You had done a great trunk review, I'm about to book this car as a rental for my holiday, and this is my biggest concern that my wife's bag won't fit. lol have to plan ahead on what to carry.
Aww I saw another video of yours and saw this and thought I watch it, aw it was wonderful what a wonderful message, sorry I’ve never heard of your family before but it’s inspiring xx wish you’d kept your channel up I think we could of learnt a lot from you.
This video is perfect. Literally needed to know how much it could carry for a trip w/ my wife and you nailed it on the dot for what I'm looking for. Thank you.
In the world of car reviewers I have never found someone who could review a car with the humor and "i dont take myself too seriously" mien of Doug DeMuro but I think you could have seriously challenged him had you done these reviews as he has...and this is a 5-year old video...Nice job, man...it was totally enjoyable listening to you. Some people have the gift of gab and you definitely possess it !!!
This review was fantastic! Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Would love to watch you go for a drive through the countryside and give us your impressions as you drive. :-)
I know that this video is not new, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. I just bought a 2019 Club and it is also fantastic. Everything that's great about the old Miatas, updated. Love it.
Mr. Bonner Jr, I bought a 2017 RF and like you am very pleased with how it handles and looks. This was probably the most honest car review I have seen, and you sir are a cool dude.
I am watching a lot videos for the 2016 MX-5 as I am in the hunt for one for my upcoming birthday. Mr. Bronner Jr. has given the best review thus far. It is great to average a true owner talk about the car. The passion is there! This car is in his soul, his being, he is connected to the car and that is great to see. His presence in this video makes me feel like he's my neighbor and we are in his driveway talking about his car! Safe motoring to you! Thank you for sharing.
Maybe more like day and dusk :) I sometimes wish I had the manual (when I'm on the open road in the country) and I'm sometimes glad I have the auto (when in stop and go traffic).
I have this car and did choose the soft top even though I have never been a converible guy. I am starting to understand the appeal now however ...but honestly my first thought was to remove and sell the entire assembly on ebay and buy an aftermarket hard top....why you ask? Because I initially was opposed to driving topless AND I figured by removing the soft top I surmised I could do a very clean install of a rollbar, have a really nice storage area, and a super lightweight top setup damn near free by the time I sold the alost brand new 2018 softtop assembly for top dollar ....I am still attracted to the idea except driving topless has grown on me ...And maybe I still will someday IF someone ever markets a reasonably priced ultra lightweight carbon fiber roof that would look good unfinished....
1000% agree! I travel for business all the time and I'll often choose a different route back to home - ironically you may find that you get to wherever you're going in better spirits and sometimes even sooner if you take "the long way"!
Thanks Nathaniel - it's 2020 and there still aren't a lot of (actual) owner reviews - some are week long reviews done by folks that do it for a living and they provide some good information but I really like your perspective. I recently purchased a 2017 RF (the retractable "fastback") model in GT trim and love it. What you say about the storage is true but I believe everyone looking seriously at a car like the Miata/MX5 really can't complain too much and it's inline with the design philosophy of the original and subsequent generations of the car - possible with the slight exception of the previous generation (the NC) which was largely based on the RX8 platform so it included things like door pockets and was a bit bigger in most dimensions. I live in a colder climate (Ohio) and like the RF to help in keeping the weather out. Sounds like you're really enjoying your Miata - do you still own it and if so, still loving it?
Very good review sir ! I thought that I was the only person who had problems lifting and lowering the roof on my 2001 Miata ! Glad to know that strong guys have the same issues, and that the new MX-5 has a much easier to use roof.
