This channel will feature short videos of places throughout the Wirral Peninsula - and beyond. It is mostly for my own personal enjoyment and a record of my rambles out and about. However, everyone is welcome to look at them and I hope you enjoy them. I intend uploading frequently - at least weekly. I love the Wirral and think it is a great, although overlooked, part of the UK. I used to upload videos for my American email friend, Helen, to amuse her and show her life my side of the pond. Sadly she passed away in November 2020 but I thought I would carry on uploading mostly for my own pleasure. My previous channel is under my name: Morris Kenyon. Have a good day.
hello,i have a request,on the other side of Duke street bridge directly on the left there is the "ferrymans café" later "bridge café" (red brick with the white round wall )your video shows only a couple seconds from the side of it could you do a video about that pub? i have good memories there from way back in the 1970's and it might not be there for a very long time, your video would possibly be the only video of a piece of Birkenhead history
You may not see this comment now with it being a few years ago I thought I’d give a little bit of history the reason market street is called market street in Birkenhead is that area along Hamilton street where you mentioned those modern buildings was in fact where the old Birkenhead market once stood between 1845 and 1974 that triangle building stood along side it. If you look up Birkenhead old market loads comes up with photos to. If you see my comment hope that helps.
Hi I’m mark I live in Wirral in irby. I’m into history a scenes of Wirral. I’ve subscribed to your channel I’m going to Start watching them all from the start. Keep them coming these videos.
Thanks for this. I grew up in Upton and remember the thrill of going there with my dad to choose my books. We would then go to buy some cream cakes from a little delicatessen in the village. Happy days 😊
Visited myself recently. Interesting experience. It felt strange but also spiritual to see the remains of a community which had pretty much vanished in a town which felt very local to me. It was also great to see different grave styles that couldn’t be seen in the neighbouring christian cemetery (thoughthey were some styles I found unique to Blackpool there too).
Thanks for watching. I'm not Jewish myself but like you found it a spiritual and peaceful place with all the graves marking a community no longer evident in Blackpool. It made me wonder about their lives.
Thank you 👍 Always intrigued by the ' Greenland Fishery ' ........it might have something to do with Wilfred Grenfell, born at Parkgate, son of the Headmaster at Mostyn House School there. He became a missionary to the fishermen of Labrador 🤔
Sorry I missed you at your allotment! Sorry for the late reply as I have been looking after a friend's dog the last few days and not been online recently. Hope you are keeping well.
@@systemaddict4032 I will be very annoyed if they close more libraries. I wouldn't like to be responsible for the council's budget but that library has been there nearly 90 years. I'm great, thanks for asking, and glad you are too! What are you up to? I'm busy doing a painting at the moment.
Hello mate. Just found your channel, really enjoying the snippets! Going to take me a while to catch up on them all, but I've subbed! Keep them coming, Will
I was a member of the irby club, but let my membership lapse due to the fact that the bar did not allow women to enter, that was 5 years ago, I don't know if this has changed.
