I'm less than 30 chests away from getting Silent Barnacle! (aaaaand 50% for the others) Soon I'll complete the water logged theme for my trusty sloop "The Crusty Scab"; named *slightly* in reference to a popular cartoon restaurant but mostly because everyone inevitably picks at it.
Here at over 4k hours…. I still do it, all. The. F#%king. Time. It drives me so crazy, especially because my render distance just shows me a vaguely ship shaped shafow
Wow, just stumbled on your channel and you got my subscription for the production quality and the super nice presentation. True facts, too. Looking forward to more content from you!
@@l8dyhysteria its really funny cause I love your kinda wholesome SoT content eventhough usually I only watch the hardcore sweats on youtube. Keep up the great work love the commedation hunting!
The past 4 times I've done the vaults lately they've all lead to Crecent Isle. It's either absolute pure coincidence or a glitch. If it is a glitch then for anyone who reads I suggest stacking a few vault keyes now before it's patched
@@l8dyhysteria thats one of the lastish commendations I have left to complete (except hg) - almost done with war chest. I knew I should have taken advantage before the change. I hope they do swap it because even the image on the voyage you vote on shows crates. Great video and testing
Thanks! Yeah, I wish I had cared more about commendations when I first started playing. It's hard to keep up with the new ones while still working on the old ones-- especially when they make those less attainable. 😓
@@l8dyhysteria I had legendary hunter of the sea of thieves before the fish had names appear. THEN they came out with captaincy where you had to catch them all again for the trophies. I almost cried, but instead cursed alot
Chest of tribute can be spammed from Shrine of Tribute - One of the easiest to complete. Grab the chest, sell it at reapers, vote to dive to tall tale that starts you at plunder island, rinse, repeat.
Eh... you'd be cheating yourself of sailing the miles with a voyage down for Sailor of Golden Horizon. So you *can* do it that way (for now), but it's not what I'd recommend.
I don't know the exact number of hours, but we got that one way before the other 2 commendations mentioned in the video. I want to say we started focusing on it when we had around 100 and it only took a few play sessions to finish it out when we started targeting the fleet for it.
Nice video, but small correction from 4:30; there are some commendations under Bilge Rats --> Crews of Rage for selling 1/3/5 Chests of Rage and 1/3/5 "Stolen" Chests of Rage.
Is THAT where that is?! I was gaslighting myself into thinking I imagined a commendation for that because I couldn't find it. 😅 Thank you for the correction. 🔥 Getting it from that voyage wouldn't work toward steals, but still good to note. 😉
I came across this video hoping that there's a work-around. But of course not. I did some number crunching, and I found that I have 525 animals left to catch. Not including gold ones. Which means 131 voyages if they are all the 4 animal quests. And if I spend an average of 10 minutes per quest. That 21 some hours of animals. Rare definitely needs to think of expanding this before I spend that long chasing animals. Maybe a super quest with 10 animals. And to tie in the second part of the merchant mysteries, we need a solution for it all. I want to max my merchants so badly but I can't spend that many hours on it
Aww. Sorry for the disappointment on the voyages. We even tried stealing someone's animals to deliver them and it didn't count. Merchant is a long term goal. 😭
I think you're talking about when we were testing the feeding times of pigs or testing to see if snakes hurt pigs and chickens..? We started the voyage and cancelled it after getting the animals. It wasn't helpful for the commendations at all. lol. 😂 We prioritized what we needed for the experiment over completing the voyages for those.
The only time I’ve dealt with a ‘Good Boy’, they were cheaters who couldn’t miss a shot, I was in an hourglass match on a 7 streak no less. Me and my friend ended up fighting them for over an 2 hours and then won with a really sneaky fortress keg play. Can’t say I’m excited to see one of them again 😅
@@l8dyhysteria I don’t tend to encounter very many of the sneaky scallywags after the anti cheat was added, more just people exploiting to make up for the lack of cheats, I’m sure many Xbox players find that too though? I’m on pc so can’t be sure
@@l8dyhysteria I do have SoT on Xbox and PC but PC is my main account with the skelly curse and all that. I just find the joint pc and Xbox servers to be way more active than the Xbox only servers all be it more cheats and toxicity. So it’s all up to personal preference on which servers to play, although I do only have like 10-15 hours on Xbox so I can’t really make a fair judgement😅
That's probably true. Sometimes our servers are super active, but other times they're really chill. It's not that hard to find activity when we want to though.
I appreciate the detailed work on this niche topic. Getting back into the game, I was wondering why these seemingly innocuous voyages were borderline impossible to acquire for the average player. I do hope Rare reconsiders adding back in the gunpowder keg voyages, for example, which I understand you could "roll" for with the old voyage system. These commendations have no business being so excruciating to complete.
As a someone who's been playing sea of thieves for a long time. I felt "If you're not sinking you're not learning." Couldn't be more crucially more true. Despite the amount of hours I run away and avoid other players if I can. Only now i've become more bold and figuring out what to do when I sink. Secondly, ONLY 300 SUBS. NAHHH FAM. lets get you to 1k
As absolutely awesome these new weapons look, I’m not sure if they can compete with the blunder-sniper combo but once I see the damage of the knife and pistol I might change my mind, what do you think?
100% agree. I recently gave up my sword for the blunder/sniper, and I can't imagine the new weapons being better. I LOVE being able to 1 blunder at the ladder and I've hit a crucial snipe or two from ship to ship. I have a mixture of excitement and fear to go up against a PVP-lord with either of these weapons to really show the advantages that I'm not seeing right now, though. 😅
I’m the cannoneer of my duo sloop and you should try matching the arc of the opponent’s cannon trail if theirs are hitting and yours aren’t. Try aim for the cannon line so if a wave knocks your cannon a bit high then it hits mast and if the wave is low then you get below deck shots! With chains you should always aim higher than with cannons and farther ahead of the enemy ship 😁 Great vid btw❤
Great tip! I've been using this tip for the past few months and it has really helped. It's interesting to see video evidence of my own gameplay improvement. These older videos are tough to watch. 😂
As a player with a long time in the game on top of lots and lots of PvP experience, a few of the simplest but often overlooked tips I can give to you new Ps5 players are . Never leave your boat without good food and supplies . Never go for a board attempt if you have any holes on your boat no matter how small . When in an hourglass match and trying to steer your opponent out of bounds, make sure your boat is in a hard left rotation . Always try to give yourself left side cannons when possible . Never anchor . Buy supplies from the merchant and shipwright representatives at any outposts before setting off on your journey . Never underestimate your opponent . Never trust a pirate . And most importantly, enjoy yourself and have fun! That’s all I can think of at the moment, hope to see you on the high seas someday! 😁
Your channel appeared in my reccomended and fantastic guide! Loving the content so far. Lot of good advice and tips. I guess if I had any tips for newer players? Sea offers a variety of ways of fighting. Whether its conventional or just winging it on a wild idea. Be creative. There are those that are just really good at pvp, and those who think outside the box. You'd be surprised what can work in your favor in this game.
When I went to subscribe I thought you would have couple hundred thousand subscribers, when I saw the real number I had to click on it just to make sure it wasn’t 240k
being solo can definitely be a very hard start but if you master solo play it can be a great advantage even when being in a crew i have found as a solo sloop I can take on half descent galleon crews from my experience as a solo and it gives me the ability to do any job when working in a crew
As a new player, the best tip I can give you PlayStation players, is to always anchor with your sails down. This has definitely not caused a substantial amount of loss and strife. 😊
Theoretically, yes... but it's the tiniest speed difference from sloop to brig. A good brig crew is going to capitalize on the slightest wind change & gain back any ground that you thought you had-- especially on a new crew. The point of that section was to say you're not really losing anything if you take the fight and sink. You're not going to learn how to sink a brig if you're always focused on running from them.
