Disappearing Syndrome, Hanging Revelation, and Anti-Euology three of the all-time greatest swancore songs! I love this band and everything they've done since, but don't think anything will quite match up to "Wake," one of the most unique masterpieces this genre will ever see
Your reaction was highly relatable. I recommend checking out the older Omnislash version of Traces if you haven't already. There aren't vocals, but the mix is great. Many people consider it their best version!
Nothing More is soooo underrated! But they're getting there, finally 😊❤ They're a genre of their own. Love how Alan Watts is woven into the fabric of their work. They slap, slam, hit you, heal you, provoke and shelter you. Musical true love all the way. ❤
8:25 It's funny you mention Kellin because he actually auditioned for DGD before making Sleeping with Sirens. There's a demo you can find online if him singing over "uneasy hearts weigh the most" and I think it sounds pretty good, but overall Kurt was a better fit imo.
This band is on the great metalcore bands of all time you should to listen to all IHW albums but this trilogy is A MASTERPIECE, i swear, A MASTERPIECE " Divination 2012 Earthwalker 2014 Skydancer 2015 " Also this album : Kaliyuga 2020
Big fan of this album imo. Somebody else's face & turn you are on rippers. If you've never listened to the home team, definitely check out some of their older songs. Personal favs I think you'd like are Danger, Grievance Pay, Watching all your friends get rich, Slow Bloom, & Since we all fell apart
Man its just me binging your videos i cznt seem to stay on one I remember being in high school when tbis dropped Me and my ex at the time both loved this album Man Simpler times thats for sure.
Random comment , doubt youll see it , but I had the chance to see them guys with caligula's horse It was absolutely fucking amazing These guys killed it
I'm glad I put off the singles released after the announcement of the album (I listened to Hell, Brag and Loud). Made the experience of listening to the album more fun. I still like Slow Bloom more I think, but some of the songs on this one are sick. Very fun break from music I usually listen to.
RUNTY, please react to the Parallax II album. It is mine, and many other BTBAM fans favorites. You're spot on about the consistent sound and the transitions. One thing I'm not sure you mentioned yet (its hard to find it on first listens), are all of the musical motifs and themes returning in songs and later in albums even. Parallax II has the best examples of that 👍
and here i am watching this video yet again. I love watching your videos reacting to DGD. Your reactions help me relive my own feelings of listening to these albums for the first time.
This band just picked up where KSE left off when Howard Jones left the band. I swear it's like they are KSE 2.0 (Howard Jones era). And none of this is meant in a bad way. I don't think the band is trying to emulate them, it just comes natural. The vocals, the guitar playing, to even the lyrics being almost always positive and giving a good message. Either way I love their music and hope they can keep dishing out bangers.
I really like this album BUT the nostalgia and overall feel of Divination probably won’t ever be beaten. It has some of the most crushing breakdowns and best choruses of the 2010s Also the singers mother is a tarot card reader, divination and this I believe are based around them. 26:42 halo reference Also also they went heavier cause their clean singer left
People always complaining about playback with this band is kinda sad tbh 1: It adds to the size of the performance, and the space of the vocals 2: Crowd interaction 3: Its quieter than the vocalists mic, and is slightly EQ'd different so its not like the vocalist is using it to lip sync or anything like that 4: He has no backing singers, singing this song live is fucking hard. Believe me I've tried Have I made enough points for people to stfu yet? It sounds amazing live. Thats the end of it
was a big bilmuri fan several years ago, but they haven’t been my radar this past couple years. But then this album hit me out of nowhere and is firmly my number 2 AOTY (behind Bring Me). Such a good time.
Nah for me. This album is not the best in my opinion, in fact, this is the beginning of the decline of the band Underoath, but they still make good quality songs even though not like their previous albums. TCOT and Cries of the Past are still my favorite albums by Underoath.
You’re great, you can take your time. It means a lot to us that you still post in general. I’m just hoping that one day, a single day where the sun comes up, you’ll listen to the next A Lot Like Birds album. Doesn’t matter if you video it, I feel like you’ll love it.
I fucking love this band. I first got into rolling out the red carpet and tried to get into the rest of the album but it was just such an overload for me that I wasn’t ready😭. Once my music taste expanded a little more i got into divine inner tensions and saw them live and fell in love. Now I adore wake and am gonna see them this September for their ten year anniversary of wake. 💟
I have to admit, aside from The Few Not Fleeting, this is my least favorite album in their catalog. However, it has grown on me, but I still don’t think it touches anything they have put together between their self-titled album to Spirits. For me, this album feels rushed and thrown together. While it is consistent, it severely lacks the creativity we’ve come to expect from Nothing More. It’s a bunch of the basic three stage songs that wind up being overplayed on the radio. I don’t like that about this album at all. They released this album only a year and a half after Spirits. I did my best to lower expectations because of this alone. When bands release new albums and it hasn’t even been two years since their last release, you’re usually going to get a fairly weak release. That’s just not enough time to really put everything you have into a musical project. With Spirits, there was so much diversity in the album. For me, it was perfect. Deja Vu (Too Young To See) is by far my favorite Nothing More song. It simply isn’t talked about enough. The outro of that song is insane - the sound is unlike anything we’ve heard from any band. The lyrics to that song were phenomenal. Face It is another one of my favorite Nothing More songs. I could go on and on about that album. Spirits is just hard to beat. Spirits Nothing More TSWTO Carnal TFNF That’s how I rank them. For this album, far too many songs just feel unfinished and leave a lot to be desired. I still enjoy it for what it is, but after two weeks, I’m already ready to move on to something else.
