Your videos helped me a ton. THANK YOU! I bought an old SP-300V, and knew nothing about it until my Magenta dropped out and then Yellow. Turned out to be the cap top needing replaced. I got some spare parts and consumable with the machine. I didn't recognize the dampers in the video, how can I tell mine are OEM or not?
What software were you running to make this unit work? You mentioned illustrator with rasterlink. What version and what operating system were you using it on?
On my Roland Versacamm VS 540i I have done multiple head soaks over night and cleaned it manually many times however I cannot get the Magenta, cyan, yellow and light grey colors on the nozzle check print pattern to print fully I get about 50% of the lines what can I do?
Mike, another great video. I order cap tops ($15) from Digiprint, If I order 10 or more thay are $10 each, but the shipping is $14. Who is your rep at Digiprint? Do you think he can adjust the shipping price for me? They ship from the Dallas TX warehouse and I am located 120 miles south of Dallas, and think $14 shipping for 10 small captops is outragious. They only weight a few ounces to ship.
Unfortunately, I don't have the connections at digiprint to make that happen. Maybe reach out to Carlos and express your concerns that the shipping is excessive.
I just bought a VersaCamm VS 540i and it was sitting in storage for years so the head was probably dry as heck. I've tried 2 long term head soaks. The first head soak did help it help bring back about 25% of the missing nozzle check marks but I still have about 40% missing lines especially on yellow magneta and cyan. What else do you recommend to do? Should I keep trying more head soaks? How do I know when its just time to replace the head?
Nice. I tried this w regular cleaner. Got better for sure. But not there yet. Using alot of ink in the process. Does anyone trust / have long experience w any Non Roland Inks????
You had new head caps on. Can I still do a head soak with my caps being used? I just swapped them out in January. My cyan is clogged up from a company move we had to do and it sat while we were moving and getting set back up. ALso, are you using the TR2 Cleaning Solution?
Hi. By any chance, do you have a video on how to do a cap ink pull with a syringe on a SG300? I did a few head soaks from watching your videos. But my cyan still has a couple of clogged nozzles.
@reprint217 Is there anything else you can suggest I do to try and get the nozzles back, before I have to replace the head? I've been trying to get my hands on a service manual so I can change out the head myself. But I was told that without PECK code, I wouldn't be able to do the service on it myself. Im guessing that something only Techs have access to.
Hi, Yes tried this with 2 machines. It allows me to change the date, but reverts back to the original date which was previously set. How do you manage to save the setting as it is not on the video.
Mike, thanks for doing these vids! I was able to change the cyan/magenta head on my SG-540, but now Im getting an alignment issue. It's like the black isn't lining up and the image is fuzzy. What would be the next step to stop that?
@@reprint217 I figured it out. The head wasn’t pushed flat. I had to use a little more force than I expected. Once in position correctly, everything works as it should. Thanks for the help!
Water went into my motherboard so I had to buy another one during that time the printer was off but I always poured the cleaning solution every week or 2 can it go more than a year a still print again once my mother board is sorted.
Hi Mike, I have a Sp540i and 6 months ago I replaced both dx4 heads and both cuptops. Now the test shows me that I have several shifted nozzles on black and blue. I do manual cleaning regularly, but it seems to me that more and more nozzles are not in place. What should I do?
Replaced the head on my sg540 dont know how to add the head rank or wjere to find it.. i bought the head on digiprint .im also. Stuck on a message that says canceled to protect pump..please help
@reprint217 Yes, I got it thankyou..the only problem I have now is a message that says head protection activated when I turn the printer on. It pauses on each pass when printing, but if i print in service mode, it prints fine..im.hoping it's because I am using digiprint ink

@reprint217 thanks..it was a low ink problem after I put in a new ink it went away but now I'm having a "head protection activated" message..I'm hoping it's because of the ink I'm using which is digiprint ink
Hello. Thanks for the video - very helpful. We just replaced one of the print heads on one of our XR640s. I failed to save the packaging and don't have the head serial number. However, I did take photos of the head and there are numbers on it. Is the serial number on the actual print head? Just curious. If not, is there another solution or work around for this issue? How do I go into service mode with my VG640 I already got page 10 on number 1. But the second step: Down right left up then: right down left then: hold right down left press power button. It then say: service mode is protected. Could it be different for the VG640 version?
When I’m doing a clean..I don’t see the flag is moving for yellow ink. (The flag that supposed to move in and out when it pumps the ink in. I’m pretty sure there is nothing wrong with the print heat. I had it very good just 3 days ago. All lines are perfect. Because I rang out of yellow ink the other day..so I cut my yellow ink bag and refilled it with the left over I had. My yellow on the left is gone now. But the second yellow is still working. Still printing cos my printer print setting CYMK 4 color with 8 ink bags using 2C 2Y 2M 2K. How do I get the flag to move again. I think you call them “arm”
