There are many stories people have shared here that really capture their sentimental connection to this song. Musicians may hear a west coast vibe, but I feel this is very English 'town' in its essence. It does capture a zeitgeist of the late '80s where jazz was instrumental in so much music. I'm afraid the days of poetic music are far behind us now. ❤
The way these guys jumped into electronic music was soooo smooth. I mean, listen to Amplified Heart and the albums before that one. They sounded totally different.
I still remember jamming out to this as a kid, I'm so fucking glad I grew up with the sounds my mum was listening to. I easily could have missed great classic tracks and artists like EBTG, Portishead, Aphrodite and all those classic 90s/early 2000s artists
