Although I love to see all the demonstration teams dance to perfection, this to me is what Scottish country dancing is all about. Meeting weekly in the village hall or local school and dancing the night away, with a wee cup of tea at the interval! Ah memories!
Pat, I am ill in Hospital. You have little idea of how much better I feel as a direct result of listening and watch this delightful video. THANK YOU. Frank in Haywards Heath
@@patriciareesby6419 Hello Pat, I’ve managed to find out….the first tune is “Joy Be Wi’ Ye” !! It’s very similar to a Gaelic Song sung by the group Cliar.
@@RichardPGE Hello again….now I’m beginning to wonder if the 2nd tune is Saddle the Poney !! 3 weeks ago , Pat put out “joy be wi’ ye”……do you know the name of the first tune ? I think I’ve heard a Gaelic Song like that. Thanks.
You know..?.. listening to Canadian Branches I found out, that they play a lot more authentic tunes than is in Scotland the case. And (as I already wrote elsewhere) that was due to BBC.
This was filmed at a dance held by the Lower Hutt SCD club, as mentioned above. People from clubs around Wellington and further afield attend other clubs' annual dances.
Great to watch. Great to share. Great to follow at the first available opportunity. At the end of the globe, where I am, and quite a few spots, I suspect, in-between.
