Hear great keyboard players talk about their career and approach to playing.

As our previous guests will attest, each interview is a laid back look at gigging, influences and even the odd bit of gear.

Whether you’re a weekend warrior in a covers band or a successful act on the international tour circuit, we’ll try and keep you entertained with the latest and greatest talk from keyboard players. With hosts who are players themselves, we try to keep it relevant and fun.

If you want to dig deeper, check out our website at: keyboardchronicles.com

Ha! How random the RU-vid algorithm just guided me here? I remember, dunno aged 14/15 (so circa 1986), round MR’s parents gaff in New Road, mucking about on his Dads organ. I could tell even back then he had an amazing natural talent; able to hear any song and able to play it on keyboard, just like that 😁👍🏻

Saw him and others at the Totally Tubular Festival in Laval, Quebec. Great show! He was the primary reason I went, driving all the way from New Hampshire, of course the others all worth seeing as well!

Quite a varied musical history for sure !! I’m not a jazz person, but I could tell he’s worked with or the very least, been influenced by key Jazz musicians of the New York scene. I did recognize a name or 2 tho 😃. I like Larry’s term of “coloring a mood with music” or “adding color” to a song. What a unique way of looking at composing and creating a song. Looking forward to part 2. 😊💜🇨🇦

I miss Matt & Laurel- when "Daddy" was pure. NEVER begrudging, your success, Darlings, EVER! But you know that feeling, when you loved the Original Version? Well, that's exactly how i feel, about a few songs like "Love Doesn't Frighten Me," on "Panic of Girls." Just feels a little slighted- I just think Laurel sang it better.

Wow Roger, you just mentioned something that I have always wanted you to do! Like little audio apps that you can have on your phone. Relaxation is just a no-brainer and totally up your alley! Along with ringtones! I would really love for you to do an instrumemtal album, and/or a Jellyfish instrumental album. ..And I mean a ALL Jellyfish songs. Which would be unique! I can’t wait to hear it!... love, love, love Roger Manning style!❤✨️

Really enjoyed the interview with David Sancious and love how you let him talk. He talks well. I have an LP of David's album "The Bridge" I would love to know if he every plans to remix and mater it for digital? I am a classically trained keyboard player and love to play R&B and Jazz. David has suck a wonderful style and I love his improvisation and feel it to my bones.

@@TheKeyboardChronicles I've seen Thomas perform 3 times over the years - the first time was way back in 1984 on 'The Flat Earth' tour (hard to believe it's 40 years!). The second time was around the release of 'Astronauts and Heretics' in 1992 - a great, intimate gig with an amazing band in a club in London called the Mean Fiddler, literally a 10 minute walk from where I lived at the time! Finally, I saw him do an entirely solo gig with all the technology, in Manchester around 15 years ago. Hopefully he'll make it back to Australia in the near future 🙂

Steve is one of the most memorable people I've ever worked with. He formed an assembly line between himself and the session musicians. He charted, discussed, then laid down basic tracks then moved on to the next. Overdubs came in on 2nd shift. 20+ songs in a couple of days. He headed a session in Muscle Sholes for my brother Neal Dover that was being produced by Thumbs Carlille. A studio of Amazing Creation. Love the memories and I love this guy.❤

Love Steve. Love the interview. I was blessed to work with Steve and to be invited to hang out at Pyramid Studio on Lookout Mountain while Steve charted songs and recorded them. He was based out of Muscle Sholes then before moving to Nashville. He played on a session for my brother Neal Dover that was being produced by Thumbs Carlille. It's still one of my favorites and not just because I sang and wrote a song on it. Great to see Steve here. He's absolute perfection ❤

Another great interview guys! Doug is very humble and passionate about his craft and it shows. As he says, regardless if that’s NOT your type of music or artist, you are hired to do a job. You throw 100% focus into it and give it your all. Being called upon to do so many projects, doing just more than playing. That’s a great thing! A well deserved career for Doug. Plus you can get away with anything because NOBODY sees the keyboard player . . . 😏😂 Much love from Canada and Tammy’s Musical Stew 😃💜🇨🇦🎶

what a fascinating interview! I always liked Deep Forest but never knew much about them, and though im a keyboardist never really delved much into them. I definitely never realised they were French. It is interesting I first went for a holiday from Sydney to Paris in the 90s, and what surprised me the most was how multi cultural it was. I saw and and heard africans, middle eastern, baltic, eastern, it really blew me away. It now makes total sense that they came from there!
