A retired Oklahoma Native "Choctaw Storyteller" grandma shares the up and downs of being a self sustaining small back yard farm, focusing on raising small animals, gardening, canning, composting, and building your own back yard utopia!
This realtime day-to-day continuing story of animals, our challenges, shows how I handle them with 69 years of experience. The goal of this channel is to show you something you might have happen to you in the future, should you decide to try doing this yourself, remember hearing it, and apply it to your own farm-building experience.
My hope is that I can connect with you, and create not only great videos, but it will be here long after I'm gone and continue to teach you in my absence.
If you can, my channel would be so much better with new electronics for picture and sound and more memory.
I'm getting to the point I have to start downsizing. As bad as they want babies, I'm on another page. I'm thinking being so busy isn't really how I should be treating my old bag of bones! Caring for that many animals really is physically taxing. 😪
another beautiful walk around with you...loved the turkey segment especially the one bully...lol.....then with you in the kitchen getting breakfast looks so inviting.
My customers do! I charge for great eggs. Extra jumbo, jumbo, Xtra Large or large eggs. I have hens in all stages of laying at all times. I'm not going to give my eggs away when costs are so high, and I'm not going to charge my customers different prices when some eggs are peewee, small or medium size. I make sure my customers get what they're paying for. So, to each their own...
When you buy jumbo eggs, do you want to get peewee size eggs in your carton? Just wondering... I personally don't care how large the egg is on my plate, but when baking with recipes, it matters.
Exactly! I heard from a university professor China used to take our plastic but they no longer do so. So all our recycling bins of plastic go in to the landfill- secretly. Love your recycle ideas👏🏻
We had glass when I grew up we took it back then our books covered in the paper bag so not to ruin the books , no if they really want to change we would go back to glass and paper, even water bottle should be able to go back like beer bottle, this is beyond right now,I have been trying to understand what they are doing
I have my thoughts, unfortunately not the popular ones according to them. I had a subscriber ask me why I hadn't responded to his initial comment, and I had no notifications at all from them for him. They had immediately sent it to trash bc it was a bit political in a way they didn't like. I, too, remember glass milk containers and paper grocery sacks wrapped around books. What they're doing to our country is beyond disgusting. I so wish my grandchildren had the America I was raised up in.
@@grandmasfarmlife I'm still trying to figure out how the internet works when it first came out it was fun and now it's very different people are different, I'm so sori people are in my own words not raised Americans value and I'm praying for our grandkids to have a beautiful country to grow up in, I'm fighting for dinner in the court for our value again I'm so sori for everything that has happened sence 911 God bless you and your family thank you for your time and your show it was awesome 😎🙏
@@fallen605 the demons have done this before, IMHO, before the flood. They know it takes time to change minds and hearts. They bring it in as innocent, and bit by bit, change it starting with the young. Thats why they're after the children.
Exactly! Been saying this for years. If they were really serious about making changes it would start at the manufacturing level not the consumer level. We don’t get choices but are constantly told it’s our fault. Tired of it. When the elites sell their expensive beach houses then I will maybe start to believe the story about rising sea levels. Actions speak louder than words! Saying one thing and doing another whilst blaming a third is the loudest of all.
Yes we got along without plastic and now it is everywhere and cannot get rid of it . Especially when our clothes and difficulties that come from washing and the microplactic residues that now affect our water and air. We cannot get rif of it . recycling is defnitely not the answer .because it will pervade even more aspects of our life . This is a travesty and tragedy . It is up to the young to lobby and change this so plastic is banned. But they are unaware and want cheap goods. They don't seem to realize the real cost of these cheap plastic products and clothing is costing them their future in health aand the environment and thechickens will eventually come home to roost. Good luck with your channel and making this difficulty conscious.
