I remember when I went to see the movie and when I walked out and told my friend "That Christian Bale guy would make a great Joker!" Just wanted to point the irony 😆.

@@AdamWrightReviews Its a horror book with collection of some short horror stories. But some stories and their graphic images gave me chills and nightmares.

@@AdamWrightReviews American Psycho seems less gory in comparison to it. The graphical images are disturbing and vile

I'm trying to listen to the new American Psycho Audio book from Amazon, but Adam Wright... my supposed favorite booktuber... keeps buzzing in my ear.

Very nice. Let's see Paul Allen's comparison.

There is 1 likeable character though: Jean; Patrick's secretary. She's lovely in both the book and the movie.

put down the book after he hurt the dog, it was affecting my mental health but i picked it up again in audiobook form because i hate dnfing books. It makes it slightly easier but the story is just so repetitive. Going out to dinner every night might be fun to do but it's not fun to read about.

So is "American Psycho" the author's modernization of "Psycho"? I never read either, but i know enough, and every time I heard Bateman, my mind just kept going to the Bates motel lol In any case, great review! Id have to check out the movie now!

American Psycho is more like the Clockwork Orange of it’s time. Since it’s more about the humanity of violence and murder than straight horror novel. Bateman’s last name is just a name etymology for Norman Bates.

How's this for a coincidence? Feminist activist Gloria Steinem (by the way is Christian Bale's stepmother) was among those opposed to Ellis's book because of its portrayal of violence toward women.

Great video! I've seen the movie and love how quotable it is and I agree, Bale was amazing. I have zero interest in ever reading the book though 😳 Love your line at the end 😆

Similar to Bale in the movie. Young, slim and fit with slicked-back hair.

in the book, he's very serious about his appearance (i think ellis used this aspect to point out consumerism and superficiality) he's tan, fit, young, slicked hair, manicures done, great skin, and always wearing designer

I had to read this for my college course. I didn't have to much time and listened to the audiobook, and good god- I had to read the whole thing and nearly cried from the absurdity of it. Am still recovering from it. I don't like this book at all, but I do love to hate it. I nearly lost it. Haven't watched the movie though, am not really jumping to do so either after all that, at least not for a while. That whole book traumatized me. Also, love the refrence at the end, nearly gave me a heartattack though😂
