really nice! I think the C and Ab are played in octaves ie middle c, c octave down, g, Ab, ab octave down, f. at least from my attempts to cover the song. Fantastic tone and rendition though!!
I never understood the hate Mr N got from the music press in his early days. He was what? 20? when he composed, produced and recorded this awesome use of the synthesiser, well arranged, full use of the range of the keyboard.
The music press back then was full of snobbery. Bitterness too. The press liked to champion someone and build them up. Numan blindsided them all. He did it all without their help, and they resented him for it, so they tried to tear him down. It was a horrible sight too. Old men ripping into a 21 year old kid and trying to destroy him. They should have been thoroughly ashamed of themselves, but weren't. Are 'Friends' Electric? Was and still is amazing. Replicas was and still is amazing. What Numan produced between 78 and 81 has stood the test of time incredibly well. It's still inspiring new artists. He was miles ahead of the game. He's had the last laugh too. He's playing sell-out shows at home and abroad while the sad old negative heads who slaughtered him back in the day are long forgotten.

I do show it at 14:13 It's just a square wave. Set LFO to Square. Modulate Amp via LFO, as in video. It's basically turning the volume on/off very quickly. Hope this helps.
They don't sound exactly the same, Moog as subtile better dynamic feel and classic tune character, while the Model D is more in your face modern sounding, but I wonder if Model D with aged components would make it the same ? As it can make big differences.
Well spotted. Yes, the Moog is slightly softer and gentle. The pots are more precise, maybe the D’s little pots don’t help. I generally leave the D on 1 bass setting and use the Moog for everything else. Thanks for watching 👍
Great right to the point video. Nice sounding pedal. Would love to try the D through a Strymon Nightsky but unless I give one to one of my kids for xmas its not going to happen for a while : ) thank you for this. Subscribed. Keep em coming.
@@analogsynthplayer I've had to open up and calibrate my Behringer Model D a couple of times (owned it for over four years). I use the information from the Behringer video on doing it (not the Marshall Arnold video). It is easy to do, but you need a sequencer or keyboard that can send it the notes A2 and A5. I used a Keystep Pro for that. I also let my analog synths (Prologue 16, Behringer Model D and K2). warm up for 20 minutes before playing them. That helps keep them in tune.
Love my Polybrute, will never let this one go as it will go on to be acknowledged as a classic synth in years to come. Easy to lose hours exploring it, such a tactile immersive pleasure
Great sound. Amazes me how underrated and in fact criticised this synth is. I find it inspiring and so very versatile when you take into account all the engines you can load into it. Roland takes a lot of crap and certainly deserves some of it, but I'm really happy with my Juno-X.
Thanks, very kind of you to say! Yes it's very underrated, and probably misunderstood by many. It's a joy to use, and for me, that's the most important part. Cheers
@@MusicZeroOne oh great I have a beatstep !! I'm gonna look into buying one I had the behringer pro 1 that thing was OK for 200 but it never could fit in my mixes and I could never find the sweet spots I guess u get what u pay for
