I love motorcycles and this is what i mainly will post on this channel. I'm living in Sweden so this is a Scandinavian view of the motorcycle lifestyle!

The relay is needed to be able to install accessories, such as a 12 volt socket, gear indicator, lamps, etc. For my own part, it was installed for the 12 volt socket that I installed after this. The relay makes some cables (under the seat and also at the speedometer) work when the ignition is on and not to work when the ignition is off.
This guy if full of crap. The video cuts out because when he loosens the triple tree side bolts the whole front falls down. So he doesn’t show you that does he?
Thanks for the great video, appreciate it, just curious you mentioned to someone in comments changing air filter at 18,000 kms, my owners manual for my 2023 says only change it at 24,000 kms? Have they changed the recommendation for changing it I wonder?
@@SamOnABikeSweden thanks buddy, that’s what I was wondering? I’ll wait till 24,000 kms and then see how dirty it is, that will let me know if I should change it earlier than recommended.
I have both a r1200rt and fjr1300. Had the bmw 3 years before the yami. The bmw has such a sweet and smooth suspension. It also has a lower center of gravity. This makes the ride very easy... Especially in tight, slow speed conditions. The bmw also has much more sturdy components - handlebar controls/switches are much better quality. HOWEVER, Yamis don't leave you stranded on highways. The bmw rear final drive blew after 35k miles. It took $7k to get her home and running again! Sooo, I don't trust her any more. I only take the bmw on short rides and I now take only the fjr across country!
Very nice video. On paper this bike apparently is the unicorn I am looking for. My only concerns are reliability/durability and comfort on highway, as I'd use it for double purpose (60% on/40% off road). Greetings from Spain. Sweden is beautiful!
Thanks for your kind words! Yes for me this bike feels like the unicorn! But im with you about the durability concerns! This is an unproven brand, i don't know about this engine but I know that the KTM790 and the CFMoto 800mt shares the same engine construction and lately it has been som real concerns about the camshafts of these engines, the same problem is conected to KTM790, CFMOTO 800 mt and Husqvarna Norden 901. Google it and you will find. I belive that the 450mt engine is a uniq CFMOTO design... But im not shure... so keep that in mind!!
Got 1400 on my. This is my dirt capable ADV purchase (modified Rally 300 is the more dirt machine). Short final gearing is a miss on CFMOTOs part. Yes, i have 15t up front, it's better, but it's a compromise. The gear box is ok. It's not great, however. Finding neutral takes little skill, muscel memory. Really snatchy off idle fueling, cfmoto released update, it makes the bike way nicer. At 75 kgs (street clothing), the front springs are on a stiff side. Ye, backed out preload all the way. Most fasceners are tightened to "max" torqu. This seems to be a Chinese thing (my CFMOTO Papio is the same way). When taking off the skid plate, the lower support bars spring out good 2 cm. A strap is required to bring them in before you can re install the paper thin, metal skid plate. Yes, the exhaust is on the loud side. It is a great bike, all the little features add up. Lets see how it will hold up to kms.
Hopefully CFMoto will get the fuel & spark mapping sorted to overcome the snatchyness. I'd also expect an aftermarket anti-glare film to become available to eliminate reflections on the screen. Overall, it looks to be nice bike. Now I'm waiting for Kove to offer their ADV model(s).
I will gladely keep on riding my "whale bike"! And since you clearly missed it, this is just a short, first test ride of the bike and not an in depth review. I wish you a great day!
I have heard that we have the grey color here in Sweden, because they think that color will sell better than the blue one on this market. I dont know if we get the blue one at all, i haven't seen one
Thanks mate, I am going to keep my 36 years old Yamaha XT600 Tenere...same power, same torque, same range, and the sound...ah, the sound :-) And all that with one piston less...one must ask where exactly is the progress here ;-)
@@SamOnABikeSwedendon't get me wrong, your video was an eye opener to me, I mean this bike is 6300 EUR new here in Croatia, nothing else comes close! Honda CRF300 Rally is 1000 EUR more, and not everyone is lucky to have 36 years old bike still running and usable, so your video is spot on!
I hate to be negative but you have a responsibility to get details right especially on a new to market bike that so many people are interested in. The standard seat height is 820mm,it can be lowered to 800mm. The traction control can be turned off with the same switch as the rear ABS. I test rode the bike and loved it.
You could easily lower it to 800 mm without changing to a different seat. I think it's more important to tell a potential custommer the lowest seat height possible than to tell how it's set up for most people. But you're right about the ABS/TCS, my bad for that!
@@SamOnABikeSweden I think all you had to say was that the standard seat height is 820mm and it can be lowered to 800mm via a built in lowering link at the bottom of the rear shock. I appreciate how much effort goes into making YT video, so it always amazes me when the basic bike details are wrong.
@@davidz8 You can write a book, have it read proofed by professionals, having the book editor, publishing house involved, books hit the shelves, you as an author pick one from the shelf and still afraid to find a typo...happy if it was not in the chapter title...my friend told me so after having 12 books published...so yeah, an error in YT video is to be expected 😉
I have one and have been riding about 2000km. I love it and it works fine so far. Suspension is very good, but factory setting is a bit hard for onroad use so i had to soften it up for it to be comfortable. Gearingbox and gearing is a bit short so it gets very revy on the highway. I fixed that with a 15 tooth front sprocket and now it's perfect. RPM are just below 5000rpm at 90km/h. Throttle is a bit sensitive from closed to open just like every other bike with euro emission exhaust regulations. A good map takes care of that issue. Other then that the bike is really solid and feels WAY more premium then the price suggests.
@@nobleabraham6498 On average with a heavy throttle i'm on 4.5l/100km but if i drive sensible it will be around 3.8-4.0/100km After i changed to a 15 tooth on the front sprocket i get even better milage. Haven´t driven very much since i changed but in 90km/h fuel consumption is around 3.5-3.8 on a straight road. So i will absolutely go well above 400km on a single tank if i drive sensible.
Mine has been uncrated at the dealership. They sent me photos. They received ten (all pre-sold) and mine is getting prepped in line. I'll be picking it up in the next few days. Brisbane Australia. Exciting.
Oh, I believe that the 'MT' stands for - Multifunction Tourer, or Multi-use Tourer. Just what I wanted. A bike that is not too heavy and does everything well, and some things very well if the reports are anything to go by.
Wow exciting! I'm tempted to buy one here in Sweden, great price for a great bike!! But i don't think my wife wants me to get rid of the FJR1300, but it's never wrong with 2 bikes!
@@hondaslex At about 40% of the price too. Some truth in what you say, It is hard not to think that CFMoto looked hard at the successful Tenere when they designed the MT. And there is nothing wrong with that. Not a cheap copy either. I have mine now and it is very well built from the frame welds right down to the switches.
Wrong about the traction control. Both ABS and TCS are disconnected with the button. To disconnect one or the other individually requires using the menu.
Yest it is nice bike i wanted one but it is not possible to get one yet in Norway so i got a Honda 500 NX instead and that is a good bike too so those two can compares i would say both are good in it's own way.👍
Why in the hell do you have to damn near dismantle the bike to change the filter?!?! Damn Kawasaki, make it where we can remove a side cover and slide it out!!
The relay is needed to be able to install accessories, such as a 12 volt socket, gear indicator, lamps, etc. For my own part, it was installed for the 12 volt socket that I installed after this. The relay makes some electrical cables (under the seat and also at the speedometer) work when the ignition is on and not to work when the ignition is off.
Hello, Nice ride, beautiful nature and fantastic bike! I’am also owner of FJR 1300 from 2008, it’s identical only thing that I don’t have the original central case. I agree with the things that you said at the beginning of the video, unfortunately today it seems that people don’t understand the bikes, they only purchase the most expensive bike to show it around. 🤷🏻♂️ I’am glad that there is still people like you that can appreciate the bikes like FJR, GTR, GSX… Greetings from Italy Darko 🏍️✌🏼
Thank you for your kind comment! The FJR, GTR, GSX and Pan European are all great machines!! The FJR was way ahead of its time with electric winshield, heated grips, gear indicator on the dash, ABS, dual link brake system and so on. Many new bikes today lack some of these things. Plus the FJR is a quality motorcycle! Ride safe!
I have a 2022 Vulcan S and just installed the 12V port port, it’s really really good. The Vulcan S is easily one of the nicest bikes on the market for what you get. LOVE MINE ❤
