Hi, I'am Dennis from Kustom Kraft I made handmade boots in my workshop in Northern Germany. I would like to give you an understanding for my love of the bootmaking craft.
Dennis, thanks for the story about yourself and your videos, partly because I understood some of the technical processes of creating shoes and have already made more than 10 pairs of shoes. By the way, have you thought about creating boots that lace to toe? I assure you, there are no better work boot designs than this one. Greetings from Russia!)
You are not just making boots, you are helping to make other new bootmakers! I have only followed a little part of your journey, but it's been both a lot of great information and a lot of inspiration. Do you still have the balance bike?
It's such a pleasure if I can also inspire people. That's a great honor. Thank you for your kind words! I appreciate these. Unfortunately we don't have the balance bike anymore.
Love your work and as someone who gets into (bespoke/Vintage) shoemaking myself its always cool to see your designs and sole constructions. Would be nice if you had said something about yourself in the video like how may pairs you have already made or why you decided to become a bootmaker. Was it hard to get the shop, materials and tools?
Hey thank you very much. I was tired of making seats, belts etc. And I wanted to challenge myself with making a pair of boots. At the end of the video I said I have about 50 pairs in three years made ;)
Amazing!! Such an inspiring video! Thank you for sharing your journey! My journey is very similar but with sneakers. Every pair you make gets better and better and better. And no matter how many times you do it, you always come across a new technique with each build. Its so fascinating. I will be beginning my 1st boot build very soon! I am soo excited to get started on it!
@@kustomkraftworkshop8593 you are very welcome! Thank you so much! I will definitely contact you if/when I have a question. I truly appreciate you for saying that! 🙏
Is that a result of using the last? Watch times of boy videos and have never shown how a last works. No clue what they are made with and how long they last before they aren't useable??@@kustomkraftworkshop8593
@@kustomkraftworkshop8593 wow you're skills are top notch already! Where are you located? I started making sneakers in 2021 and now I'm really interested in the process of making boots and dress shoes. I'm still working on getting some of the tools I'll need to complete the soles but I'm almost there!
@@kustomkraftworkshop8593 youre welcome! And wow, that's awesome! I cant wait to see more from you! I'm glad I found your channel! I will definitely be watching all of your videos!
I have watched you sow a lot you use the two needles with the two threads is this a superior form of sewing then using a jurk needle that I see used quite often
Did i just read you've never had a pair of engineer boots in your hands prior to these? If I read that right then pretty mind blowing. I can already image the 10th pair, if you ever make more, being near perfect. Thank you, from an aspiring shoemaker ✌️
I know this is a big favour to ask but could you explain and teach each step on how to make the boots and patterns cuz where I'm from we don't have schools for this stuff, much appreciated 👍🏼
hi!im french and i made 2 paire of shoes,i would like to make this boots...question where did you by your thick leather insole?here you find only 4,5 mm max...thanks
I am amazed that any real craftsman can earn a living these days. You’d have to make $96/hr to cover a living. That's a pair of boots sold from start to finish every 7 hours. That's a pair of boots per day. OMH!!
Real art! It's always cool to see how much work and effort you put into the boots! Real art! 👨🎨
Congratulations! And thanks so much for this video! It looks like Spenle was able to get you lasts with proper squared heels. Were they riding boot lasts? I like the rounder toe shape. By the way, it is _not_ just pointy, chisel "French", or trendy square toes on boots in Texas. Your boots would not be out of place in Fort Worth or Abilene or Lubbock. The nappy leather might seem a little flashy, though ;-P Was that a crab-style shank puller you used to crimp the vamp liner?
Thank you very much for your kind words. The last from Spenlé seems to be the perfect last for the client. So we choose it. The shank puller is made by myself and looks awesome but it works pretty well ;)
Definitely don’t have the patience or the dexterity to do this. I would stab myself at least 5 times a day. This just makes what you’re doing even more impressive to me though
