If you desperately need one of these? I just made 2 of em in about 5 minutes. I found a couple M5 hex nuts that fit the fastners then I took some scarp steel "plumbers tape which is steel bendable tape with holes ever 1/2" or so but lacking this one could use soup can and som tin snips to make strips except then you have to punch or drill holes. I simply trimmed the width using sheetment shears/tin spnips/aka Wiss Aircraft shears and bent the steel stips all the way over so 2 holes lined up then I mixed up a tiny amount of epoxy and simply centered a nut over a hole on each piece ...when they are all set tomorrow then I will simply push em in place just like the factory Yamaha sells and put the side panels back in place....I COULD have simply ordered em but minimum shipping is like 10 bucks and takes a week or more! Very proud of myself. BTw you maybe could cut tin can with household scissors in a pinch but it wont do your scissors any good! And you COULD use a hammer and a nail to punch holes a little one on one side to force a sheetmetal screw into and a larger hold on the othe side to clear the screw but would not be nearly as strong as what I made ....just sayin
I’m restoring running boards from a 2000 Ford Explorer and I had to remove the bolts which were held on by push nuts and normal nuts. I destroyed most of the push nuts but I’m glad I found the exact same type that Ford used in the late 90’s on eBay, as they’re still made today.
In the application I was using these things in the insert would just spin without deploying. Sized down the drill bit for the next hole even and again, the same issue. Gonna just go buy the rivet type instead if these threaded ones. I pray everyone else has better luck with these and don't get as humbled as I have with em
These are the worst hose clamps that I've seen in a long time. The clamps are mostly one-time use. Maybe the worst of all is the VISA-E clamp type. You need sharp tools to destructively remove them. I do not recommend clamps from Caillau.
@@advancecomponentsinc VISA-E is from Caillau as well. I guess most (all?) products from Caillau are rubbish. I believe the material is good, but the clamping technology is terribly poor.
Thanks for your question! The A-K Series™ Knurled Threaded Insert features a knurled body and a reduced profile head to allow for virtually flush installation. Countersink drilling or dimpling of the parent material can be eliminated. The A-K Insert is designed to be used with Grade 5 or Metric Class 8.8/9.8 mating screws.
..good question! I wanna see a video on how to remove Trim pieces in a Buick Rendezvous, without damaging the Plastic Tab, that's behind the trim or panel piece. So far, I haven't succeeded, I can't see how to remove them, without damaging the plastic trim tabs behind the panel or trim piece.
@@advancecomponentsinc That is true. I just don't like stuff that has one use only but now that I've dealt with them I do see the reason they are used in certain applications. So maybe not so bad.....
Thanks for your question Charlie. Yes, AVK inserts will catch two thin sheets of metal. Please contact our sales team for all application support - 972-446-5500.
How to remove the Hillman Spring nut from it's location? Do you need a special tool for that? I need to remove very rusted fastener of this type from the car battery box. Thank you for the film.
@@advancecomponentsinc I removed it already by pressing in between top and bottom part of it with a flat screwdriver and breaking it. Comes off pretty easy that way. Thank you for the tel #, I might have other questions on the size or other applications. Thank you for the film again.
