AND, as of 2022 Sikorsky stopped producing the S-76. S-76A - ~300 produced from 1979-1986. S-76B - ~100 produced from 1987-1997. S-76C - ~200 produced from 1998-2012. S-76D - ~75 produced from 2013-2022.
VEry ambitious design and build your own gas turbine engine and transmission system and a varbon epoxy structure,? As amatuer built this os possible as there is no real FAA or ICAO approval but LAA review and verification of airworthiness which has to be renewed yaerly EXCEPT helicopters are not currently afforded such a privilege. Current reading requires CAA design approval. Rotorway has done this. SO these will have to be experimental amatuer built aicraft as the MOSAIC formula does not allow 500 shp. this looks to be another one of many i have seen in 42 years in aerospace engineering, MONEY PITS. , ICON, ECLIPSE, CIRRUS, (yes they went broke), Lancair, CHampion, New Tiger, Commander Aircraft, OMAC, VIKING, lets see the current martket....the R44 starts at about 515K usd, the r 66 1.2M USD. type certified, aluminum construction 4 place with certificated powerplants FOB TOrrance ca. This new item will have a digital instrument panel, a completely unknown drivetrain. and gas turbine s are NOT cheap to develop. so to meet this price the risk is shifted to the builder. one think about rich people ...they do not like risk.
Actually your on the mark there, just looked through a new one. Rough as guts. They even forgot to gas the air con’. The Barons are just as badly put together. I’d be happier with an old 300 upgraded with Garmin.
Rip out the Collins RUBISH and you might get a good aeroplane. Just saw a 250 upgraded to Garmin, not only was it better,it was a 108 kg lighter. The writings on the wall for Collins.
@3:27 "outfitted with CUTTING EDGE flying technology and electronics...'EASE' of flight...SEVERAL UPGRADES..including AUTO land, AUTO brakes, AUTO throttles, runway overrun AWARENESS...ADVANCED steering AUGMENTATION system..." 🙄⁉ 🤔 Would it not be easier just saying THE BLEEPING PLANE IS AN A.I DRIVEN FULLY AUTONOMOUS FLYING MACHINE THAT REQUIRES ABSOLUTELY NO HUMAN PILOTING⁉🤨⁉😂🤣😏🤫🤐‼
I put a 160K deposit (before release) on a G7 and now I am filled with regret. Same old power plant, NO FADEC, and a completely ridiculous price tag. You don't have to read many of the professional pilot's comments to figure out the G7 fell short of high expectations. IMHO, as a new pilot the Cirrus is overwhelming and unsafe. In general, the Cirrus experience has been less than satisfactory. New pilots, do your homework before you get sucked in...
