Great gameplay really been enjoying your vids. Armand is really hard to win with in 4th position. So glad you found the worm riders to smuggling play in round 7! Very hard to see that. I think shipping first on round 8 might have won you the game with the extra bump and troops. Either way this game showcases the power of Tessia. Very strong influence leader. Hope you play her soon!
On round 7 instead of trashing Foldspace with selective, you could have trashed Ix-guild for the extra 2 negotiators making your next tech purchase -4. and getting rid of 2 no persuasion cards. :)
@@bludgeontv yes sorry, also men-tat as well is often very strong just because it allows you to have perfect information for combats bc you get to go last.
Hi, on turn 5 you asked what I would do. I think you missed an opportunity to heighliner with your folspace. It gives you the 2 waters you need for Sayyadyna, you bank an extra bump with the guild to use your Shifting allegiances for which you still have 2 spices and, you get to deploy in Combat to cash in Staged Incident. You may even get a combat reward if not win out right if you deploy the 7 troops. Like the content. From somewhere in Québec right?
Hey, reading myself I thought I might have been unclear in what I was trying to explain… At 33:22, before you ask the audience their thoughts, you have a foldspace that you send to research station to draw. That’s when you could have played heighliner. But anyways congrats on the win and viewership.
You lost because for some reason you were avoid using swords from a Worm ruders. 4 swords was probably enough to win last battle. And by doing this, you were able to steal your imperium alliance from the red. And also she wouldn't have allience with Bene Gesserit. So next round you could use Jessica + intrigue card to have two extra points (bene jesserit influence + all four options for intrigue card) and maybe even have another Spice must flow it you use Jessica on Selective breeding
I highly recommend to take water peddler first round. Not only it gives you water once acquire it but you can also trash it in round 4-6 , getting around 4-5 water total which is huge.
First, thanks - I'm glad you like the videos! As for the pronunciations, these are made-up words from a book. Different readers will pronounce them in different ways, that's just how it goes.
It feels like your early game lacks a plan a little bit and I think that plan should usually be (a) get Swordmaster asap or (b) get a lot of shipping done. For example your masterstroke seemed a bit random. You're putting in 4 troops for an intrigue and some spice, as well as an influence point with Fremen (where you already had 2 points, so it's not super valuable at that point) and Guild (where you had 0). At that point, Red went Shipping. Next turn, Red will go shipping again and you can hopefully Foldspace. Turn 4, you can go Shipping, but then on turns 5, 6, and 7, Red will be able to get Shipping before you, so it's not really that valuable.
I get bad draws/hands like that fold space all the time in Imperium. I think it's pretty standard for computer games to be rigged for various reasons today. For example, people have discussed how Hearthstone is rigged for overall balance in match-ups in order to maximize the number of people who buy more cards hoping to gain advantage that way. I myself have seen in Hearthstone just too high a proportion of matches where one deck is the perfect foil of another (and even the card drawing within those matches are ridiculously timed) versus those where they are not to expect they're not rigged. But I also see the same thing in Star Realms, et c.. If it's occurring in Dune Imperium, I assume the balancing could be to minimize the number of players who stop playing online.
notice that, in mid game when you grid the draw and draw the foldspace, so you couldn't have spice must flow, you bought that clutch treachery instead!!! sometimes a bad thing turns out to be a blessing!
Congratz on your first win! I played the crap out of ranked since it came out, people rarely leave and play way better which is fun and more challenging. Really looking forward to immortality but i don't think it comes this year. Funny how i own all expansions irl but can never find people to play with and this digital version kinda fixed this problem :D
on turn 5, you could have jumped up with the Fremen, got the water, and then later on you can always jump back down with Fremen and up somewhere else, and then back up to the alliance level with Jamis. In my experience, with Shifting Allegiances, it doesn't matter as much where you're putting the alliance points since you can move them around, so the question becomes more about which level 4 bonus you want. Usually, that's water, and in your situation even more so, since you had no water but already more than enough solari for everything
I agree that the water would have been better than the Solari at that point. I like your idea, I think it might have been a bit riskier though in terms of securing the Alliances.
I would have gone to smuggling last action r4. You get the 1 solari anyway so you'd have 2, enough for either 2 mentats or a dreadnought. It also makes future shipping better. Although to be fair, red's plays were so weird, it would have been hard to play either way
For me the games per week is more about game quality I can sit and appreciate great play all day 12 hours strait. But i get really trigger when you time out stopped the first video after time out for example because the ai that takes over is usually just so bad it screwed the entire rest of the game up. I watch to learn things to incorporate them into my own games. For me I’m always planning things out before it’s even my turn so that soon as it is I’m not taking my timer just deciding my move and can get through all my actions.
I can understand your perspective, and I appreciate the feedback. It can be frustrating to watch someone make mistakes. I will say that the philosophy behind my channel is not necessarily to be an example of expert or perfect play, but rather to watch and join me on my journey of discovery. Viewers can watch as I experiment, make mistakes, and learn and improve as I go.
I added the music myself in this video, mostly to try to cover up bad audio from my mic - this was the first one of these videos that I did. The sound improves a lot in my newer ones :) The game itself actually has really cool background music though.
Nice game! Rough opener, but I like those, they make you think outside the box. I would probably go hardy warriors into tech negotiators, because with 2 daggers it's hard to refuse a fight. But with Leto, you could go bonkers and try going emperor for solari, and dreadnaught on t1 and go ridiculous fighting deck from there. Well, in non-ranked probably worth a try;) On round 3, you could consider going selective breeding with foldspace, instead of stillsuits. I'd probably still go with stillsuits myself, but a chance for grabbing power play and trimming that fat deck is a serious consideration. On round 5 a hilarious alternative would be A1 - tech negotiators buy holtzman, A2 - pass, buy spice must flow. If an opponent did that to me, I would freak out a bit, because man, that's a ballsy play. I respect the discipline in not picking up choam delegate though. I would likely take the bait, even though it is a bad play, because choam delegates, there's something about them. Round 6 agent 2 for me is always Ix guild compact ditching mommy and dune for that second dreadnought. A superflous fold space is a low price to pay I think. Round 7 you had 2 chances to trash mommy Mohiam to recoup your spice and go heighliner. Chances of redrawing her next round, assuming there is next round - rather slim, and if you could redraw her one more time, would you want to anyway? Round 8 Shifting into smuggling -> down, pickup two spice, was there. A win is a win, so feel free to ignore my ramblings:) Answering the poll: Any number of videos is great. Consider adding leader names in title in brackets or something. Do some viewer games! I might stick around to 2 am CET to queue:) Have a good day!
Very well played and a deserved win. At the moment i'm kind of debating with myself, because I like the base game so much and I still have to figure out a lot of things. Ranked play is very appealing, but starting with rise of Ix when there is still so much to learn in the base game feels "wrong" to me. But I really enjoy RoI content
I felt the same way as you, I didn't want to play Rise of Ix until I had a long time to explore the base game. Skipping to Ix would have meant depriving myself one of the best games ever made. At this point I am ready to dive into Rise of Ix, but I don't want to leave base game completely behind and I do wish there were a ranked queue for it.
Thank you for the playthrough videos! They helped me get a better understanding of the mechanics around the dragon attacks and the difference between having or not an artifact when getting knocked out 😁 Also, I wasn't aware about the fact that you get a dragon attack for each player that has escaped on Catacombs! That's wild! 😨 Have you tried the solo campaigns for Clank Catacombs?
Hey, really glad to hear you enjoyed the videos! It is interesting how different some of the rules are between Clank! versions, but I guess it makes sense that they'd iterate and make adjustments/improvements. I think I played a bit of the solo mode for Catacombs when I was learning the game.
