Recently I am fighting with my VS540. I had one of my Cyan not printing at all but I know my print heads works so it's a line issue. If you remembered this I did asked you a question on this topic but the very stubborn Cyan just not showing. I did so much such as totally removing the choke valve, sniffed the Y tube and flush as well, flush all line with cleaning cartridges, changed three pumps, changed captops and changed three time three set of dampers (usually its the problems) Finally I have got nothing else to change expect of another DX7 print head...the first test print is perfect so there goes to show I did changed the dampers too many times and cracked the manifold of the head. I just wouldn't want to believe it that manifold can be that easily cracked even though I read about it
My VG-540 has no cyan which lead me here. I reached out to a tech I found from rolands site and I sent them my test print which is perfect minus the cyan. I asked if a printhead might be in order since I already did the cap tops and head soaks. They told me I might need 1,2 or even 3 printheads?! All I am missing is cyan so I can't even see how a 3rd comes into play but to address my new trust issues, how many printheads are on a VG540? Just looking at it with caveman knowledge, I count 4 total. I'd like to tackle it myself if possible, especially after my quote hiked from $2200 to $4500.
after so many years of experience, which heads are better DX4 or flexfire heads. I have an SP540i which serves me well, should I upgrade to the sg3 540.
Dx4 printhead is definitely one of my favorites, but old tech. Think an SG3 would be a nice upgrade. Flexfire printheads are not even the same category as the dx4 in terms of reliability. I have a VG3 and like it. I think someone coming from a 2 head, 4 color would be very pleased with the upgrade.
That is the ink I will be ordering! I tried orange from another company and had major regrets, to say the least. I've been using jetbest for years in legacy machines.
