I watched the 1st 30 seconds of "The Departed"..., already my temper was up! I have daughters..., if some sleazeball asked one of them, "have you got yer period yet?" while I was there..., it would be game over for him right quick! Also I didn't much care for the (brutal!)execution on the beach scene...,
The best of outcomes in your family time and work activities. You've come a long way with all your videos up to this moment. I am sure many people, including myself will celebrate your return when the time is right! Thank you for all the effort you put in your reviews 👏👏🇲🇽👍
I'm in the process of reading the book and watching the movie (doing both simultaneously with first reading parts of the book and then watching the corresponding part of the movie). I am not quiet finished yet but I believe, if I just had watched the movie, I wouldn't have the faintest idea what the hell was going on. The parts of the film that exist are great and everything is almost exactly as I imagined it from the book, including the atmosphere. But as you said, the lack of narration or general background information keeps you completely oblivious what Winston actually wants or why he is doing what he does. It also seems to be way to short of a movie, so you can't really immerge in the story. I think if they just made it longer and somehow found a way to convey more of the background information and motives of the characters, it would've been a much better film.
did they intentionally make to movie the martian worse than the book??? to make nasa look better than it is and make space travel look safer than it is????
The book was a classic The movie was aggressively mediocre and had almost no relationship to the book other than the title HBO or Netflix should buy the rights and make it into an anthology series - that way each episode and character in the book can get an epsiode. If they go long enough & run out of stories & characters from the book, they can follow the book format - character describes how they personally experienced WW Z, in the part of the world that they were in, to a reporter doing a series on the aftermath of the recently ended WW Z - with the series finale being "the Battle for The Hero City" (that was the last battle of the war, fought right here in New York City, which was a "White Zone" - no living people, all Zombies) That would be must see TV
I’d love the book I finished reading it. The other day took me a very long time because I have ADD HD and it’s kind of help me also pick up the book. I also seen the movie before I read the book I noticed and there’s a lot of stuff taken out and a lot of stuff at the end at it in Because at the end of the book, he says he’s just grateful he’s happy to be alive, but this added thing with the space Academy is very interesting
me too then i watched the movie... the visuales are fantastic but the problem solving part is missing Mark Watney,s abillaty to adapt to his inviroment and think outside the box is wat makes the story. the movie is to clean to polished . missleading future genarations of astronouts to think any idiot can get to mars as long as nassa is holding there hand
I h ave been a Stephen King fan since I read Carrie. I agree very much with your take on the movie. I always felt that Jack seemed crazy already when they arrive at the Overlook. In the book, you get to see the hotel take him over. While I like the movie, I love the book.
very accurate assessment's am 74 years o dand have taught the novel many times always ending with a showing of the excellent film I read the novel every year
I remember seeing these as brand new movies, both are a tie,. But I prefer Terminator 1 because it's a more terrifying darker movie where part 2 is more of an Action movie. Kinda like Conan the Barbarian versus the Destroyer.
I believe 1000% that the book is SCARIER! I can't even imagine reading this book, ever! Lol that movie scarred me for life, I was way too young to watch it and then couldnt sleep for months. Books are ao much more intimate and get inside you like you are holding on to these characters and that would freak me out. 😂 I do love horror movies, though, go figure.
Looove this analysis ❤ I also did a review of 10 Frankenstein movies versus the book recently, please check out my channel and let me know what you think
I loved the hobbit trilogy more than its book ( it was more interesting. I liked the additions and its dark tone , dont hate me ). I dont understand why people hated the movies so much.
Thank you. I hope it's worth reading. I like the movie I don't like that they call Carrie ugly in the book because it seems like they're bullying her. But I guess that's the point. I slipped through it and a school library years ago. I thought her physical description was over the top
I have about 100 pages left in the book. I saw the movie like 20 years ago. The book has the minor character George Hatfield in it, the book talks about Jack's abusive dad, and it has a scrapbook detailing the Overlook's history. None of those things are in the movie. The book does not have a maze in it.
One other huge problem is the lack of mass and (angular) momentum. Acceleration, de acceleration, there seems to be no realistic constraints. It’s not even overuse of CGI, it’s overuse of bad CGI.
Like many, I saw the film before reading the book. For me, the film wins hands down. But that's because it's just SO damn good. A classic. The book is five stars for me as well, but this is one of those rare occasions of a film outperforming the book.
I have to say that i'm rereading and rewatching both recently I almost enjoyed the movie at least as much, And Jim is probably the reason why why. Also, henry cavill is fun in it too. I also liked the added swordplay. Guy was amazing
I read a condensed version of the book in a Readers Digest collection as a teenager, before I saw the film. Some of the Thingstad you mentioned in the book weren’t in the redacted version I read (missed out on the naughty bits 😄). I was at university when the film came out. My friends and I bunked off a couple of lectures in order to see the film in the daytime, as the queues were massive in the evening. All of us jumped out of our seats when the head came out of the bottom of the boat, then tried to be blasé afterwards. Tough guys huh! 🤣🤣🤣
