This is a collection of videos showcasing the trails I have ridden mainly in and around the Peak District as well as the odd adventure beyond. This gives you a chance to see if they look like they are worth visiting and suitable for your level as well as showing off the beautiful area of the country that is The Peak district. I will not claim they are original or my riding is any good but I hope you enjoy them. Feel free to like comment and share!
@@CyclingRenaissance hi Andy great to meet you😎 and a top weekend. I should have been more thoughtful and recorded more b roll of the evening stuff. But hey I'm a biker not a film director 🤣. Cheers for the view and comment
Great video mate, amount you do on Komoot youndeserved this breakbaway, plus noce you could get Marc involved (little 50th bday present 🎁). Shame you got the mud on the last run, but was still watchable. Such a shame the trail centre is at risk, because from video evidence it offers far more than some of the well established ones! Bet *parking (larking) is cheaper as well!
Loads of larking about was had 🤣. You're right such a shame these places are at risk. The economy in that area is struggling in many ways and MTB is a good attraction to bring in some cash.
@@budycelyn So sorry, had the awful 80s American sitcom thing in my head 🤣. Such a shame that people aren't riding these places. Makes me sad when I hear places like this and Coed y brenin are struggling.. I love natural trails but a good trail centre is so important.
@@MTB_Derbyshire there is a bit of the bike park wales effect, but main issue is natural resources wales, decide to close trails just before the summer season for "felling" but some trails have been closed for well over a year now. they suck.
there's a few trail centres in the area, blade is on the glyncorrwg trail network with blade, whites level and skyline, then Afan forest park has Penhydd, bluscar and YWall, not far from Afan forest is the main off piste area called the masts. but there is plenty of off piste dotted around the area.
Cracking video mate, looks like a really decent day's riding. A long time since I've been to Afan but I remember it being really good (for a trail centre 😂)
@@MTB_Derbyshire shame it’s so far off really (and there’s better places before reaching it). I do think that people who love trail centres should make the pilgrimage though, especially as it’s future is unfortunately uncertain
Ace video Jonathan, ace weekend full stop. Those trails were like nothing I’ve ridden before, all the tech and fun with added hard work 🤣, I was so knackered 🤣🤣 brilliant day 👍🏻
@@davidcoomber4050 Thanks for watching. What an interesting comment I mean, it's a very technical place to ride and with a faulty brake pretty sketchy. I will add, your comment comes across as a little barbed, shall we say.. If I'm wrong then consider your phrasing in future. If I'm correct and it's meant as a dig then consider the basis on which you make it, for you may find you're standing on sand.
@@chunkyantmtb thanks Ant,it's the only thing you can do as you're slipping around everywhere 🤣. Made for a great ride, inspite of the grotty conditions
Now that's the Goyt I know well 🤣🤣 Can do nothing but laugh at the crazy conditions, puddles that slow the bike down are never good! Can tell you both had a great laugh, that's what its all about! Guess back to this weather myself now 😭😭
Absolutely ace day 🤣 ace video too 😄👍🏻 so many sketchy moments, so many laughs, it would be nice to ride a bit drier but we certainly made the most of it 😄👍🏻
@@MTB_Trekker just ace. It's got a bit of everything really. I only sampled the really steep stuff on the last run ....when I was absolutely spent (well that's my excuse anyway 😜)
@MTB_Derbyshire the that's what happened with me last time I was there a few weeks ago. 7 or 8 runs and I was dead. The steeper one to the left, I spat my dummy out and walked it 🤣
Glad you finally got to Eastridge, such a great place, some great riding by the way for your first visit, I’ve not done alternative Steepy yet, it looks just as steep as the main line though haha, no easy way down 😬🤣 you did your county proud 😄👍🏻
Cheers Ant. You know things are way steeper than they appear. That trail is right next to the really steep one......that I was threatened with 🤣. Great place!
@@MindfulTrailBiker great question....it's a very long way....I'd definitely go back to Shropshire but this ridge line is challenging and cool for one visit....not sure I'd want to bother again.
@@chunkyantmtbYep the flying Scotsman was a hopeless mess of fallen trees and other detritus. Really couldn't ride a big chunk of it. That ridge line was worth doing for a challenge. ..was it enjoyable? Hmm not really 🤣 some great views though 👍
Ace video Jonathan, more memories came flooding back on this one, I think you were quite brave attempting the ridge line on your own, never mind the rock roll 🤣 so much steeper in reality than what you see in videos, flying Scotsman wasn’t particularly nice to ride when I did it last, looks terrible now, I’m glad I’ve done that rock roll, no need for me to go back 😄👍🏻
@@andrewlarkin4535 it's a classic route and no mistake. Yep they've ruined that last part. Shame as it was a fun/awkward little section. Let's hope they don't do it to all the trails 😞. Cheers for the comment 👍
Been a few times to the Mynd and there's definitely a couple of trails that will take you out if you're not careful. Summer on minton batch is a bit sketchy at times. Enjoyed that buddy.
2019 i did the long mynd, a very wet & miserable day but such a memorable one, the climbs were horrific though, we never did the off piste trails, we rode past them with the intention of coming back to them, by the end we were absolutely soaked & covered in mud, we decided to give them a miss, was meant to go back and check out the off piste but it never happened, i think i /we should, great video mate, loved it 👍
@@HallMarc_Trails the off piste weren't on my original plan that's where Jim's knowledge came in. Decent couple of trails but not extensive. It's the climb though as you say. I mean we did three climbs (though the first was up and down as we did the off piste) and two full descents. Epic stuff though I'd say. I mean all three rides I did over there had a completely different feel to them. Great area for riding.
I do like riding around the longmynd! I got chased by one of those horses last time I was there! 😂 Some pretty steep trails in the woods, not that the GoPro shows it! 👍
Great video, i think I’ve only ever got down the final part to langsett without stopping once, mickledon edge is a great trail, always enjoy that one, always a nice once a year route 👍🏻
Great video mate, and another new word popping up 'Skitchy' 🤣 Seems when you follow Marc it is just as dangerous with the rocks flying by! Never seen it so dry there!
@@ElectricMountainBiker really dry, still found mud in the woods though...obvs. That rock was scary size of my fist flew up and went whizzing passed at head height. Good excuse for steering into the side I reckon. All sorts of rubbish comes out of my mouth as I'm riding along but I quite like Skitchy 😜. Cheers mate.
@@Stopadoodledoo 🤣funnily enough I did but not controversial enough.....only got about 60k views on them 🤣. Love routes with a bit of variety. Cheers Jason.
The perfect ride before my holiday, only a little bit hairy 🤣 it was a great day, even though it was shorter than planned, at least we had time for a nice pint afterwards 😄🍺, great video Jonathan 👍🏻
@@HallMarc_Trails yep great ride more for the chilled vibe, laughs and beer perhaps. Trails were running well though. I said it was hairy to fit in with the nose reference 🤣 poor really.
