I'm probably stating the obvious, but the scanned head itself could be 3D printed. A full size 1:1 scale of the head would be possible, although I don't know how much detail it would capture with the facial features. You could actually do away with the traditional head cast or life mask using materials such as Alginate with plaster bandages to create a mold of the head. Plus, you could print the eyes open instead of closed to get a more accurate rendering and likeness of the face. My creative motivation just went up a notch. 😃💡
Hi. Nice. This may have been asked already but was the surface cleaned with alcohol or such to remove any dirt and grease to ensure paint adhesion? Thanks.
You could probably cast it in something like pewter. Yes platinum silicone reacts poorly to resin prints, but if you do a good job sealing the part it should be OK.
Would you make a mold similar to the ones used for you Highlander lightsaber build? Im making several different 12 inch long hilts and it needs to a slot in the center for the blade tang. The finished hilt needs to be strong enough to hold the blade for cutting so I have not decided which type of resin to use. Love the videos and all your props.
Grest info❗️OK, Small screen keyboard, large fingers and 70 years of button pushes where the finger bone is important in keystrokes. Argh!!! GREAT INFO‼️
I saw someone who looked suspiciously like you at the con with the badge "Bob Dolan" and I wasn't sure if it was you, or someone cosplaying as you - which is something that might ONLY happen at Dcon! It's my happy place!
so, i recently discovered the Green Stuff World Chrome Metallic paints. They brush on and look like vacuum metalized toys. (you can also spray them on i hear, i just don't have an airbrush). You should give it a try on something you want shiny Metal some time.
Rizzard? Ah. Portmanteau between "rizz," short for "charisma," and "ard" of the ret variety. Ain't new slang, that's really just old slang gurgling back up like off-gassing sewage, grand? I'm fun at parties. Especially tea parties.
I haven't been to DCon in over 10 years, cant get a room less than 10 miles from the con and will NOT go when I have to drive to the con. Used to like going to the sub floor late at night when all the goth and bandage crowd came out. I doubt that is still going on.
Such an awesome video! And I made it in as part of the PeterPools! Awesome video. Thanks for putting it together. This was a great year. You guys always inspire me. I was Kang last year and got a photo with y’all. I also gave you or maybe your twin brother a cap stash this year with some custom Marriott carpet caps! I’m rambling, this video was awesome! All the feels.
Love this Bill. There are so many that pour their hearts into things that others question. They don't understand why people work hard every year to attend every year. That those people have truly found "There people." Its a wonderful beautiful thing. I hope some year we get the chance to participate. Until then . . . lead the way! What an awesome tribute to Dragon Con!
IM NOT CRYING YOURE CRYING. We absolutely love seeing you guys at our favorite place in the world 💜 i also love that you captured dragoncon the way I see it too 😍
This is the kind of video I want to go back and watch in 20 years and I know the same smile will be on my face seeing all of my friends having a blast! Thanks Bill for putting this together 🙌
Shame I didn't get to see you there, I could have given you some of my Dragon Gold I made. Also, you could have gotten pictures of my 7 pound pin vest.
