I feel in love with Whitstable on July 1st 1984 and again in early July 1985. The school I went to, organised a few day break going from London Hampstead, to Whitstable Bay by mini bus. We would go via the A2 from Eltham, foots cray Road, to Faversham. And then the A299, from Faversham to Whitstable. We stayed in a hostel along Whitstable bay. I always remembered walking out on the beach in the morning in Whitstable with a couple of school buddies, when the tide was well out. We walked roughly a quarter of a mile out. The next thing I remember stepping into quick sand. Lucky I get help from school friends. But it was an experience. And never walk out by yourself on a beach by yourself when the tide is well out. You just never know where quick sand is. Be with others if you are going to do this.
I was there 9 years ago. Lovely. As a Biologist it is truly magnificent. The waters were actually rather cold ( I was there in June) so a wet suit would have helped
For the Europeans in the comments: Croatia islands are pretty sililar. Clear water, mountains in the background. You saved yourself 2000 euro. Thank me later.
The South of Scotland is often overlooked as all the tourists head for the highlands. If you want to avoid the crowds, it's definitely the destination to head for.

Justement, Igaliku, l'autre village ´vivable ´ dans ce continent extrêmement inhospitalier du Groënland où les températures dépassent souvent les 20 degrés en été et ne descendent pas trop en hiver, mais un peu plus froid quand même que aappilattoq ... A noter que l'eau ne dépasse jamais les 4 degrés... même en pleine canicule polaire ( vous avez vu ? Il a faillit perdre une jambe 🤣 ) !!
