Is it just me or are several scenes of the video right-left inverted? Also, the Reverse Selector Detente Arm listed in the description on the website doesn’t list the 86 series tractors as compatible models. Did you have to modify them or do they just work?
Hopefully the Chin Li led lights last for lots of field work! I worked at an IH stealership in 74 when the 66 series was still new. Too bad implement dealers paid so poorly. Accrually would have rather been a tractor nechanic but ended up workung on trucks for 25 years. Still love the sound and snell of tractor diesel smoke. Always entertained by your videos! Great work on tractors, the area you live in the farmers must be happy to have you repair t h eir tractors! That was a good looking bird! Keep the videos coming, awesome seeing all these machines still running!
Wow, awesome tractor. It could be the oil cooler gasket though, which would be a way easier fix. I'd get it super clean, get it hot and spend some inspection time on it to be sure!
do you know danny anderson? he uses silver spray paint ,3 coats on the head gaskets, when i had the head redone on my 1466 , my head gasket already had orange sealant on it, from cIH. didn't they change the valve settings to .025 for intake and exhaust? i am just asking questions, for my own knowledge, i know everyone does things different.
I was not only sealing the front cover but also the front plate that is sandwiched in between the front cover and block. Inside the timing cover the cam gear sits on top of the plate, so I had to remove it.
i am die hard IH, love the videos, keep up the great work, i am learning things, but one thing i learned was do drain the hydraulics was to put a hose in number one remote, and put the other end into a empty barrel or if you have help, buckets, start the tractor and use the remotes to drain the hy-tran,. much easier. just my 2 cents.that is how i put clutchs in my 1466, but then that was never the problem, the really small roll pin had snapped for the on/off lever. i am sure you know what roll pin i am talking about .
It seems like yesterday the dealer presented the 2+2, the radio stations mobile unit was there, free hotdogs and drinks. My uncle bought one immediately.
Hey dude,,,,that engine sounds FANTASTIC!! Nicely done. Still got the clutch issue?? And that damn rooster is the bane of yer existence right now. Regular or extra crispy?😅😅😅
Thanks. It was an absolute, here is what i got www.redrunrite.com/inframe-overhaul-kit-diesel-dt466-3588-3788-4366-4386-5288-5488-6588-6788-7288-7388-7488/
I believe it was aviation form a gasket. The new gaskets are not as good as the old ones and it seems as though sometimes they leak on the push rod side. I also put some on the coolant holes if they are pitted.
