Hi Stuart, Greetings from North Yorkshire. I've just turned 60 and as a result of a sports injury (a long time ago) I've struggled to kneel down and get back up when doing macro. So I now have a small 3 legged camping stool with me that works a treat for me to get down low.

Stewart, excellent suggestions and tips! Thanks. One tip I picked up years ago and use to this day is always having a bit of gaffers tape with me in my camera bag. Not a whole roll, of course :). Take a length of gaffers tape (.5 meters or any length really) and tear it in half the long length. then wrap it around a plastic hotel room key (we have all taken one home in our pockets by accident) or credit card size plastic. I then put it in a small zip lock bag (I use one that an allen wrench was in that came with my ball head) to keep it clean. Slide it in a camera bag pocket and I always have some tape with me. compact and light. I actually had a tripod leg lock break on me halfway through a landscape workshop away from home. I was able to tape the leg open for the remainder of the workshop and save me.

The super clamp idea gave me an idea! You can attach it to the 1/4 thread at the bottom for your camera and clip the insect and leaf to it. The distance between you and your subject you be very similar every time then?

one of mine that you never mentioned was a few extra stops of light, i usually carry a 1 and 2 stop of extra light as i very rarely need more than that.

Good afternoon, Stewart your clip on lens are you using step up or step down fittings to get that clip on lens onto your lens or are you just using a very small lens in the beginning because I noticed it was only a 49 mm lens to start with

Quick question, with the Macro 60mm lens for Olympus, I noticed the filter size if 46 but for the snap on lens you mentioned, multiple sizes but does not mention the screw on size. Before I pull the trigger, I just want to make sure it will fit my Olympus lens correctly. Forgive my ignorance on this, just been burned before and want to make sure I get the right thing the first time. Thanks for the inspiration and look forward to shooting some macro shots.

I use the Nisi 49mm close up lens with a 46mm to 49mm step up ring. Works great.

That flash is based on the Canon MT-24EX, now replaced by the Canon MT-26EX-RT. Perhaps that manual(s) would be helpful. Good news, the Yongnuo manual is on their website: th.hkyongnuo.com/u_file/2307/07/file/YN24EX-manual.pdf

I have an old Tripod whose center tube column is threaded on the bottom but there are no attachments for what I believe is M15 x 1 female. I hoping to find an attachment for macro photography. Any thoughts?

@@StewartWoodArt I just packed it but I doubt I could find a name on it so I will have to get back to you. The video tripod is about 40 years old which I purchased overseas. I may just stack a couple of threaded pop rivets down to 1/4-20 as I could not find anything that was M15 x 1. Do you know of any that would fit that size? The tripod will crank up to about 6 feet without the head.

I don’t believe so, Olympus is great for focus stacking and the older models still perform great.

The moment you said, go ahead people, be destructive to the environment, it's okay to not leave the environment the way you found it and don't let anyone tell you otherwise... You have said some questionable things in previous videos that seemed morally eye brow raising. But, that last statement was enough for me to, Pause the video, set the channel to never recommend again.
