I liked the movie 9 years ago, fresh into college when I wasn't actively watching Power Rangers, and I thought it was a corny kids show. So watching this was blowing my mind. But now that I'm an adult and going through the stresses of adulthood, I yearn the simple times of my childhood and that includes PR. So I have been binge-watching the originals on PlutoTV. So my opionion of this short film has changed. It seems like a disrespectful "angsty" film. The 2017 movie was better than this.
If megaforce was the costliest PR season, then where did the money go. Definitely not towards the show as it looked like one of the cheapest toproduce as all they did was just copy and paste the sentai footage. At least in samurai, they had the original cockpit scenes and suits.
"The Ninja Encounter" 3-parter despite introducing Rocky, Aisha and Adam (as Jason, Trini and Zack's actors had quit by this point). Particularly Part 2 as it was just a load of pointless filler. The rangers split into 2 teams. Tommy, Kimberly and Billy are about to rescue their new friends. But have to abort and help the other 3 rangers (to avoid hearing too much of the bad voice doubles) after today's monster, Terror Blossom, conjures up an old monster, Hatchasaurus. Then after defeating Hatchasaurus through badly edited Zyuranger/Dairanger footage, they split again, only for Jason, Trini and Zack to get frozen by Terror Blossom. So the others once again have to abort the rescue to come to their aid.
I’d love to see a cameo of the American exclusive power rangers in a super sentai series of film, the sentai being like “Who’re you guys? You kinda look like sentai like us, but we’ve never heard of people like you” and the ameri-rangers are saying something like (Titanium)“That’s cuz we ain’t sentai, we’re power rangers” while the jungle fury spirit rangers are like “We don’t exists in your universe, we’re from a different one”. My favourites are spirit ranger black, he looks like a toned down psycho ranger, and spirit ranger blue, cuz I like blue rangers, plus two swords.
I don’t think it’s too dark or adult, bc there are ways to handle it in a mature way. I just felt it was too tryhard to be adult and serious but came off as shallow, not even as a parody or anything like that. Honestly I preferred fanfilms like Teenagers with Attitude bc it felt mature but respectful of the franchise and the characters as a whole.
