As I play reforged on the Xbox I can tel you part of the problem is the type of people who are playing it. A lot of them are battle field and war zone players who don’t wanna play the game realistically they wanna play it like call of duty. It’s a far cry from the servers on arma 3 which I play on my pc almost everyday
The best way to play is on a modded server. The problem is - every modded server is run by an ROTC grad, or somebody who was actually in the military (probably admin clerk or a radio operator) and they have a full blown discord milsim with ranks and fake names and its just...what....the...fuck..... Why can't I just find one group that plays modern mods that organizes games, ops, has people that take turns doing game master duties....? Its either children..... or overgrown children who 'almost joined' or are 'basically the same thing as infantry' in real life. Jesus Christ.
They need to badly update the graphics and animations on this game. Being a mil sim is the only thing it’s got going and it’s AI is terrible and player count very bad. So doesn’t really have anything going. They have had the same problems for over 10 years never bothered fixing them
Definitely needs the AI patrolling, retaking bases, calling in reinforcements - and for the real players, they need more reasons to work together and skirmish less. Teamwork is great, but right now the most impactful plays in conflict is a single player taking the stray empty bases away from the main combat centres.
The way to improve vehicles in squad is in fact only realistic internals. The "HP" for vehicles just don't work well. An APSFDS shouldn't do nothing if i hit a T-72B3's ammo.
The main cause of problems is the fact that the server needs to sync every single item in your inventory on every single player. This is a huge cause of the replication errors. Unfortunately this isnt a "easy to fix" solution since Bohemia has been doubling down on this system with every update. expect Arma 4 to have the same amount of problems
What I find most impressive about Reforger is that when your are resting your weapon, with a Bipod or not, you can still move and slide around on the surface you're attached to, so on a window frame I can slide from the left to the right side of the frame without breaking my contact with the surface, really great stuff
The push you described is a death sentence for armor IRL and in game. This isn't cod, tanks shouldn' be able to roll into the objective without being scared. Also ICO already made infantry weak af. Changes you suggest makes armor way more OP. Hard pass.
If there's one thing I would like from a vehicle overhaul it's: GEAR SHIFTING. I need to be able to pop the low gear when climbing hills. I also hate that the engine noise is generic/not tied to the speed. Have you tried driving in Arma Reforger? It's hella fun, I want that In Squad.
If we add weapon resting in With the current sway of weapon i think it gonna make people dive for cover more, but that also gonna make ambushing more op than even now
Rising Storm 2 Vietnam (and probably Rising Storm 1 as well, not sure since i don't have it) has this gunresting system. Absolutelly 0 people have complained about it, and I find it to be a pretty useful and cool system.
Squad dev's when APS,ERA,Spall liners,composite armor,vehicle components that can shield the crew if hit only damaging the vehicle like the engine exist: "I'll just imagine it how i want it and I'll go ahead and ignore logic just like how i ignored optimization."
Initially it was because that base was out of our friendlies radio network range. So it couldn’t be capture at the start of the video. But as the team progressed through objectives it eventually became able to capture :)
@tedarcher9120 Bruh. It's completely the opposite for me. Squad runs at 70 or 90 ultra. Post Scriptum won't go past 50 even at lowest after this last update. And it makes sense considering that it's an older version of UE 4
This would be cool, if it had come a year ago before they ruined infantry combat with their ICO. Now you feel like a toddler using his first rifle. Every gun feelsnlike it weighs as much as an M2 and your soldier suddenly forgot how to acquire his sights, has the stamina of your average reddit mod, and the recoil control of an epileptic at a disco.
Mate, I know you have a small channel and you like pure speculation, but cmon, before making something like that, please verify your info. For your informantion in Squad 8.0 was added a T-90A, not an "M" variant, that tank is basically a T-72 with new welded turret, a couple cm of armor, better engine and LWS. That APS you talking about is not installed on it. Although T-90A has "Shtora" (Red Eyes), the maximum capabilities of which is in theory disroupt ATGM guidance, it will not work against Javelin. P.S Even T-90M does not have an APS, what has been proven by the Ukrainians.
They at least could make a difference in the stability when you change stance. Obviously it is extremely hard to hold a heavy weapon upright, the second you duck you have an option to rest your arm against your knee. When you are in prone you can rest against the ground. For a game this might be enough right now, but realism could be increased with the stuff I've mentioned.
Yeah Squad is pretty unrealistic in a variety of fashions. Much of the devs efforts to incorporate realism resulted in exaggeration over authenticity. Trying to simulate player character stress, fatigue and felt recoil required a deft hand. We got a very heavy handed approach instead.
Squad has to introduce better role to Armor I feel like its not being used at all for example on Invasion Basrah u cant take Airport even if u have all of armor support and shit because they all get inside buildings and no matter what u do u cant do enough for team and I guess only thing to do is probabbly buff HEAT round to do bigger dmg or increase its lethal radius as well dealing more dmg to structures emplaced because In order to destory 1 Observation tower u have to put in 7 to 10 heat rounds and I dont feel like that is normal when house gets oblitirated with 2 shells thrown on it they have to increase its utilty if it costs 1 rocket to get tracked and be out of fight because its very under appriciative
