@peterhodgson7687 thanks peter I really should make a new one as I've found lures and just about everything have moved up another notch and have improved so much.... .the video will give you the basics for sure though...I hope you catch a big one...tightlines mate
@northumberlandmountainhopper haha great stuff the isle of skye is incredible not just for fishing...spectacular scenery...walking .. wildlife.. well worth a visit.. I hope you enjoy your trip with the son and enjoy the videos
Hi and a fantastic couple of days fishing, and a camp thrown in as well, even better. Some great ideas in your videos for days away with the boyo Cheers
@northumberlandmountainhopper great stuff.. skye is incredible even if the fishing is poor...walking.. climbing..wildlife and scenery. you would love it
Absolutely cracking spot, fed up with going to St Abbs as either it’s busy, the swells not right, it’s too windy, tide does not correspond with our free time !!!! and my son just wants to catch, so this looks ideal the point by Glen Coe I can guess but do you give pointers or or just general info ? Cheers
@northumberlandmountainhopper great stuff thanks for the comment 👍..the point I fished at Ballachulish is good for thornback rays...conger and dogfish too on mackerel baits...the other spot is near the campsite through the woods at caolasnacan...its a dangerous spot to access though as the path has steep drops...not ideal for children tbh...however I'm sure you'll find lots of good spots close to the car along the north side of he loch....hope you have a great time...tightlines 👍
@anotherangleUK Thanks mate about time I had a cracker its been tough this year from my normal spots...this year I have the opportunity to visit distant places so I'm going to make the most of it as next year I'll be limited to the borders of Scotland again...tightlines bud 👍
Awesome video! Definitely more successful than my trip last month. Have you ever tried by Duntulm Castle by any chance? I found it via Google maps and looked VERY fishy when I arrived but only mustered a single dog fish unfortunately
Some nice Pollock there bud well done been slow up north for the Pollock and cod been doing well on the bass on surface lures keep the good work up and tight lines 👍
@andrewnaylor1481 thanks Andy I'm glad you are getting some fish especially the bass...my last visit to the borders was terrible only one fish...ill try again up eyemouth way in August hopefully it's better soon...tightlines mate
A word from a wise old Fisherman like Me......If you find a special spot ..a beautiful spot.....don't go sharing it with everyone...it will soon be degraded.
Brilliant video Davey, I’d think most of us guys would be envious of this one. You made us all drool over that sarnie, hope you washed it down with a decent coffee and had a wee dram to celebrate the day. Keep them coming matey, we’ll done and tight lines for the next one 🎣🎣🎣👍
This video narf makes uk fishing look great. It’s like a session you’d see in in Australia or something, non stop action and hard fighting specimen fish mate. Cheers for sharing Dave really enjoyed it 👍
Stuff dreams are made of mate, huge Pollack, breathtaking scenery, egg bacon and bean butties, awesome trip Dave, unbelievable. Thanks mate you take care 👍🎣🎣
@stephenwilkinson4214 haha yes it was fantastic stephen...still suffering the effect of the sarnies though 😆 🤣 😂...glad you enjoyed mate...tightlines and all the best 👍
Top angling that Dave well done, some great footage with those scrapping Pollock. Great that you can wild camp, three mega brekky sarnies please can't beat alfresco eating outside. Aye them midgies are proper hard core wee Rab C Nesbitts haha. Thanks for sharing tight lines as always matey.
haha 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed the vid john...those midges can find you wherever you try to hide...im sure they are even buzzing around my home now 😆 🤣 😂. I had a bath full of them yesterday when I got home 😄
@cupholder3120 it takes about 7 hours non stop and 8 with a beak or two mate. .I stopped 2 days was going to do 3 but I was very happy with the video and thought it pointless to try and slay more fish 😆 🤣 😂
Another excellent vid Dave really enjoyed that some cracking fish nd a lovely place thats what you call living the dream. Tight lines look forward to the next one ;)
Wow, some great fish on this one. Not expecting you to reveal that exact fishing mark but how do you find the places ? Word of mouth ? Trial and error ? Navionics/Google Earth ? Whatever method, it seems to work ! P.S. I’ve read that diving Pollock back in head first revives them when hit the water.
@dmp2000uk yes that definitely works I've tried it...I do ask a lot of questions to find good spots to fish ...navionics is good...sometimes though it's just trial and error...I never know for sure if I'm going to catch so I just think a fish is a bonus and I'm a huge optimist so give it a go anyway...fairly deep water..rough ground full of kelp.. a calm sea and the wind behind you ...massively raise your chances...tightlines mate 👍 hope this helps
Great videos as usual dave. Nice fish. I am going to skye next Thursday to Sun. Staying at Portree Campsite. Going pollack fishing can You give me any pointers dave? Regards brian
@hunterston100 yes mate if I was up that way and you have good weather ...id try aird point up at kilmaluag bay or rubba hunish maybe staffin too...it will be trial and error for you though if you don't know the area 🤔...calm sea and the wind behind you will massively increase your chances so go to places around the island that have these conditions on the day...hope this helps...tightlines and have a great trip mate 👍
@hunterston100 it's a savage gear MPP...or multi purpose predator rod...they are brilliant and excellent value for money...looking at mine closer its actually a 120g rod.. absolute must though those fish are incredibly powerful and a really light rod will be very hard work tbh...tightlines mate and enjoy 😉 👍
Avon skin so soft off Amazon Dave, best insect repellent you can get, about a tenner for three bottles. Enjoying your recent content, with the recent suspension of netting Pollock enjoy more of the same for the future.
@gosnest thanks Keith 😊 yes its good stuff the Avon.. I have jungle formula and it absolutely stinks 😆...I only use it in desperation...im actually immune to the bites now...I can be covered by them on bare skin and not have a lump or itch...they do irritate god knows how many I ate lol....tightlines mate
@stevecoppin4278 cheers steve 👍 really glad you enjoyed...about time I smashed it too...been tough so far this year with eyemouth once again poor..all the best 👌 👍
Yee ha Davie that's what it's all about mate 👍🏻 some banging Pollock sir 🎣💪🏻🔥 especially that one that was golden 👌🏻 cracking video as always mate really enjoyed it 👍🏻 well done 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I'm heading off up to Skye today for 4 or 5 days of fishing and you've certainly got the juices flowing mate 🎣🎣. Ohh and that big sarnie looked mega for £5 😁🤤🤤 😂 Regards Arnie
Brilliant video with some cracking fish coming ashore. When you go up to Skye is it pot luck where you fish from, known marks or do you garner local information? I am not asking for your marks just interested as might plan a trip over there next year
@Brian-mb9ez it's best to get some local information if possible Brian there are some well-known spots on skye eg neist point but the lesser fished spots I find are best...basically find a rock to fish from with fairly deep water and rough ground out to 50 yds and persevere there will be fish there...cleaner ground will see spurdogs and rays for sure on bait but few pollack...most good spots require a long walk and a bit of a climb too...always fish somewhere that's calm with the wind behind you for best results....even if you don't catch a thing skye is incredible and you can just soak up the scenery ...I hope you manage to go at some point...all the best 👌 👍
What more could you wish for davey living the dream there mate ehhh belting fish wild camping and massive butties the size of pollocks 😂👍🏻🎣 HAPPY DAYS 😎 Enjoy bonnie lad 🙋♂️
@cupholder3120 I've heard they are brilliant rods and glasgow angling have a deal on them mate...tbh I'd also grab yourself a powerful rod too ...bass rod or heavy spinning rod...those fish are so powerful I'd likely have lost more in the kelp if I didn't have mine...the 9 to 30g rod I had just wasn't coping well
