Anmerkung zu Minute 15:45: Karl May war eben KEIN stolzer Preuße, sondern, soweit man es seinen Büchern entnehmen kann, ein sehr "stolzer Sachse". Ich könnte mir vorstellen, ein schon für seine Zeit übertrieben "stolzer Sachse", aber ich habe damals nicht gelebt. Preußen wollte Sachsen 1815 und 1866 komplett "auffressen" und somit "von der Landkarte verschwinden" lassen. Das könnte ein Auslöser für Mays extremen Sachsen-Patriotismus gewesen sein (der ein Grund dafür war, dass ich Karl May Bücher als Kind schon sterbenslangweilig fand. Eines habe ich geschafft (aber die darin geradezu rassistische Franzosenfeindlichkeit fand ich da schon albern), alle weiteren habe ich angeödet schnell aus der Hand gelegt). In Mays Phantasie-"Wildem-Westen" ist es immer ein Sachse, der die Zivilisation bringt, und allen, den "guten" unter den Europäern wie auch den edlen Wilden, den Arsch rettet. Dämlich, ermüdend, armselig für mein persönliches Empfinden -aber WARUM, um alles in der Welt, erwarten Leute in einer Serie insgesamt einfach schlechter Groschenliteratur plötzlich ein reflektiertes, zuendegedachtes ethisches Empfinden, das wir z. B. bei Lessing abfeiern? Wer das von einem Karl-May Groschenheft (und den entsprechenden Filmchen für große und kleine Kindische) erwartet, ist nicht ganz bei Trost. Da fallen mir reichlich lohnendere Anlässe ein, die tatsächlich wichtige Diskussion um materielle und - oft damit einhergehende - nicht-materiell-kulturelle Ausbeutung zu führen. Ich stehe gerne für weiter Diskussion zur Verfügung, ich habe da evtl. Erfahrungen aus einer unerwarteten Ecke anzubieten, Stichwort "Tradition bearer". Ich muss aber erst Jens Balzers Büchlein lesen. Vielen Dank für Euren Kultur-Talk, ist wichtig! this must be without a doubt one of the best performances ever. you can really tell how much they love doing this and the creativity is over the top. the sound quality is superb. i listened to their stuff heavily during artschool and have recently discovered my old ipod and thus heard them again when going though it. they are simply fantastic
