Hello i understand this area is 4 years old, but hopefully someone can help me. What is that pulley attached to the BOA? I looked inside my hull on my 2015 PA14, and its just hanging there and when i turn my rudder handle, i hear it flopping around.Should it be attached to something? Please help its driving my crazy Thx Cliff
I have VHF radio and my father too, and we have a boat in the nearby harbor. Don't worry, you are in a safe and dry place behind the keyboard, there are no dangers there.
The drone from the clip is already four years old and has not been serviced. It looks like new because it is mainly used outdoors in the sea and there is no scratch on it and the motors are in perfect condition. Usually comments like this come from people who are just theorists, am I right?
Where did you get or how did you make that ingenious handle to catch the drone? I'm going to be on a sailing boat in Greenland in July. That would be very helpful.
@@velin.kerimov looking forward too it. This gives me a lot if inspiration. I can't believe Hobie don't sell these typed of attachments. The mechanism is so convenient and easy to add and remove. I would certainly by them if they were available. Did you 3D print them?
Yes I use 9' but they need shortening. I made mine 19cm (~7.5'). You can move the front bolt to the back, and in its place I put an 80mm long bolt. (3.15'). If you decide to put the H-Rail on the left side as well, there is a small conflict with the rudder control. I trim it a bit using a dremel tool.
The rails in this clip are the Thule Aero Bar. At the moment I already have another vehicle and my rails are Thule Wing Bar, but in both cases I use Thule DockGrip 895, which take the shape of the kayak. It's easiest if you use the Rhino-Rack Universal Side Loader.
Why are you using 2 different pulleys the one in the earlier pictures are different pulley, And you don't explain why you cut off the end of one police And you don't explain why you cut off the end of one Pulley?
They are exactly the same - 81450001 CHEEK BLOCK from the Hobie catalog. I cut it because there is no way to insert the control line tube. I also remove the metal cylinder on the roller so I can take it off and put it back in place after running the tube. 1:43
Per the manufacturer's advice, I use Marine Goop. For additional protection of the hull I use KeelEazy which is very strong and easy to work with. In order for all these improvements to hold strong to the hull, the surface of the kayak should be thoroughly cleaned with isopropyl alcohol. This also applies to the anchor system I made.
Nice setup! I am in the process of doing mine similar to your setup. Where did you find the long power cable that T’s off from monitor to the black black box
The Hobbie Tandem Island is a fun and entertaining water craft, BUT NOT a sailing boat by any means. Finally, after months of frustration, I refuse to deal with hobie anymore. To many "shady" and obviously not truthful business behaviour, I am done. A smackdown on the serious misleading things on HOBBIE TANDEM ISLAND will be online very soon. All I can say... Potential buyers BEWARE. A Tandem Island is NOT as good as they claim it is.
Everyone has an opinion, mine is that this is one amazing boat. I already have another sailing boat - Catamaran Lagoon 42, but Tandem Island remains my first and great love.
@Velin Kerimov True. Everyone has a opinion BUT a opinion is relative to each person. First: A Hobbie Tandem Island is NOT a boat. It is NOT listed as Kayak. Is NOT listed as trimaran. In FACT. they are listed as "FLOATING DEVICE " with a CR rating of D. Facts (as specialy hidden by the manufacturer) have nothing to do with any opinion. You will see and may wonder how they disguise FACTS. Try to get a Hobbie Tandem Island REGISTERED for example. The list is long..... Very looong....
Where are you located? How does it hold up? I tried making the same, but Florida sun is brutal ... the adhesive gets soft in the sun and eventually will fail. I use 3M adhesive tape
Hi, I'm in Bulgaria and here the temperatures are definitely not like in Florida. This tape I use has an operating range of -35 to +93 degrees Celsius, which is -31f to +199.4f. www.lindinger.at/thumbnail/31/3d/6e/1608639570/9721390_1920x1920.jpg
