If you thought that was bad you’re going to think this is CRAZY!! I’m surprised the boats didn’t sink from the weight of their giant kahunas!! Check it out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OYW0-2u3wuY.html

That was a rough crossing! I thought it was going to capsize at 2:22. And that’s a big boat but was lost in the trough in those huge waves!

The band's name was "Hljómsveit Ingimars Eydal" or "Ingimar Eydal's band". The singer's name is Þorvaldur Halldórsson. The song (Walk tall) was written by the American songwriter Don Wayne and was recorded with Icelandic lyrics in 1965.

No, I grew up there. Im talking about the channel into the harbour. The cliffs underneath the waves formed a channel. I have seen a few stranded ships there during my lifetime. f.ek. Mariane Danielsen , Hrafn III, Skúmur, Eldhamar (five men died). Very dangerous but after it was dug out in a straight entrance it is much safer.

@geimfar

Many ships have not made it through this channel and lives have been lost. In 1991 you had to follow a narrow channel in the rock below. You can see the ship taking a steep turn in 3:18 to follow it. Today this channel has been dug out and made straight for easier access. 1989 f.ek. Mariane Danielsen stranded there.
