I was deeply involved in the creation of this track and the story behind its coming together - and how a certain newspaper ensured the record received no airplay - was fascinating to be a part of. Sadly, like the song, it will evaporate into history without being told, but thanks for posting this. Not heard the track for so many years.
I was there for that day. Sat at the back in the choir stalls - fab location in the Free Trade Hall. Just a steady procession of excellent bands rolling out before me. [Or was it me rolling back and forth to the Abercromby?] Seem to recall seeing Harry sitting off to the side of the stage. Wasn't this Harry's last Open? RIP.
This was my first British Open (as a spectator of course!)....what a day!......I live in Canada now but Ive seen many regional and National contests since and this for me is still in the top 3 performances i've seen on a contest stage......Just a wonderful performance!
