Did the Poppy Fields craze at Cone 6? That's the only problem I've found with firing Jungle Gems at higher temps. I love that Tangelo with it. Gorgeous!
These are so pretty. Just love decals! It looks like the ornaments weren’t cleaned with alcohol before applying. If you use a non shedding cloth to clean the surface with alcohol it shouldn’t leave the holes like that. I was also thinking since the ornaments are flat maybe they got too hot since the entire piece is on the kiln shelf and the piece is so thin maybe it got too hot. Anyway they look great.
Thank you! I was wondering why they did that! I did not take the time to clean them, so that’s probably what happened! I think the water was too warm at the beginning also! Not sure if that would make a difference! Just a few did that! I hung the ornaments so they weren’t flat!
@@undsethpottery The water temp doesn’t matter. If it’s warm they come off the backing easier. You want to make sure to press all the air out from underneath beginning in the middle. Once you’ve got it on you can turn the piece on the light and see if there are bubbles underneath. If there are you can use warm water to get it wet and try again. Glad I could help.
Kim, have you tried Magic Water for your handles and attachments. Use instead of slip after scoring. Thanks for your vid’s. #tinyheartspottery Magic Water Water - 1 Gallon Sodium Silicate (Liquid) - 3 Tablespoons Soda Ash - 1.5 Teaspons
I haven’t, I will have to try that! I use vinegar and it usually works very good! The studio is so dry in the winter which I think is the biggest problem!
Hi, Kim! Love the 'glaze the dip bowl and plate together' trick! I like the profile of the bowl when it's done that way. LOVE the Pistachio Glaze Mug. I have to try that! I just LOVE Copper Float! Great kiln unload! Thanks for sharing!
Beautiful glaze combinations. Loved the last mug, called gunmetal. I too find the glazes with crystal's can be too much, so mixing with the same base glaze is a good way to thin them out. Happy potting
Love the poppy fields glaze combo? I would also love to see the velveteen artist that you mentioned but can't seem to find her. Could you post a link to that artist please?
Love the Summer Confetti Mug. I prefer the Cone 6 result. Looking forward to seeing your decal work! Lone Star!...Nice! Oh gosh...River Rock, too! Great kiln unload, Kate!
Can’t wait to see what you do with the poppy fields! I think I got the soap pumps from PSH, they were quite a bit cheaper than my regular pottery supplier!
