This is very good information. A doctor has never given me this much information during consultations. I don’t think they think you’ll understand or that you need to know.
Hello @ngoctrangle-alfonso9771, in general for skincare, antioxidants are good for most/all skin types, hyaluronic acid in a serum or moisturiser, niacinamide or other soothing calming agents like heartleaf can all be useful. It is recommended to incorporate a good antioxidant serum including a good potency vitamin C, broad spectrum sunscreen with at least Spf 40-50 and PA +++ in the day, and depending on skin type, using a retinol or retinoid 2-3 times a week can be helpful to preventing fine lines and photo-ageing. For injectables, some good products that improve skin quality, consider skin boosters that contain hyaluronic acid to hydrate the skin, polynucleotides to repair the skin and improve fine lines/pores, and also certain bio-remodelling injectables can be helpful to improve elasticity and hydration safely. At the end of the day, skincare and treatments are not a one size fits all and will vary depending on your skin's condition and your history. Do make sure to seek a professional's help for customised skincare to your skin type and condition if you have trouble addressing it yourself!
Hi there, pico lasers can help to reduce hyperpigmentation, we recommend consulting with your dermatologist to determine suitability based on individual’s skin condition.
New to skincare and having a breakout! I'm just starting a skincare routine and my skin seems to be getting worse. I've been using a salicylic acid cleanser, cleansing oil, glow serum, and snail mucin essence for 2 days. My skin is oily and I was double cleansing twice a day. I noticed more pimples, including red ones, so I stopped using everything. Help! What should I do now? How often should I double cleanse?
Do not double cleanse two times ,use Salicylic acid cleanser only 3 times in a week, snail mucin might not suitable for everyone so stop using essence and use a gentle face wash , moisturizer and a sunscreen and double cleanse only if you use makeup or water resistant sunscreen you don't need too much cleansing it will strip your skin barrier
Hello @fizaakter-f9j, thank you for your comment! Cleansing and a good cleansing routine whilst essential and helpful at managing acne prone skin, should also not be overdone, and double cleansing can be done just once a day instead of twice. Generally, we don't want to strip the skin of too much oils and moisture which can then lead to further breakouts as the oil glands might try to compensate and produce more oil. This may actually be more counter productive and lead to more acne formation. Hence, it is advisable to only double cleanse once at night - using an oil based cleanser/cleansing oil as the first step and then a regular wash after that which can be one with salicylic acid. It would be good to be cautious with salicylic acid cleansers depending on strength and sometimes it is recommended to use that in rotation, for example using it only once at night and using a more gentle cleanser in the day without any AHA or BHA so as not to overdry the skin.
Hi there, Onda Coolwaves action is deep and targeted without damaging nearby skin. However, do consult your local dermatologist for more detailed information and individual’s skin suitability!
I have combination skin and use blemish control cleanser by cerave daily, never experienced dryness! I guess it’s because my skin isn’t so sensitive? I can use it and follow up with retinol and still nlt see any irritation!
Hi there, it’s great that this routine works for you! However, every individual’s skin is different and we would recommend consulting a dermatologist if you’re unsure or start off slow when it comes to using products like a retinol to see how your skin takes to it :)
Hi there, Pico Lasers can be used to reduce the appearance of dark eye circles. Do consult you dermatologist to find out more as it may depend on individual’s skin suitability as well!
Hi there! Sorry to hear that you’ve experienced these effects from using salicylic acid cleansers! We would recommend for you to consult a dermatologist to find out what ingredients or products may be more suitable for your skin. :)
Hello! HUGE FAN of your informative videos! You are the laser guru! Question: Is it okay to get 3 different laser treatments at the same time (mainly forfacial redness + a few small broken vessels around my nose, but also for some PIH from old acne)? I'm going to Asia and hoping to combine Picosure (755nm nm), Cynergy MPX (595 nm), and a vascular laser (Wontech V-Laser) that uses 532 nm within 1 week. Is this overkill? For context I'm Chinese with fair skin, dark hair, overall very good skin but always with a flushed appearance on my cheeks and nose. THANK YOU!!!
Hello @sweeetsinx, thank you for your comment! Generally, yes it is ok to get 3 different laser treatments even on the same day or the same week as mentioned. It is quite common at AYD to treat patients with certain combination of lasers on the same day as lasers are very selective in what they treat, unlike broad band light, lasers are basically of a single particular wavelength, hence the laser deployed has a particular selective chromophore or target in the skin and this typically limits any collateral damage if deployed correctly with the right fluences (energy settings) for the right indications and adjusted for the skin phototype. However, the value of adding another 532nm laser as you mentioned for vessels is debatable. Most of the facial redness and broken capililaries can be treated with a 585 or 595nm laser such as the cynergy, and the pigmentation mentioned with the 755nm alexandrite laser, hence the 3rd laser may not be necessary in addition or may be duplicative to treat either vessels or even epidermal pigmentation with 532nm laser can be used to treat. Hope this helps! But treatment differs for all skin depending on the skin type and condition so please seek a dermatologist consultation for a more customised treatment plan.
Thank you for your video! In your video you're talking about such problems as scars, pigmentation that this laser can treat. Can this laser be used to make the skin thick and just for rejuvenation, anti-age effect? Thank you!
Hi there, these lasers can be used to address a range of concerns and we would recommend consulting with a dermatologist so that he/she can assess your condition and tailor a treatment plan that is suited for your needs.
This would depend on each individual’s condition and concern. If you've got a skin concern that Dr Yong can help you with, do drop us a message at our Facebook page at facebook.com/angelineyongdermatology ☺️
I have done Cynergy MPX three times to target redness (primarily my cheeks and nose) but I can’t notice a great difference. Would pico plus from Lutronics help my redness? It seems that nothing can clear my red cheeks and nose these days!

Im from Bangkok and there are a gazillion clinics here. Although hardly any doctor, on RU-vid or even at the clinics, bothers to explain this kind of information. Sometimes I feel like I was duped since they just sell "clearer skin, good for everything Pico", without really explaining how things work and which laser suits what concerns. Thank you for a great content like this!
Hi, I wash my face daily with salicylic acid face wash and apply moisturizer that has 0.3% ceramide with madecassoside, ursolic acid and gaba after salicylic acid serum every night(serum only 3 times per week) should I continue? Because I feel like some days my skin is better and some days it’s worse, idk if it’s doing anything on my skin
Hi there! We would recommend having your skin condition be assessed by a dermatologist in person so that he/she can recommend a suitable treatment for your concern :)
Hi @shaziashasheen3822, we would recommend that you consult your local dermatologist to have him/her assess the condition in-person and better advice you from there. Depending on the severity of the condition, there may be other forms of treatment or management of the condition that has to be administered.
When using both salicylic acid face wash and serum together, remember to start with lower concentration and slowly introduce the salicylic serum to prevent overexfoliation. Also, don’t forget to follow up with a moisturise as the ingredient can be drying.

Hi there! We would recommend consulting with your dermatologist or have him/her assess your condition in person so that they can determine the suitability of treatment and/or laser options for such concerns.
I have oily skin and I use salicylic acids cleanser only in morning. I used to use it twice a day and I got damaged skin barrier. I stopped using it for a week and kept on using a gentle cleanser with hyaluranic acid cream. Restored my skin and then started using my salicylic acid’s cleanser once a day
Skin products and ingredients may work differently for each individual depending on your current skin condition and skin type. It is good to reduce the frequency if you see that it is causing dryness or reduced skin barrier on your skin! Do consult a dermatologist and have him/her advise you accordingly if the salicylic acid cleanser does not work for you.
😅thanks for the heads up, I've just added salicylic acid serum to my night skin care routine,my skin purged for fews days and cleared, it seems to be working, but really slow to see a difference. I was thinking of using it twice
@@ayeshashafique14 hello…. Best way to restore barrier is using hydrating stuff like moisturiser containing ceramides and hyaluronic acid. One trick is, use moisturiser and night and when it dries after 20 - 25 minutes, apply vaseline on top. Vaseline helps retain moisture throughout the night and your skin is hydrated. Try it, and don’t worry Vaseline doesn’t clog pores.
Hi there, pico lasers can treat pigmentation concerns. We would recommend consulting with a dermatologist in person to determine the suitability of treatment.
Hi! For night time usage it would be the same as per Dr Yong’s recommendations in the video :) Ideally, once a day (either day or night), 3 to 5 times a week.
Hi there, depending on your skin condition and concern, it can be used to target specific regions or the entire face if that is neccessary. We would recommend consulting with your dermatologist in person to determine suitability of treatment and the treatment plan.
Hi there! We recommend consulting with your dermatologist to determine suitability of treatment and number of sessions needed as it may vary from individual to individual :)
