These photography social media trolls are just looser haters. They have nothing better to do than make up stupid rules and judge judge judge. The majority of them have no talent. That is why they attack. All social media venues are toxic. Some worse than others, but I have to still find a photography community where people are actually nice. You keep doing the excellent work you do and as you say: do whatever you want. End of story. Thanks Stewart.
Hi Stewart, excellent video as always. I would like to know if there is any way to reduce the 'blurred ghosting' around parts of my stacks. Thanks for the great content and information.
Thanks Stewart for explaining thoroughly! Some homework for me to check how to improve my system. I will for sure look into more space to save the files. Really like your way of keeping them for 3 years and then delete if not used,
Absolute breath of fresh air Stewart ...sooo appreciate your no bs approach and honesty. Only recently discovered your site and look forward to watching and learning more from you. Cheers 😉
Hello Stewart ! I enjoy your informative content a lot. The images that you make are amazing. I have a question below, kindly see if you can answer I found OM-1 expensive so is EM-1 II is a good option instead for macro work ? Or I should wait for opportunities to buy used OM-1 ? Lens that I am considering is Olympus 12-50mm 3.5-6.3 with AF extension tube. With AF Extension tube I expect focus stacking with EM-1 II Kindly advise. Thank you 🙏🏾 - Rahul Deshpande (India)
@@StewartWoodArt ! Thank you for the response I am getting EM-1 II almost new in 470~ USD. OM-1 1500 USD new, used one may be around 1100. I can add a 60mm macro as well if I go for EM-1 II .. just happen to see your video few mins back on EM-1 ii Vs OM-1 Vs OM-1 ii
What I love, besides your work, is your honesty. Tell it like it is and if you don't like it (p**s o*f) move on. I would also like to give you a big thank you for helping out your fellow photographer Lee Hall. It was so nice that your were able to help get him back in the game. Bravo Stewart!
Yep been shooting macro for the last year as an add-on to my landscape photography and been shooting with Olympus for 10 years. Searched the internet for diffusers and luckily found out about Cygnustech - bought one for my 60mm macro lens and V350 Godox and love the setup! Just makes macro shoots so much easier. And the fact that the diffuser packs flat is one of the biggest advantages IMO as I travel a lot! 😉👍
Oh I’ll definitely check out this video! So thankful that you’ve published this because I’m currently doing research regarding iPhone macro lenses. Have you tried the SANDMARC Macro Lens too? If so, do you experience any particular differences between them & which brand do you prefer between the two? I’ll watch the video now 😊
@@StewartWoodArtOh interesting! Will you be posting videos about that too? Just wanted to let you know also that there seems to be some troubles with the closed captions on the video. They’re not working atm.
@@StewartWoodArt Hey Stewart. Thanks for the quick reply! Are you able to expand on that a little? The non-periprobe Laowa is used for still quite a bit (although it's not a cine lens). I guess, is there a certain aspect of the cine version that makes it not ideal for photos. I only ask because I'm a multimedia shooter and while I'll probably mostly use the periprobe for video, would still like to use it for stills as well if possible. Thanks for any insight you can provide!
Hello everyone, maybe someone can give me some guidance, I want to buy a OM-1 Mark II for macro photography but Im a little lost on lens mounting system. The Olympus 90mm is a little out of my price range I wanted to get a Laowa 90mm but I don’t know if it will fit the camera because when you choose a mounting system, they don’t offer it in the micro four thirds which I believe it’s mounting system for Olympus. Can anyone give me some guidance on what laowa lens will work with OM-1 Mark II. Thank you 🙏
Hello Steward ! Great video.. really amazing photos.. I need your suggestion- I am a Nikon user. I am impressed by OM-1 but it’s costly I see that EM1-II does focus stacking and Procapture as well. Is it good enough for Macro and Birds ? Or I shall wait for opportunities to own OM-1 ? Is OM-1 way better than EM1-II ? Thank you - Rahul Deshpande (India)
Got mine last week, needed a second body on top of my OM-1 for a safari. Got her for 1650 Eur - which is the price the mk 1 now is available. Could not resist. My name is Anis and I have GAS (Gear Aquisition Syndrome) ;-).
Focusbracketing: The OM1 m1 goes to 1/100 with flash but 1/250 without flash. Usable when shooting in bright sunlight ( but use mostly flash…). For butterfly’s in flight (pre-capture actually) I’m missing the “insect subject recognition” so use “bird recognition” instead… Mixed results…works sometimes depending on the butterfly or insect… An update could help here, please !!! But indeed have the OM1 m1 and won't upgrade
Thanks very much Stewart. I have the OM1and did wonder about the mark 2. I think I will stick with what I have. I think I would be better on improving my technique. :)
Earlier this year I got the OM-5 as a second camera for macro work, because I did have money to burn but not enough for the om1. And I am glad I got this one. Even if it has the older sensor, menu etc, it works great! I do not use it for anything else then macro.
Great video man. I trully appreciate the very in depth comparison. Although I chose to upgrade to the om-1 mk1 soon after it was released, I won't upgrade to the mkii as I find there is very little improvement here.. I heard om system simply had to release a mkii because of naming reason as they no longer has the right to use the olympus brand name. Ence the small differences between the two cameras. But there are two points I would like to talk about even if they don't improve IQ: OM-1 has a better menu system and a much better viewfinder than the EM-1. I find that the OM-1 is easier to setup and I definitely think it's easier to see if the insect is in focus before pressing the shutter. I really hope that the futur OM-1 mkiii will have a big sensor resolution upgrade. 20MP is quite low these days..
Very nice comparison video! I upgraded from EM1.3 to OM1.1 because I need the AF and subject recognition. Was thinking of upgrading one of my OM1.1 to OM1.2 but decided against it. My buddy got OM1.2 to compliment his R5 so I got first hands experience comparison for what I shoot, mostly wildlife, family and sport. Anyhow, you are clearly super talented with those beautiful macro images. Cheers.
