You need vitality resistance, poison and fire. All will help. You can also use items like a Ritual amulet (can buy from shops) that reduce damage from "magical". Very strong for this fight.
I'm a new player, and I learned a lot from this video. I found your placement of the glass cannon masteries low for survivability reasons interesting. Can't you just pair them with a tanky mastery to compensate for that? I have 3 characters, first was a conqueror, second was a druid, and third I'm on right now is a Brigand. And the Brigand is by far the most survivable for me. Although you did say hunter is the best mastery for normal.
Pairing a tanky mastery with a glass canon works really well for regular gameplay, yeah. But it'll never reach the same heights of sheer survivability that two really tanky masteries hit...and the video was very focused on pure hardcore and even the curses too. It'd be quite a different ranking if it was about damage or speed. I'd recommend giving rune and or neidan a try, they're strong both on survival and damage. I have a properly voiced Cursed Hardcore series on my channel that shows off how good rune is.
@@LughSamildanach Yeah you aren't wrong, you can always be tankier. I thought I was doing well enough to do deathless with the brigand character. I was in act 3 with no deaths, and both my previous characters had died as early as greece, so i had high hopes that Tony the Tiger wouldn't be an asshole but he was. Might have lived if I was a warden like I originally thought to make. But I saw rogue and thought heheh goofy pierce build.
I have been watching this series before bed. I love it but I keep falling asleep. Its been 2 weeks. Got to the video 3! Why is it always such a long way to legendary in TQ. 😞
Hi Lugh, What do you think of the hermit, have you tried it yet? Heart of Oak is interesting for having high health in hardcore coupled with summons it seems very powerful.
Want a good bowman, thor bow, or truck wizard. I just started getting lost in Torchlight III, "come on surfer 🏄♂️ 🌊 champion, of course thats battlefront muck.
@@LughSamildanach No, offense mate, but you even play it ? Playing build with defense or neidan and reflecting builds in tq for me is simply braindead, small interaction in fights, abusing broken mechanics in old game that rly uninteresting.
@@przemek193 I gave the first guy a reply worth the comment he made. Don't read into it that much. But to answer, I dislike Grim Dawn because the world is uninteresting...and the characters too. I care for none of it. None of it grabbed me the same way the TQ world and characters do. Why would I play a game if I don't enjoy the setting or like the characters or story? And if I want a grim, dark, brooding, muddy, filthy post apocalypse shithole world, I'll play a Diablo 1 or 2...and they have better characters too. Hell, PoE as well.
I thhink adrenalime would be great in this build, along with only 1 point in the AOE heal (which buffs health regen). The health regen would be massive also counting the Ank of Isis health regen amplification
I just loved running around shooting with a bow as a Hunter/Rogue build... That confusion from the rogue often meant, that I could shoot them down before they reached me. Actually beat hardcore with that, but with several deaths though.
Neidan and Nature was the most flawless for me, hard to kill and makes enemies weak, and the damage is decent too. My next would be Rune and Rogue, one of the best damage build. A little squishy but deals a lot of damage. I'm trying out Warfare and Neidan next, wish me luck.
Wth am I supposed to farm as a Neidan+Storm caster?(casting those frost spike things) Like TQ is so poor regarding this, not like WoW where you click on a boss on wikipedia and it says all items it drops, or click on an item and it says where it drops and what it does. It's so underdeveloped
Im confused on how lightning dash works. I have it on my caster, it literally just fires from my staff and does nothing.. what. Do I need a melee weapon or what
The last section can't be repeated enough. Play what you find fun. TQ(and its successor, GD) are so wonderfully open that you can make everything work. Except Single Mastery builds, but that's a ... uh ... unfortunate.
It's too bad the secondary resistances were nerfed to the new cap of 80%. You could go over 100% in the original version, which meant total immunity. I have a clip of how I take down Typhon without hitting him in the CD-ROM version. Tell me what you think of it. 😃
I'm only on my first playthrough bug storm nimbus + a very fast throwing dagger feels OP to me. Most normal enemies are dying in 1-2 hits. And the slow and stuns with some speed on my boots make kiting mobs a breeze.
@@LughSamildanach Thanks for your response. I might try it. Im definitely focusing more on health and dexerity for my builds in future. Whats your opinion on a warden build for this run, with a throwing weapon and shield? The fact you can get positive poison resistance easily and chance to dodge projectiles and amazing DA, could work maybe?
@@moleyboy9650 Great for shields, DA, OA, armor etc. Just lacks a little in resistances overall because no vitality, elemental etc. Still, a very good combo for staying alive. Max Wood Lore early on and you'll have an easy time in normal. Pump health and dex, very strong. Only other issue is that, because you want to use throwing, it doesn't benefit from the shield passive attacks, which are very strong skills. Maybe you could try two weapon set-ups, with your weapon swap. Use shield+throwing when at a distance and shield+spear at close.
@@LughSamildanach yeh, thats a good idea possibly. I also learnt today how amazing the skeletal darts are early game!! If you can't find the blue weapon you had before. It also showed me how important the vitality resistance is as it took out 60% of my health, as Im on minus numbers currently lol
@@moleyboy9650 Yeah skele darts are amazing! Really strong when enchanted with a relic. Speaking of the 60% of your health, by the time you're in act 3, there is a very small chance that regular enemies will roll with items that can do 100% of your health! That's why vitality is so important.
Would you rate lots of health as the most important attribute in this game? Like is there a minimum amount of health you would recommend for a character doing a hardcore run?
Most important in cursed harcore, maybe, but even then vitality resistance is more important. As for regular hardcore, no. Regular resistances are more important, such as pierce, vitality, physical....and no there is not a recommended amount because each character has different items and masteries. Anywhere from 5000 to 10,000 is a good idea.
In hardcore, right, like as if that's really a thing in the game. Er.. there is no such thing in this game. All this is made up bs and a complete waste of everyone's time.
Great video again. Does the reduction to undead damage set not help here versus hades at all, even in his final form? I am amazed you havent died, I have played though on hardcore with 4 of the curses, and that is dangerous enough lol, i shall have to try all 8 and see how long I last with no chance of getting decent resistances lol
Sure you could definitely use the undead reduction vs Hades second form, but I don't think it's necessary. His first form is far more dangerous, but it only really does vitality damage and we have enough resistance to that already.
Great series, I have learn't so much, and it helped me stop dying when playing hardcore attempts lol With your melee attack, you never seemed to apply the rune weapon to it, is there a reason for that?
I think for this recording, I had accidentally unselected it! I fixed that in the rest of the episodes. Thanks for watching, by the way. I'm glad you enjoyed.
@@LughSamildanach The opening farming of that very first area, really boosts your characters up and getting all the health increaes, as given me like 3-4 times the amount of health that i normally have, plus focusing a lot more on vitality and dexerity helps a lot. A lot of my builds have too low health an DA it seems. Are there any other resistances that are really important beside vitality?
@moleyboy9650 Pierce and physical are the most important after vitality. Physical is difficult to get, though. They make a big difference, especially if you have low armour or DA.
hey sir can you please share your save file on this build please 🙏🏻 i wanna try it myself but sadly i don't have any time to grind this game anymore because of my work haha really appreciated if u do ❤
