Gah, I hate fake flowers crudely glued to cacti. My sister is so upset now because she realized he cacti’s bloom is fake. Thank you for making this video
Thank you. Gave me a better idea on how to set up my dehydrator. Mine is exactly the same one but the book doesn’t explain much. I don’t like not knowing the operation of anything before I start. I’m just old and fussy. 😁
Hi Mr. Jack, Love your video Can you help us out on our large Donkey Ear plant that has grown on an angle over the pot. The thick stalk has snapped open. Can I replant the stem into the ground with new organic soil or trim the stem a little..? I wish I could send you a photo...! Thanks
Sometimes that happens, but the good news is..yes you can plant the stem into another pot with new soil. Let the stem callus over a couple of days and then plant it. Water it a little bit not too much then watch for new growth. Once you see new growth you can water when needed. I hope this helps, and fear not.. it'll continue to live and grow. Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thanks for the feedback, We live in Central FL... These plants grow fast and so many pups.. now I have keep these squirrels away from digging up our plants. I going to start replanting the giant stem in a medium size pot. Thanks Mr. Jack
I not 100% sure but I think some Maples turn different colors. This one I planted turned yellow the first Fall. This year it had a little bit of red to it. Are your trees young?
@@JackSpellerberg the ones that get to bright beautiful red are the youngest. The two that get yellow are about 5 years since I got them, they should be around 10 yrs. So yeah, they are young... so you are saying they should be adjusting ? I hope... I mean, they look great on those yellow lief tho.... but it would be awsome to be surrounded by red trees by winter. :)
🤣😂🤣😂. My monstera monster is sending out many of that thin brown/silver lianas 😂 they are over 2 meters long and stick to the wall, the floor and the carpet..oh! And the side of the window.i dont remove them because im so fascinated by them🥰. Im excited what the future brings. How can i repot this Monster? The snake roots brake easely.
Thanx for the video!! I stole a haworthia with striped leaves from a restaurant Tabletten because i felt so sorry for it standing dried out in a dark restaurant corner. I gave it vulcanic soil with Sand, garden soil and a bought succulent earth. It does very well and all around it,little plants come out of the earth❤😊. I love huberta. Thats her name because the restaurant was somewhere in the swiss alps. Where all the Huberts and Hubertas are living 😂😂.
@@JackSpellerberg ........you cant imagine how much poor plants i stole in my life and rescued. Or like my monstera....i saw a big poor one in.....tadaaa!!! ....a restaurant. With a much too Stall pot, ciggarette stumbles in the earh and sad looking dusty leaves. Hmm... too big to hide under the jacket. So i ripped off an arm, took it home nursed it and now he is crawling through my kitchen on the wall. I thought . If i coild not help this poor thing with the roots growing out over the rand of the pot ,then i can save a part that hopefully contains all the plant memories of the big plant. I hope i got the soul and the spirit of the plant inside "Indie" too. Lovely greetings from austria🇦🇹
Do not plant a tree like this. The top of the root flare where the trunk starts should be slightly above grade, not in a hole where it will drowned and die.
I didn't realize that thank you for bringing that to my attention. This Maple is now 25-30 feet tall and absolutely flourishing given the way I planted it. I'll definitely keep your advice in mind if and when I plant another one. Thank you again for your tip, and also, thank you for watching and taking the time to comment I really appreciate it!!
@@TeakCrayfish26 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UGypUdPRXVM.html This is the actual song for At Dawn playling in the background. And before you ask, I already contact the individual, and he said he no longer had the original song.
@@TeakCrayfish26 you are entirely incorrect. And sorry for the 5 months late response. This video is now removed from the playlist. At the time, I had no idea why I also thought that lakey was involved in this track here.
@@JackSpellerberg yeah sorry about that. I accidently thought that lakey also created this track with Julian. Plus, to be fair, you did mention Lakey in the description, sooooo....
Hey Jack… I know this is an old video… and I saw how you attempted to grow the seeds… I would suggest going to “Ecoscape” here on youtube and watch his videos… His name is Alan Beverly and he cultivates these aloes in Santa Cruz, Ca. And he also sells different sizes of the plant for a very reasonable price… he also sells the seeds and those are also a very good price. He’s got quite a few videos on this plant if you’re still interested. He does have a website which you can lookup in the youtube info area… good luck. I have 2 aloe spirals that I’ve purchased from him… in fact, he has a great deal on 10 1 gal size plants for $200 plus shipping these are already started for you, if you really wanna grab some.
I have 1 opuntia and its developing small pups on the pads but the pads are still small. So.. Im just gonna let it grow and see how it goes in the spring season.
Instead of soaking in water make sure your soil is moist then put them in a closed plasid bag or container, your need constant 80% humidity for this to work
When I decided to prune mine I found information that lead me to prune it to about 3 feet from the ground. That's what I did in this video. Thank you for watching and commenting!
My donkey ears growth under the shade of my apartment, expose to the sun all day but It has never sprouted since it was planted last year until now and leaves are smaller and narrower than yours How to plant and take care of it properly? Kindly let me know (Sorry for my bad english🙏🏻)
They seems to like less light than other plants. They should do good under a tree with shade. The leaves might be smaller because it's a different kind of Donkey Ears. I'm not sure about that.
Just curious. So after a cutting like this during the dormant season, when you get back to that following spring summer, how much growth in terms of new leaves and fig production occurs? And is it more realistic to expect that after this type of cutting it might take two seasons or so to get a really nice amount of productionOr does that occur right away? Thank you for the video! That was awesome!
I can't accurately answer those questions. That's above the scope of my knowledge. I will say though that this pruning on this particular tree encouraged a lot of new growth and a bigger production of figs. I also did it to increase the airflow in and around the tree because it had grown very dense.
@@JackSpellerberg no that's a perfect answer. I mean I'm pretty much a novice. I was lucky I moved into my new house a year and a half ago and lucky to have a bunch of mature fruit trees in the backyard. I have a fig tree that's about 18 ft tall and 16 ft. Wide so I'm looking to make that bad boy the main supply of fruits. It gives me a nice quarter sized figs but I know they can be much bigger. It's a brown turkey one.. And then I have to do the same. I have a couple apple trees that are way too overgrown and some walnut and black walnut trees.. I didn't realize how fast a fig tree grows. I had cut off some growth in the winter dormant. And then when I came back now late May early June I'm like. Wow. It looks like I cut nothing lol All the new growth and all the new leaves and everything that's sprouted out that I didn't think was going to happen So it feels good seeing that. So now I know that when I cut it back even shorter like you did in your video, I'm going to be okay because it knows how to grow. So that was really helpful. I appreciate you taking the time to respond back
