Any competent desktop Linux distro (and many qualify--most based on Debian, Ubuntu or Arch) is better than Windows. I personally don't use Mint but I have used it at one point for at least a few years (I think either the Xfce or Mate version. Not a big fan of the Cinnamon desktop environment, and I especially find it "start" menu/application launcher hideous.
The thing desperately tries to connect to a bunch of IPs, one of which belongs to Shanghai Blue Cloud Technology, which is a Microsoft partner in CHINA. Install that spyware only if you have an active firewall running. Though, same can be said about Windows nowadays.
If Windows operating systems weren't so bloated to begin with, C Cleaner, and an entire host of related software wouldn't be needed. Lets be realistic here. An average Windows 95 installation was about 60MB. Windows 11? 25-60GB. Really?
Why not improve the UX of the Settings App? Think about it: "Sorry we made the Settings App crap, here's a standalone app instead of fixing said pain points in the already existing one". Like what even is the decision making process at MSFT?!
It would be a lot better in the US if the y made internet more like a utility service that isn't all about profit. Also worth mentioning that comcast was given FREE money to build out rural infrastructure and instead they just pocketed the money.
