Unfortunately, the previous owner of this car installed catless headers causing the Tomei to have more drone at cruising speeds. If you have catted or stock headers your car would have quite a bit less drone. Hope that helps!
I had this exhaust with the titanium front pipe. Such a great sound. I just wish it was a bit quieter. The drone would give me a headache after 20 minutes of driving. I'm definitely getting old😢
This exhausts are great for show cars or driving with a helmet on, otherwise they can get very obnoxious. I couldn’t stand my BRZ with catless headers + muffler delete, put a HKS spec L and now I love it, sometimes wish a bit more volume but most of the times I’m glad I didn’t get anything louder or dronier! It’s my dd tho.
I’m going to be doing a complete Tomei manifolds to tip exhaust on a VCam 2.8L HKS motor. I can only imagine how that’s gonna sound! 😅 What is the setup on this car?
One tip for anyone watching. If you remove the driver side A pillar trim, there's a connector for the headliner so you don't have to remove all that wiring.
The Tomei on Brians R33 definitely makes it loud. We filmed this video with mics in the engine bay and exhaust so that the exhaust sounded good. However, in video it's always hard to show how loud an exhaust actually is.
Arent the allen heads "cap screws" and not bolts? We argue this all the time at work. I love the tapers on the allen heads. Nice and clean. What grade titanium do you guys use, and does it matter? Do you have to repalace the wellnuts after each use, or are they reusable?
Cap screws, or Allen head bolts- either way we know what you mean. lol. All of our titanium hardware is made from Ti6Al-4V (Grade 5), which is the strongest grade of titanium for hardware. Rubber wellnuts can be reused over and over as long as the threads and body are in good condition.
I have it on my fk8 since 2021. Cool bass deep sound. But alot of drone in 5 and 6 gear on the highways. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XC_lLpWzkNc.html Never the less and regardless I love it :D
For sure Te37SL 18x9.5 +38 with 265/35/18 tires, 95% of fk8 owners run that spec cause of the perfect fitment, you can run that spec with no issues wether you’re lowered or stock height
@@davidrivera7068 The cold start can be found at the 2:40 mark. It's not nearly as loud as some other Tomei exhausts we've installed, but it is a lot louder than stock. Once the car warms up it quiets down a lot.
