I grew up in North Philly in the 70's and as a young boy I spent many hours standing on the platform at North Philadelphia station watching the big GG-1's running from NY to DC along the Northeast corridor, then I would watch the Reading Commuter trains run into Downtown Philly !
Is it just me, or does it seem this engineer is in a hurry to get done? He's got his conductor running to road crossings. No flag or Blairs. Tooo much .
My son is special needs and he loves trains 🚆🛤🚞🚝🚉🚈🚇🚅🚄🚃🚂 especially railcars like m1 & m3 and antique streetcars 🚊🚋 he thinks they are highly underrated rail transportation vehicles and all should be preserved, restored, and put back into service. He is also glad the East Broad Top railroad is up and running again and hopes that the entire line and all the steam locomotives are restored.
My son really likes the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad especially since they acquired and restored 1309 but he wishes that the rest of the line from switch #9 to Connellsville PA would be rebuilt and used again for both passenger and freight trains since it had an easier gradient of just 1% and has scenic views of the Appalachian Mountains ⛰. And he does not want that to be wishful thinking he wants it to be a reality! He also thinks it was poor judgment for the Chessie System to abandon the Western Maryland line in favor of the parallel Baltimore and Ohio line over Sand Patch when the Western Maryland line had an easier climb.

There is something so satisfying about watching an old steam locomotive doing the job it was made for. I love excursion services and all but theres something great about this old loco still running revenue freight
Great shots! I also love the Federal Signal STL-10 siren. I mapped the Phoenix Fire Company #10. In the street view the siren can be seen on the roof. You were about 700 feet away.
That's pretty funny at the end when number 11 is pulling away that truck is pulling gears trying to sound bad ass..... nope not even close!!! and I'm a heavy haul truck driver out here in oregon LOL
