I love how your light table is high and that you don't have to bend over your glass as you cut. What a smart idea!! How long have you been doing stained glass?
Yes, I like the height of the light table. Though sometimes it's too high for the darker pieces when I want to look straight down on them. Self taught working with glass starting in 2011 building little crafty things and the last 5 years really honing the skill into artist outlet. www.woodenglassart.com/

Oh, my goodness; I didn’t think your original version could be improved upon. This is amazing-quality work and artistry! And you have such a steady hand, making the stencils for the handpainted book spines. I love the bonus of the solar powered lighting!
That is jjust epic and beautiful. Thank you for detailed journey! Stenciling was amazing. I can just picture someone telling a story about how when they were little, there was this beautiful, magical jewel box in their neighborhood, and their were books inside! And it's how they fell in love with reading! Just an amazing gift to your community.
Thank you for the comment and compliment. We have lots of kids in our area and that was one of the primary thoughts when creating it. A place where kids can find something interesting and on occasion I throw some comic books for the kids. Keeps them checking in on it. As well, thank you for the creative image of the story that's possible. I can image it now being recite 50 years from now. Makes me smile just to think of that!

Wow that is probably the coolest thing I've ever seen, we have then in Australia only in rural towns that I've seen, & they are just so basic old cupboards, this is gorgeous but with all that effort I'd be too scared of vandals breaking it or stealing it, but brilliant work. Yr stuff is just so top notch 😊

WoW I couldn't believe this is yr first commission piece, yr work is awesome, you could be making a decent amount of money for yr pieces, because yr work is very professional & excellent quality, I'm so impressed, I aspire to be as good as you. Thankyou for sharing yr brilliant ideas. I live the light box too, did you make that, I can't find my little light pad, so I need a big one so I can't miss it lol. 😁

The only advise I can give is "practice practice practice , always push your limits and don't be afraid of failing". You will find yourself improving with each and every project. I look back on some of my early projects and I can see the progression and so will you. Yes I made the light box as well.
WoW !!! I have done glass for 2years & have not attempted anything round because I'm no good at math, trigonometry I couldn't do it, unless I good get a copyright pattern. You are a true artist all the jigs & working out & also making it work as a light, I'm in awe & inspired, thanks for sharing 😊

It looks beautiful. I don't understand the door hinge and latch part. I saw a rod for the hinge and saw that you soldered it to one edge of the door but I don't see how the hinge ends are connected to the frame to give it a pivot point that allows it to open and close.

I use whiting powder on most of my projects; foil or came. Its a gentle abrasive and is great with removing ink marks on the glass and great at cleaning excess flux.
Out of an abundance of caution I prefer not to show how the electrical wiring is done. That said, I used a 6" long tubular shaped LED bulb in the soft white spectrum. I get different shaped patterns depending on the shape of the bulb. Its very interesting.

Thank you for responding and the complement. Glad to hear people are enjoying it. Its called "Whiting Powder" and is composed of 100% calcium carbonate. Its used as a cleaning agent to remove excess flux, oil, cement, and other residue from stained glass projects. Cleans up and absorbs putty from leaded glass panels. As its also abrasive, its good for remove the numbered ink marks on the glass.
