I work hard restoring old movies (I don't download and upload from the archive, I download and restore and upload to RU-vid) and make drone and time-lapse videos. I also make noise with instruments and have a couple of songs published, nodules and looking after my disabled son as a single parent has quite much put an end to my rock and roll days for the foreseeable future, but I wouldn't change a thing. My kids are my life, I work hard to provide for them and every day is a blessing to be with them.
Mary Pickford is not in this movie! Also, your plot description has nothing to do with the story told in 'The Sunbeam'. Click on the Imdb link you've provided yourself to see the accurate cast and plot information.
Thank you for pointing this out. I have removed the wrong description and Mary Pickford from the title. Now I need to find the film that has The Sunbeam description because it will be on the wrong film.
@@SimonWard1 Yeah, I've been trying to find that out too, out of curiosity. The plot sounds familiar, but I haven't found a match so far. Having seen almost every available Mary Pickford movie, I doubt that the description belongs to a Pickford film though.
I think they had a hangover for a few days, plants all gone again :( The snails, you will see one in the video, go and have a drink and then go off, not in a very straight line :)
Wow interesting thanks for the video! I remember the upstairs neighbour of my grandpa in Switzerland, an old lady she used to collect all the slugs (which were a pest) and cut them in half individually with a scizzor LOL actually morbid. My pa used to boil them, but this seems a more civil solution.
Yes cutting them in half does sound quite morbid. I like the idea that they are able to have a drink, get drunk and then expire, probably not knowing they are expiring lol.
I'm onto it for you, it is in the public domain and I have found a copy on the archive. It's not a great copy so will take some time, hopefully have it ready for Saturday evening :) This is what I will be working with here archive.org/details/St.BennyTheDip
@@SimonWard1 that's great news! I remember the sound was in need of fixing as well. I went as far to work on the sound during the one song Dick Haymes sang. Looking forward to this!!
Great restoration! This is such an improvement over the old fuzzy film that's floating around the internet. Thanks for taking so much of your time to restore and post this film!
As always, thank you so much :) I have another for members only uploading, will put it live as soon as it's uploaded and queue it up for the weekend to go public :)
Amazing work !! Thank you. Quick question, Is the video software open source? 30 -60 hour's must use a ton of HDD storage. I would love to learn your method's.
Thank you. Yes I need a lot of drives because it's important to store all the work I do as a hard copy. Each enhancement is between 18GB and 80GB, depending on the length of each film and if I use 4K or HD. Very time consuming. I'm having a little break from it but will be uploading 2 or 3 a week, leaving the PC to do the work which can take between 20 - 70 hours per restoration.
Venetia Stephenson's mom was one of the nuns in The Sound of Music. Her dad was some Disney producer I think. Then she married one of the Everly Bros and their daughter was married to Axl Rose. How's that for some degrees of separation between The Sound of Music and Guns and Roses.
Great restoration - crisp B&W film with great clarity as clean as when it was released. The contrast between the quality here and other channels is striking. Thanks for all of your work and the opportunity to see the film in like-new condition!
As always, thank you for your continued support, you are greatly appreciated :) Sorry if the uploads will be a little bit less over the next couple of weeks. I have friends staying and the kids summer holidays. I will be back full time from September and hopefully will have many more public domain movies to restore :)
Thank you for sharing the process. Very informative. I'm completely ignorant of what's involved or how any of these types of enhancements are done. Makes me appreciate your dedication and effort that much more.
Thank you so much for watching. I will be including the process in every restoration I do, not only to show that I do work on each movie but also some people do find it interesting. Thank you :)
Thank you for watching. I will be including the before and after in every restoration that I do. I think it's good to show that I do work on the restorations, it helps with the "re-used" content policy that RU-vid have but also I find it quite interesting too, seeing the side by side. Just takes a lot longer to put together than a straight restoration upload. iMovie is what I use to stitch the parts together, my Macbook is beginning to fail me, what was hours can take days!
Thank you very much Simon, a lovely print! A rare title that badly needs restoring is the British film The Cure for Love (1949), the only film that Robert Donat directed himself. It is in poor condition and any restoration would be an improvement. If you can come up with a good print that would be wonderful. Many thanks.
Thank you for watching and glad you enjoyed it :) Unfortunately, I can't seem to find The Cure for Love in the public domain, archive or Wikipedia. I will keep searching, it is 1949 so chances are, it will fall into the public domain hopefully soon.
I have this flick in one of my dvd collections and it never gets old for me. You've done an awesome improvement on this. The clarity and sharpness are incredible! We appreciate your dedication to preserving films and keeping them relevant for us old timers and new fans alike. Bravo!
It took the best part of a week to do, corrupt enhancement, was driving me crazy. I had to start from scratch and it worked :) It's raining bad here too when the sun should be cracking the tiles :( Anyway, I hope you enjoy it :)
Muchas gracias por compartir tan lindo video de una gran serie 😊😊. Me encantan las actuaciones del gran Shemp Howard y la hermosa Christine McIntyre. 😊❤❤😊.
In the telephone booth, Moe : " Can you dial from there ?" Shemp : "No. Can you?" Moe : " Yeah" Moe proceeded dialing Shemp eyes ( the dialing sound made it more funny )
I love the music, very lucky to have a great RU-vid library of musicians who allow their content to be used for free. They don't even ask for credit, but I give it to them anyway, that is the least I can do.
