My theory: It once belonged to Alpharius and was part of a disguise (I assume he would have worn/ prepared) during the campaign that is known as/ culminated in the Battle of Alaxxes Nebula (Wolf King novella). While the snakes (= Alpha Legion) and especially their primarchs could certainly device runes that looked authentic even to educated eyes (like those of an inquisitor in M41), a true and lore-knowledgeable Fenrisian like Logar is likely to spot any minuscle error. And cunningly seize the opportunity: Just like they didn't want potential DNA of Russ falling in the hand of the Dark Eldar, there could potentially be DNA of a traitor primarch still be attached to the power fist.

So it's a twist ending, the gauntlet is not what everyone thought it was. The question is: how much of a twist have we got? If it's Reynor's that's a mild twist, and I doubt they would want to dispose of such a revered relic. I think it's probably a *real twist* and the glove would have to have belonged to Horus. Abbadon was a pretty big guy, so maybe that's a possibility, you'd have to measure it. But most likely, I think it was Horus. Logan was just playing it cool, saying simply "wolves".

i wonder if the fist actaully belonged to a GC era space marine, as it is seems to be canon that they were even larger than m41 era space marines, with space marines shrinking due to degradation in geneseed and much of their origins lying with the shoddy and hastily made inductii of the heresy

Could it of been pre Heresy Word Bearers? Near the same colour as the wolves armour, would explain the ruins and the power coming from it and could imagine Lorgar leaving gauntlets everywhere like a bitch

2nd Theory: Everyone is so busy trying to work it out as though its a really cryptic...but it isn't at all, it belonged to a marine named Demetrius and he was a pretty good fist-fighter. Thats it.

Here's a video for you that I've been mulling around with a bit: Is Isha still trapped in Nurgle's Garden? So Isha the eldar healing god is stuck in Nurgle's mason jar, everyone knows that. That's not just a 40k invention however, that was where she was in Fantasy as well. However during the End Times in Khaine Book 1 we follow a pair of Wood Elves who travel into Nurgle's Garden on a quest to rescue Isha. Spoiler alert but they actually do it. They go up to the bird cage she's trapped in, take some bracelet off her wrist and then she teleports away. It also turns out the one of the Wood Elves, Kalara, put the bracelet on and took her place. That's all fine and dandy for Fantasy but what does this have to do with 40k? Well on the elves adventure they slowly gather a few party members; a weird scholar that is both immune to the disease and fascinated by the garden's fauna, a sorcerer they rescue from a bit of Tzeentch's crystal labyrinth that's poking into Nurgle's realm, and fucking Kaldor Drago. At least it's heavily implied to be some sort of Grey Knight, but c'mon. The knight is described as a "...giant of a man, whose armour gleamed like silver despite the cloying murk of the jungle floor." After the party free him (he was shackled to the ground) the narration makes a point to mention how "his speech was strange" and that the Chaos Gods were his sworn foe. Later at Nurgle's cabin the knight says that he'll distract the demons saying that "...made something of a name for himself since his arrival in the benighted realm." He then went on a head and "...swept out his hand, and blue fire exploded amongst the advancing daemons." This is apparently not something knights in Fantasy aren't known to do, but in 40k? Sure sounds like psyker stuff to me. Later as the remaining party retreat they see the knight's "broken body set upon a jagged spear", but when the Wood Elf tried rescuing him the scholar stopped him and said that the knight was too powerful to be killed by the remaining demons and that the knight would "take his own revenge in due course". So an unkillable and powerful grey knight that's rampaging across the warp? Granted there's room to deny it's even a grey knight at all buuuut it seems to be at the very least a reference to the grey knights but I still think it could easily be Drago as well, and not just in a small wink to the audience way either. So when you throw in a grey knight into this story, plus all of the other references to one another, could this mean that Isha was rescued for 40K as well? Unlike in 40k the Fantasy elven gods are all still mostly around, plus Isha teleported to the Fantasy world and not to the Eldar in 40k. I think that last point alone means it's probably just the Old World Isha that escaped and the 40k version is still there but who knows, an author could just say "weird warp shit happened" and 40k Isha escaped too. Imagine Russ or the Eldar rescuing Isha from the garden to only find out it was just Kalara the wood elf instead. Would people be pissed? I mean warhammer fans are always pissed about the lore but would they be especially pissed? Or would it be a fun twist? No idea, but if anyone is going to rescue the lady in the bird cage it'll probably be Russ since GW writes the Eldar like thriving and conquering the galaxy for millions of years was just blind luck.

I have a theory that the abnormally large Astartes from the Great Crusade and Unification wars were Thunder Warriors that had been compatible with the gene seed and had been inducted into the legion which they received the gene seed from. I know that Endryn Harr of the Warhounds was rumored to be one.

Ooh double feature this week

This is my take, in the backwhen times of 2nd edition the primarks were just bigger spacemarines but not by much , now they are giants to the regular marines, now with genetic variation or bio compatibility you can have larger than AVERAGE marines, like the giant primark Volcan and the compatibility small alpharius, so i dont see it strange after so many people changend into spacemarines and especially during the great crusade that you find one person that had the chance to be big or just took to the geneseed too well and just ended up big. As for primarks, no one said that they still couldn't keep growing and (to my knowledge) have they said that the lion had to get new slightly bigger armor? Or any primarks getting their armor size increased by a bit?

Baldemort should be the narrator of the next 40k strategy game or rpg.

Envelope-theory: Space wolves are not named so because they can't translate Vlka Fenryka, but because thats only half of what they are made of. The other half are made up of Luna Wolves. And thats why Logan Grimnar has iconography similar to that belonging to Horus...They're wolves, all of them. A name change down the line doesn't change this. Maybe they forgot, or maybe its deliberately kept secret, and maybe the Space Wolves that are actually Luna Wolves instead of Vlka Fenryka have no idea. I'll take this further, what was the weapon Leman Russ wielded? A spear. What was the primary method of attack of the Luna Wolves? The spear-tip maneuver (btw Mr. Baldermort, still one of my most favorite stories, the story of what its like being on the receiving end of the Luna Wolves as they turned traitor). Silly idea but it sounded cool in my head.
