Hi Jesse, I'm a brazilian citizen and US resident applicant. I'm also a Civil Engeneering Bachelor in Brazil and intend to be a General Contractor in Florida once I get my Greencard and move to the US. I understand that in order to work in the Building Business in the state of Florida I must submit for a Licence and for that I'm analysing the requirements needed. Regarding the 4 year construction-related degree from an accredited college + 1 year proven experience applicable to the category, I wonder if my degree in Brazil as well as my experience in civil engeneering will be validated once I submit my application after meeting the other requirements?
I couldn't agree more. This is why the general construction trade has degraded over the decades. To a bunch of people who pay money to take a test that they got the answers online. They can start a construction company not knowing anything about the subs, their trades, or how the tools work. I have watched my profession degrade to a point where Tik Tok and social media users make a living off of the mistakes that are constantly made by GCs, not knowing what they're doing. There is truth in what he said, but knowing the tools and knowing the trades is more important than knowing the paperwork. If you can't produce a quality product, please stay out of the profession. We live in an age of realtor, investor house flippers, and quick cash grabs. Nearly every house I walk has major issues, some very dangerous due to lack of framing knowledge. Please be cautious of how you advise people.
Absolute facts right here guys!!! And these facts didn’t even cost any of you a penny but it’s the most important words you’ll ever hear!! Please guys, listen to this and take it to heart if you have any plans of succeeding long term with your construction company!! I wish someone would have said this exact same thing to me prior to 2007 when I woke up one morning to find out my million dollar construction company was gone. It was gone because of one of the key items he mentioned in this video was not watched closely enough because I was splitting my time between office and tools and should have been 100% office!! Please guys, don’t lose your dream like I did, listen to this video!!!
Great info. My problem is getting timely bids from serious subs when I don't have the job yet. They're always asking ,do you have the job yet? If not they put me on the back burner. Then, I'm shooting in the dark or working on previous averages to get a number out timely.

What if what I want to do doesn’t fit into any “contractor” categories in FL, but then I still can’t make much per job because I’m not a contractor. It’s kinda messed up.
What did they do, hold the door open for you? Just kidding, I got mine at 23 but a subcontractor license, but on a serious note it’s interesting how in some states becoming a general contractor or contractor is like a bowl of candy,as described by the wonderful (cough cough) members on the California licensing board, any one can do it, take for example Washington Ohio Maine Vermont or Texas , while in California or Nevada, you gotta do a circus stunt to get that license, since their requirements are most onerous than others , level the playing field and make the industry uniform, equally regulated as the White House executive order in 2015 on occupational licensing required of state lawmakers

Whats the point of doing millions a year when your only gonna make a few percent? I feel like you guys have it wrong. Enlighten me on my opinion please maybe im not understanding something
I like how you state during your brief ad for your business for coaching business. How if you're interested in running that type of construction company then hit me up. Folks, you don't have to run the type of business he operates where you only work an hour a week. If you are happy working within your business, then build better systems. Utilize the coaching program to help your own systems
