This is a 2024 i bought Sept of 2023. I needed a simple trailer to use for off grid building on my off grid properties, and a easy to haul unit for local trips to family reunions, fishing and general crash pad for some weddings this summer, and next year, where i may not be in fair shape to drive. I won't risk a DUI on my CDL class A license.
Hello, I included a link to Amazon, where you can see the model i purchased. I simply unbolted the original single step and installed the two step model in the same slots the single step was bolted to. The installation didnt take more than 45 minutes to remove the single step and replace with this two step. I purchased this model due to its price, but you can buy a better set up if you feel your budget would afford. Lippert Radius 24" Double Manual RV Step Assembly, 8" Rise, 300 lbs. Hi, I did make some upgrades, but i haven't filmed those with my interior, as of yet! I will try and post something next week, and thank you for asking! You have given me motivation to do that for this channel! 👍
Hello, I bought the window online, as well as the 90 degree door latch. Here is a link or two! Vintage Technologies Premium RV Window | 14" W X 22" H | Vertical slide | Complete Installation kit Included | (1-1/2" Wall Thickness) a.co/d/0dgouQyR And here is the latch link, JR Products 06-11875 True 90 Degree SS DH , silver , black a.co/d/0dh2FlZY
I purchased the support brackets for the rack, which came with the RecPro RV heavy duty support bracket. These bolt thru the longitudinal frames, but cup under like a " c " channel to hold the 4 inch tube bumper if the welds break. Good safety to install. Good job @pjw350 !
The Dish Indoor network offers outdoor networking for $5.00 a month if you're an indoor customer. I purchased my equipment. Dish has already, at no charge, replaced one Wally receiver. The programing on the outdoor service is the programming you purchase on your indoor service. You can order or upgrade while using the outdoor unit. It is all tied to the indoor account. I like to periodically, not daily, tune into visual information while in the off the grid. I use a WE boost system for my cell network, and i have been using Sirius XM radio for almost 8 yrs, and these few items allow me to stay in touch when i get off grid overlanding.
Thank you! It is how i keep gates plugging the hole in the fence when something nontypical happens or the latch side climber from ruining my gates. It is overkill for lots, but the few that spend a few bucks extra have gates in these off the grid locations when they return.
Thanks. The range cattle fence is complete around the "Hut" camp 🏕, next phase is rocking the RV parking, cabin (Huts) sites, and driveway. Coming soon!
My main idea is to not have the gate missing as this property is recreational, and it had been one year since i last camped off the grid here. I would like it to be secure if i have a long term before i return. Well, secure as honest respecting of private property people can be, there are others, and that is possible, the risk we take these days in our society. There is no guarantee, as bolt cutters can cut fencing, chains, etc. Thanks for your time to comment!
Nice job sir, but, if you tied the gate hinge side with a heavy chain, why not use both hinges to support the heavy gate? No one can lift and steal the gate, why not install both hinges the right way?
Technically, the hinges are correct. Bottom pin is up to pivot gate, top hinge is turned down to lock the gate hinges from lifting off the pins. The reason is that livestock are curious creatures. Take, for instance, Longhorn cattle, rubbing a horn in the gate, if for any reason that cow lifts its head up, it can, lift a gate off the hinges if the top pin were was in the " up " position, the gate will come off the hinge pins, and the gate will fall to the ground ajared, only held up by the two chains, still keeping the opening somewhat closed. Most installations do not use a chain on the hinge side, and if the latch side chain is on, the gate will fall, pivot sideways, and you will have a open range if i put both hinge pins in the "up" position. This can cause injury to livestock, as the run through the opening and can get caught up in the gate walking, jumping, or just steeping through the gate frame. This gate model is the light duty stock gate. It isn't the heavy gauge steel. The front gate is only 12 feet long and 115 pounds in weight. It costs about 100.00 USD at most big box retailers when on sale. I bought this and the 10 foot back gate of the same steel gauge, at Home Depot, in Oregon. I put up this range cattle 5-wire, barbed wire fence to keep cattle and horses out of the off-grid camp property so my structures, pipe work and vehicles will not get damage from curious livestock. It is also a detourant to vandalism, theft and tresspassing as this camp is 10 miles out of the community of Winnemucca NV off the grid and in the foot hills off the valley. It is not a primary residence. It is a recreational property for members use. When you come to camp here, you can lock the gate, ensuring that when you return from your activities, your camp is still intact.
I don't have alot of time with a job and I can't afford to pay to have it done. I know, sounds ironic I do enjoy doing it and I can't complain if it's not perfect.
It is wise to let the grazers continue to keep the range in top condition. What gets fenced off will now become a issue in that environment as man destroys grass land by now allowing no natural fertilizer, such as animal waste, and the grazers " head out", in that they are not nipped off before the bud, whitch stimulates growth from the root out, and more grass will grow thinking up the graze land. I choose to fence off half of it (5 of the 10 acres) due to the road, Hut building sites, and RV parking sites. Until I can further inner fence so I can condense open grazing into this area I'm going to deal with headed out grass, more brush, and fire hazard. I do not know anyone yet in the area who would be able to bring sheep, goats, or even large livestock into this zone yet to help graze it off while it's still undeveloped. Once I move toward more development in the off grid hut life, it's going to go to nature and her devices...not a great plan on my part, but man will travel in with or without fences as man is unrespectful of property boundaries. So for those men and woman who wander up, and respect private property, I feel the fence is doing its job for now. Thank you for that comment. It means a lot to me as I do want to be a better steward of land. I can use it all, and the grazers have used it in most cases, all of the lives in the migratory paths they use to detect feed, water, shelter and observation to protect their off spring.
