Love this video so much. Thanks for sharing ❤️ I teared up a couple of times seeing your family in the crowd. I totally know that feeling of seeing a familiar face. I'll be running chicago in a couple of months with my hubby as the sole cheerleader as we're traveling there from Singapore 🎉 looking forward. God bless ❤️
Congrats. A full marathon is a very long event. If you want to avoid any bathroom-related issues, avoid having any solid foods within 3h prior. There are plenty of liquid nutrients you can consume instead.
Girl! We got to do better framing! We are not the last in the last when we talked about our corrals and our waves. We are the party pace in the party wave!
I’m rooting for you Ivy with the training, fundraising, and personal goals! Excited to see what races and other projects you have going on in the future!
I really appreciate you incorporating prayer into this. I am gay but I’ve been getting closer to god through prayer and it feels great, going to start running again tmrw! ((:
Yes, I definitely could not do this without God's help. I'm glad that prayer helps you with your relationship with Him at the end of the day we are all children of God and that's what matters :) I hope you had a wonderful run!
It would've been nice to know this in high school when I ran a lot more! I'll try this with my current shoes though. The heel part of my ons sometimes slip out when I play basketball
Amazing video, as usual, Ivy! 🎉 It was so wonderful to meet you that day and of COURSE we watch your videos - you inspire us! 🥹 Keep up the amazing work in both running and vlogging, and see you at the 15K!! 🥳
@@fotogralex interesting, because in my recent video I was struggling to take out the go3 from my hat mount during a race. My go 3 was about to die so I wanted to charge it but I couldn’t take it out of the mount. I tried it after the race and it was so easy to take it out. Idk what happened during the race. 😅
This is so inspiring! I'd love to run the Chicago Marathon one day. I watched the Tokyo Marathon on the sidelines last weekend and I got so inspired with that as well that now I'm planning to participate in the next one in 2025. As Filipina who has just started running last year, I find so much hope hearing your marathon story that maybe (just maybe) I can do it too ❤ Glad that I found your channel. Thanks for sharing your experience, Ivy!
Hi Xyra, thank you so much for your sweet and kind words🫶🏼. I bet watching the Tokyo Marathon was so fun!! It’s so inspiring to watch people push through and achieve a very hard goal. I’m glad I somehow inspired you to run a marathon (nahiya ako 😅). You’ll be shocked that there are actually a lot of Filipino runners out there. There are some facebook groups you can join, everyone is inspiring too. I’m excited for your marathon journey, with hard work I know you’ll have a great time crossing that finish line. Keep me updated, I would love to hear your running journey. Ingat♥️
oh man, I missed it! Rock n roll was so fun in Salt Lake, I bet the vibe was extra fun in Vegas!! I saw you posted a video, I'll watch it, it looks fun.
@@alejandroflores8610 did you run as well? 10K people?! wow, is that just all the runs or including the spectators too? That sounds like a fun party!!!
I love how it feels so alive at night with all the lights and people. But running in the morning was so calming and the strip has its own charm in the morning.
Learn to blow your nose while running. Hold one nostril closed and blow out the other side. Snort and spit if necessary also clear your throat and spit. It's better than it running down your throat.
Well done. I watched at x1.5 speed which was fun. Give yourself a break as running with sniffles after getting over COVID is going to be rough since COVID is a respiratory virus.
Cool vid Ivy! That’s a lot of sniffles haha, but props to you for still putting in the work even if you’re not feeling 100% 💪 When my sides start to hurt while running, I like to fully relax my arms at my sides, shake them out like I’m punching the ground with a loose fist. That followed by a little box breathing is usually a pretty quick fix for me. There are different box or diaphragmatic breathing exercises you can try, but as long as you focus on taking a big and deep breath, holding it for a few seconds, and forcefully exhale it all out, you can still get the same benefits. Mine is usually something like inhale for 4 seconds through my nose, hold my breath for 4-7 seconds, then exhale from my mouth until everything is out and repeat.
Thank you TJ! I can always count on you with good advice. I tried your advice right away while I was walking to work, it’s hard to box breath while walking. How do you do that while running? I’ll train myself to do that tho cause it makes sense to me. Any diaphragmatic breathing exercises that you think I should try? I do that too! hahaha but my sinuses were inflamed it was blocked and wouldn’t go down. I wish I know how to snot rocket hahaha
Happy Birthday! My tradition is to take my kids to breakfast at the restaurant of their choice for their birthday. Seems kind of dangerous there at the narrow section. This makes me excited to sign up for a race soon. Just so happens my first 5k was in Provo. I started running in college there. Hopefully I can be ready for one soon. Great job.
