We are the owners of this car in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We make an iron box that can be opened and closed for maintenance. The reason for having this box is because the diesel filter level is low and is susceptible to breakage and damage on rough roads like what happened to you.
Hey guys love your videos keep having fun I have a question for Jordan mate do you know anyone that has a cannon ute and has had trouble with fuel pumps mine did one at 10000 klms
Hey mate! Yeah my one crapped a fuel pump haha. It had an open circuit somewhere so when ever fuel was a bit low the car wouldn't start. Fuel pump in tank replaced and all sorted now. What issues did you have?
I'm at 6m18 and you're killing me. No issues, 50k km, etc...but ignore all the warning lights. I'm not having a dig, just funny and I'm still watching to find out more. Cheers
Hey mate, love the honesty in your reviews! I'm 5000kms deep into my 2023 X and just love driving it. Bought it because I was on a budget but found it the best bang for buck at the time. I'm thinking of getting a camper trailer to supplement the lifestyle options I made when deciding to buy the Cannon. I want to do more beach fishing and want that camping option that comes with a camper trailer. Light weight compared to a caravan and also more in line with my budget constraints. Do you have any thoughts on what I should be looking at, especially when it comes to tow weight given I really would like to pull any camper trailer on the beach with me. Love your work bro, keep it up with the content ❤
Hi mate, I really love your video and watched it a second time. You have a very beautiful family, and I really enjoy seeing you being so authentic. I'm setting up my canopy for my new Cannon L and know I have a loading capacity of over 1000 kg. If I'm not towing anything, do you think the chassis will bend if I put 700 kg in the back and 300 kg in the front, still staying within the loading limit with the stock suspension? I'm running out of money and can't afford to upgrade my suspension at the moment.
@calvinshum8019 that's awesome! Thanks for watching! The ute has a 1Tonne payload but I've seen a few around that are fully loaded and the rear springs are almost backwards haha stock suspension is comfortable but it's not super strong. But saying that.... it will probably be fine. I'd just do it and see how you go Cheers
@@wheelsbytheocean Thanks for your reply. It's really funny that when I first got my Cannon, I always thought I had plenty of load capacity and never needed to worry about being overweight. I never realized that the truck comes with such a high load capacity but insufficient suspension. It's really easy to keep spending money on my car, but I really love my Cannon. Cannon should give you a free Cannon Alpha and Tank 500, or just make me the national manager, as you've probably helped Cannon sell their utes more than any of their salespeople.
Towing a 3000kg empty caravan with a maximum rated 3500 kg vehicle not much of a safety margin once you load it with your gear and passenger etc ?! Thanks
What bed rack are you using? as well as roof rack? Does the origial roof rail enough or better replace with after market? If you can do a short video about what have you done with your ute with details and link to purchased would be amazing. Im perth based and also interesting to get the Cannon X instead of the LDV T60
@@DangLeProject92 Check out these two vids 😀 I took these items off my car recently as I needed to reduce weight for towing ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aea0DH0t3NE.htmlsi=OmMMjM09LwEEq6cP ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE---mYUNiRiQc.htmlsi=0gO_8WNqtRChNNiX
My son just bought the xrs and the turbo lag was so bad it almost caused us to crash or near misses, so we put in a Hike It throttle controller on it and I went through all the settings and ended up with the AUTO mode and gees it woke the thing up like it supposed to be, instant throttle . Well recommended till they fix it with a software update.
I have travelled over 61000 Kms - Not a single issue. I bought brand new GWM Cannon 4x2 in early 2022 and still going strong. Best investment for a ute.
I’m not sure you can call it an unbiased opinion when you’ve purchased it with your own money. I appreciate your love for the vehicle. I just don’t understand the positivity around it when mentioning issue after issue. I struggle to see how anyone could want to go out and purchase this after watching you point out at only 50k kilometres how it required a new alternator, new drivers seat base, starting issues, noisy fuel pump/issues, seat belt replacement, glitchy software with cruise control not kicking down automatically… yes it is under warranty, but my god, can’t use your vehicle when it is in for warranty jobs constantly. I don’t understand where people’s confidence comes from when this seems to be the norm with this brand? I understand you pay less for it, but doesn’t matter if you get something for free, if it doesn’t work when you need it to.
I'd like to just point out, the alternator hadn't failed, had it. It was doing the job it's designed to do, it had a dry bearing, nothing more. That would possibly be from the beach work the vehicle has done, salt water does terrible things to alternators, but as I said, it hadn't failed. If it'd been a ford, warranty voided by salt water probably. The seat belt, name a vehicle manufacturer that hasn't had that issue. It was an annoyance only. The fuel issue, again hadn't failed him, just an annoyance. Having said all that, I think he did very well getting the seat squab replaced under warranty, all other manufacturers would claim it to be acceptable wear & tear. I do think GWM possibly did all this work under warranty for him without augment knowing he has influence on his RU-vid channel. They're obviously very aware of his influence, hence his invite to Tank 500 launch, Alpha preview to market launch. Aside from that, this ute us fairing really well for the treatment it received, not neglected but certainly not treated with grace, bugger all TLC. I'm amazed by the rust & longjeopardy claims surrounding GWM. I'm currently in Darwin, I've never seen so many GWM V240's and V200's in one place, they obviously sold really well up here, performing in a continuously harsh environment, as once you turn off a main road up here everything is unsealed and corrugated to shithouse but these little supposedly pieces of crap have servived the terrain, still going, none blowing oil fumes, diesels have soit coating in rear but that's purely due to neglect, again TLC not thrown at them. Those little utes could be 15 years plus old, subjected to long distances to remote locations, hence the odometer readings would be very high, but they're still going, not rusted away, hence the idiotic claims they won't last, they'll rust away are unfounded up here. Even Steeds galore up here, some of them demonstrate TLC though, shiny & clean chrome work, haha. It's fairly evident GWM has demonstrated good will here in my opinion for a good guy.
I have a October 2020 built Cannon base model with 125,000+ kms on the clock... First registered Feb 2021 so ive driven it over 3 years now. It has been flogged etc ive not had major mechanical or minor issues. Ive used this car every single day since owning it. Been on and off-road many times. It spends nearly every second weekend on the beach and i still havent washed it and its not rusting away. However i did notice you mentioning what you do when your driving on the beach and you mentioned you only turn traction control off and sometimes run the difflock. I did see on your clips when your getting stuck your loosing drive because your centre diff isnt locked.... You should hold that traction controll buttong for 5 seconds. This will help you massivly on the beach as itll lock the centre diff ybat way if one of your wheels spin in the rear you will still have drive going through your front drive shaft. If you run the transfer unlocked you will only get drive shaft driven power to the diff if you have lost traction. The difflock on all the time can cometimes work against you if you have to turn as it can dig you in etc... but yea just a good tip
@matthewwaller3188 thanks mate! Really well explained. I had Byron from Savage Tech just in my ear about this the other day too haha. Really appreciate you pointing that out and I'm looking forward to giving that a try for sure. Hopefully get back out on the beach real soon. Mate that's awesome! Love hearing about peoples good experiences with the GWM and good on you for giving them a crack early on. I love my Cannon and would definitely buy another when the time comes. Cheers mate 🍻
Great summary mate. Love my Cannon too but I'm finding night driving fatiguing because I can't dim the instrument/ info screen enough. The minimum setting is still too bright. Any ideas on a work around other than covering with a cloth?
@calvinshum8019 I absolutely loved the roof rail and rear rack. And the roof top tent was so good! We were really over weight and had to remove some accessories to get legal again. I had no issue with rack. Except when the rails got a bit of rust but savage tech supplied new redesigned rails under warranty as the old ones weren't coated properly or something. I miss the rack so much, was gangsta haha
@@wheelsbytheocean thank you very much for your information. Really appreciate it as I am about to purchase the roof rack. Love your channel. Also are you not travelling around in the caravan anymore?
@@wheelsbytheocean absolutely! you've done great! I love watching all your episodes and you've got really positive characters. I look forward to your new trip!
A tip that works much better. Than ecu or filter. Boost pipes make stainless pipes, then upgrade turbo cause the airflow is to weak. That by it self will make a huge difference. Then do ecu tune. Trust me it will be crazy more power
@hallbags7444 yes keen as on the dpf upgrade. Really would love that But I think I'd miss the Manual burns! They really are part of my life now hahahaha
@@user-ug2ub9wf4q can you show me where you found that information? I can't find anywhere on google or Qld Department of Transport and Main Roads.... I only found information stating that you can travel in QLD at the posted speed limit with a caravan. I would love to see info on it as I thought I was allowed to do 110kmh as it was the posted speed limit. Cheers mate
@davidmackenzie5971 hahaha I took my cheap Chinese stuff their to get tuned haha. That's Savage Techs new shop. They are just in process of moving there. It's going to be awesome!
