I did this fight recently on a tactician playthrough, decided I wanted to try the "Steal Kith'rak Voss' greatsword," exploit... just because I hadn't tried it yet. It... did not go well. I wiped and reloaded multiple times. Mind you, I had full party but it also relies on opening the fight in the least advantageous was possible. But, I did end up doing it... then while thinking about it later, I looked at the BG3 wiki, and realized my party was about 2 levels too low for this encounter, lol. I'm such a masochist [read: idiot.]
Sorry I don't have more time to play than I do. Got a demanding job with plenty of over time + family that takes priority. Wish I could play more though!
Oh boy that went smoothly. Next level will be a big boost - already looking forward to it seeing it in action. It's like having a party - just with summons 🧟♂
That was satisfying to watch. But I feel your frustration about aiming things in the game. And it's little things that trip you up. A terrain rock jutting out from a wall that looks like it shouldn't block your path but it does. Or how fireball needs a clear straight path between the spellcaster and the destination. If it doesn't have one, the spellcaster will move around to find one, even if that means moving into the path of the fireball. And when I kill the rats in the gauntlet of shar, and I like putting a wall of fire or hunger of hadar over the rat holes in the pit where they spawn. Moving the camera angle around to position the spell where I need is pure frustration, because if I nudge the camera angle a little too far, it moves up to a higher level and I can't see into the pit.
Agreed on the throwing, can be frustrating for sure. It is usually pretty forward to work around but I remember the necro on the beach, that was an awful throwing experience! Glad that you enjoyed it! :)
Nice! I haven't tested it on the newest patch but if your skeleton is out of turn based mode and you instruct them to attack, instead of just moving into combat, they do that action regardless of turn order. Good luck with the run!
Was awhile since I recorded this but the main reason is to use the action instead of bonus action to heal. Could either be that I messed up and had to heal in another way or wanted to use it for something else.
I took them all. But I’d go luck of the far realms first and then pick up cull the weak. After that move on to volatile shield and stage fright. Black Hole in the late game
Recently I fell in love with swords bard - incredibly strong class. I love my warlocks, but man, swords bard is cool. :) Give it a try - maybe in one of your streams or so :)
Good fight ! Funnily enough, I did this fight yesterday and the cub was still upset with me just like you, I theorized it could have been because I shoved it, considering you shoved it too that could be the reason, although I actually have no idea, I just don't see any other reason. Luckily enough fleeing the fight and long resting worked for me for having him show up at the goblin camp !
I forgot what I did different from the other times I've done this. Maybe it was the shove! Anyhow, as you mentioned, the cub showed up later on in the camp thankfully! :)
Its funny we were just talking about using luck of the far realms and here you used it as your opener. Except you forgot to check it's resistances so it barely did damage😜
Hey Lich, watched a few of your vids, just wondering, was the setup in nautiloid fight just to killd the mindlayer for the 50xp or did you try to kill the general cambion too ? (sry if mistakes, not english speaking) cheers from France ! edit : my bad, i skiped the first part where you dont use laezel or shart at all for the fight, i get it now
I think I must since I can't really damage him otherwise. He's immune to most elemental attacks and resistant once super charged :/. Would have to give it a go on a none wizard at some time. Never tried it so it would be an interesting challenge!
After this encounter is when I make Glut jump into the chasm so I can keep that sweet, sweet Bliss Spores buff from Sovereign Spawn. I hold off on taking the buff until right before taking on Ketheric/Myrkul.
Your videos have taught me the importance of positioning. I also started a honor mode run today because you inspired me; "if this guy can solo honor mode, I can make a team that can beat it surely"
Oh wow thank you so so much! 🖤 You most definitely can do that. Feel free to ask questions of your setup and good luck with the run! Edit: super inspirational to hear that I inspired you! Thanks again for the words and support 🖤
@@FriendlyLich yeah thanks a lot man. I'm doing a cheesefest team comp. Abjuration wizard, lil dip of cleric at some point for heavy armor. A gloomstalker rogue. Full war cleric Shadowheart. Sorlock Tav. Something else I've learned is to utilize scrolls. Anyways, cheers
@@TheRealCptObvious1 Sounds solid! Yeah consumables are no good unused ;>. Used to hoard consumables in crpgs and then end up finishing the game with enough potions and scrolls to open a store.
@@FriendlyLich hey 2 questions: when do you find the best time to use HoH? I see you use it sometimes on chokepoints but sometimes its hard to tell when theres a good use in any given combat scenario. Also: when do you find to be the best time to use Luck of the Far whatever?
@@TheRealCptObvious1 I think HoH is great when there’s a number of enemies, specifically ranged/casters and stuff like paladins that you don’t want in your face. Since it refresh on short rest I think it can be used quite often. Sometimes it’s worth just dropping on enemies as an opener just to not allow them to shoot/cast at you. When it comes to Luck of the Far Realms I honestly believe I use it too sparingly. I really want to use it on stuff that need to go fast. Hold Person enemies/bosses and such. Hope that helped!
