Welcome to 40K Theories - an unofficial Warhammer fan channel dedicated to the mysteries of the Warhammer 40,000 universe, fan fiction as well as lore videos for newcomers.
I imagine STC's could be copied. They are just data, after all. It's just that they're jealously guarded by the forge worlds that hold them as knowledge is itself sacred and knowledge that you hold that no one else does gives you an advantage in the byzantine order of the tech priests.
In reference to modern religious leaders being stuck in the Warp, wouldn't it make sense that a great number of the ships that left Terra over years were filled with people wanting to spread the word or look for their respective gods throughout the galaxy?
God damn it. Would you knock it off? Astartes can only be males. Let’s make 2 more variations of Sisters of Battle and any kind of inclusion is mute. Although, I would say that some of the best characters in WH 40K are females.
It's a bit strange telling someone to "knock it off" on a video that they put out over 7 years ago... As an aside, you might want to read up on Saulus Maegon, as she underwent the exact same augmentation process Luther did to turn him into a pseudo-space marine (source: Angels of Caliban and Luther: First of the Fallen). It's fascinating stuff.
@@40KTheories it’s deserved. Although, I did miss 7 year mark. I did read all you are proposing and notion of making female originating Space Marines is preposterous! Female Astartes are no made for several reasons. Very important reason and none of them is misogyny or attempt to put women down.
If you actually watched the video or read the pinned comment (the one that says read this first), you would know that this is not what the video is about. Nor am I accusing anyone in this video of misogyny, so please do not presume. The video is about whether or not it is possible in any way (which Saulus Maegon, who came into the lore just before, and was explored in greater depth _after_ this video, provides a potential explaination for yes), not that it _has to be_ done.
2:38 Rem you're wrong, the Geno 5-2 Chilliad are heavily implied to be Catholic so there is still some contemporary religious belief up to the Great Crusade
Didn't the Heresy series make a point about how Ollanius Pious was the last Catholic though (and even that was due to him being a Perpetual holding onto his beliefs for millennia)? Not to mention the entire plot of the Last Church?
7:16 It's actually a bit more complicated then that. There doesn't seem to be a official alliance. Parts of the Imperium and Leagues will trade with each other, create pacts or generally leave each other alone. Other parts and Leagues however have no issue going to war or take potshots at each other. The Leagues mainly want the Imperium to leave them alone so they don't discover existence of the Votann, which the Mechanicus would start apocalyptic wars for if they knew about them, and overzealous elements and xenophobic Inquisitors and Chapter Masters are constantly pushing for the Leagues to be recognized as true xenos so they can exterminate them without getting political pushback.
@@40KTheories In fairness to you, that bit of information was a sentence or two cramped with their relationships with the other factions. Their relationship with the Imperium certainly needs more clarifying since you know they are Abhumans who are not under the Imperiums control and, shockingly, the Kin makes no secrets of the Ironkin being fully sentient AI. What I want them to clarify above all else is why did the Imperium thought the Leagues were exterminated by the Tyranids? You wrote that nonsensical bit of lore GW, don't you dare try to wiggle your way out of explaining the mess you made.
I got the DLC for Boltgun, Fun as Fuck. If you want to try a FPS, Binary Domain is a great game that nobody plays anymore but it has a great single player campaing.
So to give everyone here a quick update, we did intend on having another theory video go live prior to this Q&A, but due to various issues (which Patreon Supporters and Channel Members have been made aware of), it has unfortunately been delayed by a little bit. We apologise for the inconvenience, and will keep people up to date (or start posting teasers) closer to the time. Thank you - Remleiz
But those human religious figures in the Warp theoretically might not demand more than a some remote, undiscovered solar system, separated since the Dark Age of Technology, where they would have worshippers , to survive on some form?
man in the shadow crusade when lorgar tells him “you deserved better, Angron” it really hits. he could have been the best. it’s a pipedream but i hope he somehow gets redeemed and returned
Great video! For me the nail in the coffin of the 4th Legion answer is that the 4th Legion used the "winged-bolt" iconography of the 8th crusade fleet before Perturabo was found. I think this lore came after this video.
Or maybe make it mode of 3v3 where is marine vs nids where the 3 marine players fight against the gaunt hordes with 3 nid players jumping in as specialist mobs to stop the Marines with long respawn times.
Question: Just how easy is it for an eldar suddenly to get eaten by Slannesh before they die? There's so much in the eldar lore that Slannesh is a huge threat and they need to protect their souls and can't use their psychic powers or express their emotions too much or "Slannesh will get them", but where is the line exactly? Are there any examples in the lore of an eldar going too far and suddenly a warp portal opens up and pulls them in?
Hahahaha.. If only this video waited another year or so before being released (yeah, sound like the video itself decided to be released early I know), we could've had the entire answer of what became of her.. Then I guess the video would've been redundant then.. But oh well, still fun to watch & enjoy the speculations even though we now know.. And yeah, she did in fact become an extremely potent pysker.. Though I feel like she became far too powerful far too quickly. Perhaps the effects of having your soul shredded over & over again by the denizens of the warp
Daemon forces appears on Catachan- *5 hours of screaming and crying later* Space marine: "We've come to save yo- wait, why are you alive?" Catachan Jungle Fighter: "I am alive? Uh, yes i am, why are you here again?" SM: "There is a daemon invasion" JF: "There was one? That's what the scream were uh, i bet big boy ate them." SM: "W-Who's big boy?" JF: "Oh don't worry, you don't wanna know about it, *trust me* ."
What the hell is the accent of the synthetic voice supposed to be..? I can tell you now, no British person sounds remotely like that in real life. It's like an American soap opera actor's idea of an English accent, ffs!
@@40KTheories OMG, well my face is pretty red in that case. I'm so sorry to the narrator, your voice is actually pleasing to the ear - pretty sounding even. It doesn't sound English, cos it isn't English - who'd a thunk it eh? God, I'm such a fool. 😣😬😱
My theory is that the hrud are from over a million years into the future in time when by 50k the emperor permanently died leaving humans "free" but not long as mere centuries after the great game ended with the death of every chaos god and with all those gods dead the warp became unstable and its radiation seeped into the material world bringing demons and other monsters in and worst of all mutating all organic life into abominations (i.e making humans into hrud) and this disaster reshaped the galaxy and all in it for the worst
Question: Do you have any thoughts/ strong oppions on the fact that BL no longer keeps physical copies in stock longer than a few years ? 60% of the Heresy is out of print, Primarch books, out of print, even big fantasy sellers like Gotrek and Felix out of print.
QUESTION: How many more editions of AoS do you think Slaanesh will be imprisoned? As an aside, Leutin's newest vid thinks GW wants to minimize Slaanesh to game warhammer more advertiser friendly.
@@40KTheories oh, that actually makes sense then. I haven't noticed a speech impediment in any of your videos so far so you must be doing something right. Keep up the good work!
Thank you. If you listen to the podcasts and livestreams it's a lot more noticeable. But even then I edit most of them out (in the case of the podcasts), but you'll still hear stammering, stuttering and the like every so often.
Such a broad question that is impossible to answer because what matters is how the Emperor returns. Does he return as a God? Does he return as a broken man physically but psychically more powerful than anyone in the universe? Does he manage to come back whole hard as he come back as a whole entity? Or does he come back broken? You realize if he comes back broken between his physical self and his humanity and also as a God that this leads to a second heresy where the imperium of Man is led by the Emperor and at the same time has to fight the other part of the Emperor. Do you not see where this story is going? 50K is going to be a second heresy but instead of Horus it will be the humanity of the Emperor versus the warp God Emperor. Everything is leading to this situation where the Emperor is shattered into pieces and may be represented by multiple versions of his soul. Both versions will fight chaos but one will unite the legions and yet become just another form of chaos while the other pieces representing his humanity will do their best to protect the imperium but this Emperor will be the leader in name only as he is just as incomplete as his warp God version. It will be the Emperor heresy and the Primarchs, even the demon ones will choose sides. In this galaxy not only will there be only time for war but there will be an emperor leading a war in the warp that spills over into real space but there will be an emperor that is broken mentally instead of physically who will lean heavily on his sons to conduct the war in real space to protect the imperium. I don't understand how people don't see the obvious setup that the next great savior and enemy of mankind will be the divided Emperor. Civil War in the imperium as the resurrected emperor crushes the religion that stains his name and is against everything he stood for and possibly crushes the Inquisition as well leading to dark deals. The missing Primarchs could be revealed but then the struggle would be which emperor would they side with? Would their legions that have been hidden in the ranks of the ultramarines suddenly remember? Right now they want to focus on The threat of the Leviathan and the other fleets entering the galaxy but that's just the prelude to the schism of the emperor.
I like Occulus Imperial theory about the Orks using their wagghh field to access the psychic library. It explains why orks seem to always access similar technology. My most charitable interpretation of the Emperor (my most not THE most)is that he planned to get rid of the Primarchs and their legions after the galaxy was conquered but started having second thoughts after meeting and spending time with the Primarchs(at the very least for some of them)But before he could make up his mind the Horus Heresy started.
What if there were originally only 19 chapters, and with the dissolutions of the 2nd and 11th the Alpha Legion was created and both those primarchs became the leaders of the Alpha Legion?
