You got the sound exactly right. Impressive. I’m still practicing this one. Remembering the repetitive numbering while adding emotion to the chromatic is still tricky for me, it’s either one or the other currently.
Sounds great Swan just got a Swan 1248 for Christmas from my wife. Looking for to learning. thank you for the inspiration .I am also coming from a diatonic Honer special 20
Ah, just had a thought based upon another viewers request for your backing track source, I’ve used karaoke tracks before when playing my guitar. On you tube search ‘the karaoke channel’ & there’s 1300+ tracks to work with & elsewhere there’s several other karaoke channels for more selection. Lots of playalong resource material here! Hope this helps.
Thanks for the lovely entertaining you've provided with your 4 harmonica recordings. I'm writing my Christmas wish list & researching Chromatic's, you've persuaded me to specify the Swan 1248. I just hope that with lot's of time & practice I can learn & play half as good as you. Thanks for helping me shop!
Hi so soothing and played effortlessly. Please let me know what is the difference between Swan DELUXE 1248 and the one you have played .The metal covers on the deluxe doesnt have 4 horizontal holes ..I have doubt as to which one is better before buying ,please guide
Did you do anything to tighten up the leakiness of this harp?? I have one too and like the feel of it and even the sound but it takes great effort to play. Example: I can play my Swan for about 30 mins, Honer 260 about 2 hours, Susuki SCX 64 ALL Night Long!
BRADDANGOLF searching for good chromatic harmonica players I'm happy to listen to you playing so well. I have a long experience on chromatic harmonica topics , collect chromatic harmonica recordings and play chord and bass. I would like to be in touch with you. superink33@gmail.com
I can barely spell "harmonica" and don't know the difference between any of them, but when you can make me wax nostalgia, I have to say you've performed nicely.
First of all, thank you for sharing your lovely videos of song played with a Swan 1248 Chrom Harp C, like you said to some in comments about "sharing a good one which other people doesn't" really helps me alot on over-thinking of what chrom harp to start on as I have been playing with diatonic. Since I am just 18 and budget tightened(don't get much support from parents) , I have to buy a economic one to start off. And thanks again for your PRACTICAL suggestion of this great harp. Have a blessed day. ;)
Sorry, I can't. This backing track is a one off, and was written and performed for me by a friend on his Yamaha organ. A professional organist may be able to do the same for you though. Regards S
Hi John, The swan 12 hole is a very underated chrom. It may not have the quality of a hohner or suzuki, but its ideal for practice, as it gives out a reasonable tone considering its price. If you should happen to blow a reed, them"hey" why not just buy another swan chromatic.. In saying that, i've only had to do that twice in four years. Good luck with your playing, and if you decide to keep it up long term, a Suzuki SCX 48 is sure worth a look. Thanks 4 the kind words. Swan
You should continue to produce these wonderful harmonica videos. This and Hushabye Mountain came out beautifully with the high fidelity sound and reverb. I just found one of these very same models on amazon and then heard these recordings. I bought it after listening to all 4 of your songs. Your sound and thoughts about this model gave me the confidence to commit to it. It is my first chromatic and I am very excited about playing and sounding magical like this. I listen to these constantly now.
