You know, the cheapest way to get a car weighted is to head to a local council recycling center. Just drive in and out it will shows your combine weight and it is free if you did not dump anything LOL
Hey guys, just stumbled on your video. I live in the suburb of Wulguru, Townsville and basically the back of the caravan park would only be a 100m away from home. lol I have often wondered about that way bridge over at BP...never knew it was a paid thing and $40 holly molley. At the end of your video where you are talking, only a couple klms from where you stayed, you would have past the TSV Port Access RD on the left. About 200m along and there is a public weighbridge that Main Roads use for the checks. Just drive on, get weight, drive away, all for free !!! I hope your trip south was all good and no dramas and all things repaired. Good Luck.

As no kits available, would speak to a independent suspension mob, they generally use a few engineer’s to sign off mod plates, maybe they willing to give yours a higher gvm . But gcm is doubtful. Then insurance can be tricky with modifications. Most likely best to upgrade tug to more capable vehicle , safer towing

Awesome vid mate, the weight definitely creeps up, at least your honest and are gonna fix it, theres plenty of people out there guessing. If you havent been to agnes waters/1770 and Bargara on your way down to Brissy, its definitely worth it.

I knew all along that you would have had an issue with weight. After all the cannon only has a 3000kg capacity and guaranteed that by the time you add all the accessories in your van and fill water tanks up you 100% would be well overweight. Jordan you really need to consider a GVM upgrade on the ute. The 3000kg towing capacity is a big reason I have purchased a Cannon. Also your van is built for bitumen not a full off road van. It's not built for purpose for the tracks you have done. Surprised that your suspension actually lasted this long. I find that Caravan World is a lot at fault, as they should never have sold you that van for the tracks you were planning to do with it. To me it says a lot about that business's integrity. That is I'm assuming that you did mention to them where you were planning to take it. If you didn't, they should have made it their business to ask and find out so they could sell you a van that IS fit for purpose. Good luck Jordan and Dee and really think about a GVM upgrade, and also a van upgrade😊.
I wish a GVM upgrade existed for the GWM. I would definitely be doing that but no one has engineered one yet. It'll come soon enough. Yeah I'm going to remove some accessories. We were only a little over on the GVM the caravan weights were all good and under 3T. I just need to get some accessories gone. But we are also considering different vans so will keep y'all informed. Nah we bought this van because it's a 'semi-offroad' caravan. I only did semi offroad stuff in my opinion hahaha. I never took the van 'offroading' I don't think hahaha Cheers mate! 😀
I also knew it would be over weight. They have a responsibility to ask you what you are towing with, yes.... So you can tow it off the lot. Which when Jordan purchased this van, he had no accessories and would have been fine. However over the past few months, obviously he has added things to the car and with the towball weight, yes he would be now exceeding his GVM..... Maybe even the GCM..... I have been the the Brissy show and have seen the Caravan World Vans (GoodLife / Trackvans) and have spoken to Luke... He is very knowledgeable and was helpful. I think considering where you have been and how rough you are haha, Im surprised it's lasted that long to be honest, I think it's held up quiet well for a Semi Off Road van. Keep it up mate 🤙🏼

The Goodlife caravan has been absolutely amazing and I've seen so many other people's vans have issues that even had all the crazy airbag suspension etc etc. I've been very lucky. Sorry but you guys are reckless! Your obviously to heavy (possibly dangerously over) and dont give a toss! "She'll be right" wont help when you've come unstuck and hurt your family or others on the road!
Yeah I hear ya mate. As I said I'm going to sort it out. I did say that in the video. I will get it back to legal weights. The caravan weights were all good. But we are a little over on gvm so I need to take some stuff off the ute and out of the tray. It happens mate. So many overloaded Ute's out there. Mine is minuscule compared to others I've seen getting around. But it wasn't that bad to be honest. Just thought I'd share it with the good folk of RU-vid. But I knew I would face comments like yours but I guess it is what it is.
@wheelsbytheocean good to se your sorting it mate, sorry didnt mean to rup on you. I owm a gwm aswell (has a canopy drawers 45ltr fridge battery etc) andd tow my 2.6t hybrid. Had it professionally weighed and come in 140kg under gcm and thats with only a full front tank of water and half in the rear. There's no doubt they can handle the weights!
@182bsteven haha that's all good mate, the van is actually in getting repairs done and we are changing the ute a little bit so we can get under weight. We have also considered changing caravans so we'll see what happens. Definitely not changing cars. We love the GWM. Yeah I remember from your previous comments that you love your Cannon too. Thats so awesome that you could afford a Patrol. Absolutely beautiful vehicle! I just gotta make do with the Cannon for now. Might be looking into a caravan change in near future instead. 🤔

Hahaha it's all been approved by insurance company so they are fixing 😀 Not too fussed about who fixes it but happy days it'll be like brand new again! Yeeehaaa 🍻
You'll find it would not be covered by warranty. Van is not built for off- road. Have a look at real off road van suspensions. Massive difference. Great that at least insurance will cover it (If you are under legal weights) 😮
Good thing you looked under the van when you did. Don't publicise the weight of the ute and van until you get the van's suspension repaired; although unrelated it could be used against a possible warranty claim.

Hahaha noooooo!!! I paid heaps for the Cannon! Might not be to others but $42,000 is a huge amount of money to pay for a vehicle in my opinion! This is the most expensive vehicle I've ever owned! Haha The Cannon and the Caravan are the exception thats for sure! They are beautiful

Overweight rig and surprised at broken suspension. Sticks his hand into the wiring of a running appliance. I don't think this guy's gonna survive life much longer.
