Best money I spent on my 12 yz250. Built mine for track porting wise Austinm716 I have a track video thing screams. Always grabbed attention when I started it.
Video on instagram. But best money if your looking for more bottom end while keeping that yami top end. Video shows the sound under load and it was ported for top end but low end was crazy. If trailing maybe a flywheel weight with low porting depends on what u want.
Loved that bike but I sold it last year and got a newer bike. Thing was a beast though, I put over 150hrs on it. Mine had a steahly flywheel can’t remember exactly what size but I wanna say 11 or 13oz
I bought the bike with the 300 kit already on it but when I bought a top end rebuild kit I got it from Eric Gorr Racing. I sent a few emails and didn’t get a response so I called him and he fixed me up. He’s a one man show, not sure if he’s still in business but the custom port work he does on the cylinders is unmatched imo
Specs on the Xtrainer say it has a 57.8" wheelbase, 216 lbs without fuel, and 10.6" wheel travel both ends, 35.8" seat height. So if it settles 2-3", that should put you around 32-33" seat height. My thinking is the shorter suspension is what's giving you that feel for sliding the rear end around. That would lower the center of mass which should improve handling. A lot of people comment about how they like the Xtrainer and handling is the key feature.
Right, but we were talking about all of the beta frames. Not just the Xtrainer. You need to get some seat time on one, you’ll see what I’m talking about
I watched both videos. Reminded me of some of the other guys videos, same trail. But you guys were smoking thru. No warmup, hit the trail and go. I didn't hear you say what bike you were on first, but decided it was a smaller bore by the way you rode it. Like you were in 2nd and letting it rev. I could see Tay's brake like coming on and was wondering when he would blow thru a turn.... he did. LOL Later on when you were on the 300 XTrainer, I could tell you were liking it. Run it up a gear high and lug it all the way, and it was taking it. It's supposed to have a nice suspension. I'm glad you guys liked that bike. It has a lot of positive comments on different forums by a lot of guys. On the videos, improvise, adapt, overcome! Really enjoyed the banter back and forth discussion, and especially comments AND your engine noises and bogs.... LOL I was actually looking for an XTrainer at one time, thinking I might get back into the 2T game with you guys. Things didn't work out that way for me, kind of glad I held back now that I found the YZ250FX. We need to do a comparison ride video now that you have something different.
I think the trails have changed drastically now after much of the property was logged. Not sure which trails are still rideable, haven’t ridden there since 2020
@@brapbuddy9660 I got a 22 250 xc about 3 months ago with 30 hours so bikes been a blast ! I still have my 2015 250xc with over 300 hours bikes still runs great ! Hope the tpi works out the same!
@@Briank-ef5iq nice!! Love a screaming 250 smoker. I’ve heard the new tbi’s are all the rage now, want to try out one of those here soon if I can get my hands on one
@@brapbuddy9660 yea I’m just a weekend warrior don’t race just trail ride , I’m happy with what I got ! That being said wouldn’t mind throwing a leg over 23 xc !
Got some shirts at the store. Never fails; when I wear one out and I'm standing in a line, people behind me ask about it, then give me their story of being on that road.
Why did you put the cover on with the chain removed? You had the new chain on then the next clip the chain was off and you were putting on the front sprocket cover? Made just video flaw but nice simple video to follow nonetheless.
The memory card filled up or the camera died. Can’t remember which one but I wanted to show me putting the cover back on even if the chain wasn’t installed. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching!
Well that’s unfortunate if that’s the case. I made this video about a year and a half ago and I couldn’t get him to respond to emails or voicemails but one day I called about 10am and he answered and I got my order placed. From what I could tell it seemed like he was running his entire business on his own so that would explain why he was so busy
@@brapbuddy9660 wow longer than I expected. Yeah I'm almost 40 years old and haven't ridden a mountain bike since I was in highschool. I bought a Cannondale trail 8a few weeks ago and I'm looking forward to getting back into it. Thanks for the response
Make a trip to the new Bogue Chitto state park MTB trails sometime . It will blow ya away . North shore mtb club and flow motion trails really made it tres bien !
